This video does a great job summarizing the life of Martha Washington in five minutes. Great work! And Happy Birthday today to Martha Washington!
That was wonderful...thanks
Very interesting. Did some ancestry research (since we are on the Covid stay-at-home order). Found out Martha is my husbands 3rd cousin. Guess we'll need to visit Mount Vernon some day :)
wait what? doesn't that mean your husband would need to be in the same generation as martha? A third cousin is a person who's in the same generation and shares the same great-great-grandparent as you.
Really? I just found out that Martha was my 8 great Aunt, her sister Anna Moles was my 8th great grandmother
@@karenhallrodriguez9205 We're related! She's my great great great great great great aunt. :)
@@linmayzie1 Wow, hello how are you? Nice to meet you!

Thank you Mt. Vernon! If you ever feel the need to give away trips there. Keep me in mind!

Thank you.
I love this/Thanks for posting it.
THANKS
Lady Washington!
Lady Washington ???? Only if America had remained a British Colony and George W had been knighted in process which is something that could have occured in an alternative universe !!!!!
Martha Washington was never referred to as First Lady. She was called Lady Washington during George’s presidency. The first person to have been referred to as "first lady" on a regular basis during their time in the position was Harriet Lane, who was actually James Buchanan's niece.
Very good
Thank you
@George Washington’s Mount Vernon I understand from my readings of Martha Washington that she was a shrewd businesswoman, more so than George, and that she objected to George wanting to free his slaves following his death and insisted that occur only following her death. While President Washington had some moral qualms re slavery, Martha had absolutely none and accepted slavery as the natural order of things. Is that accurate?
The great men are stars that light the path of great nations for eternity.
bro why tf the volume so quite, im tryna do my history homework💀
😭❤️😭❤️😭
I think I know a Martha Washington in today’s world.
His real name is George Augustine Of Barbados
He didn't get the name Washington until August 1788
There is some thing about Martha Washington that rubs me the wrong way. Funny because I don't usually feel that way toward historical figures but she seems to me to have been less caring about the slaves than George was. I think self-centered and demanding is what I hear in the stories about her.
I think that's probably a fair assessment. But then it's also important to remember that, like George.. she was a woman of her time and class. I think she did the best she could with the information and education she was given. One can't deny her dedication to the soldiers during the revolutionary war.
@@GodsFavoriteBassPlyr thank you! She sacrificed A LOT to be with George at Valley Forge and she personally nursed many soldiers even at the risk of contracting different diseases! I have found her to be a caring and loving women!!!! Patricia Gambino Harrington
Is that her real name? Not Debbie?

👌🏻💞
She was born British !!!!
It sounded like she killed all her children and then killed herself after her husband died 😮
Stop lying enough of the lying He was born in Barbados and we all know that
IT HINK EVRERY YOUNG MEMBER COULD HAVE BEING MURDERED...STRANGE PASSED AWAY SO EARLY.
Martha was not the love of George's life...He settled since she had money and position. George did what he wanted and was away alot.
Her name has 2 a's & ends in an uh sound.
So she killed her first hubby.
