I'm not a Violetine or Clouis fan. That shit is fucking stupid. Combining two names like that is one of the dumbest trends of my lifetime. I played the entire series by putting myself in place of the character. I envisioned myself in Clementine's shoes, and it seems like Violet would be who Clementine would naturally gravitate towards. So many people have played the game and when it comes to the romance option, they get all pervey about it. That's how I view people that use combined names like Violetine or Clouis. I think Clementine needs someone more like Violet than Louis. That being said, I haven't played the Louis option yet. When I do, I will come back and update my thoughts.
Clouis shipper here, great video! I'm happy Violentine gets some love too. Both Vi and Lou have distinct personalities and they both show traits that benefit Clem. I mean, your family living in a trailer, having to watch your granny kill herself and just numb your feelings, only to open up later and then get heartbroken by loss... damn. That's a whole lot of bad cards. To me, she's similar to Clem in where she had to toughen up too fast in a world that fell apart.. well, too fast. In contrast, A rich kid who got everything except what he really wanted before breaking up his own family... It's tough coming to terms with your own actions and having that life of a bubble popped, but the live in the moment mentality, while it has it's moments, wouldn't really make sense long term. True, for Louis, it's broad strokes, I mean, I love the guy. I would rather have Vi lose an eye than for Louis to lose what makes him, well, him. But between both, I would have my Clem date Vi in a heartbeat. MUTUAL RESPECT PEOPLE. PLEASE DON'T CALL FOR A TAC NUKE

I honestly agree, and Clem needs someone that can provide the fact that she's more than just a survivor killing and scavenging in the Age of the Dead, and after everything can still have happiness despite all the heartbreak and pain over the last decade.
Violet was a good leader and seemed to be both rational and capable, even if she had some things to work through. I liked Louis because he really was friendly, but I just didn't find him funny so I think I had a harder time picturing him with Clem. Lilly still did him wrong though, big time...

I choosed Violet for Clem already in my first Playthrough. I don't hate Louis (I think he's a nice Guy and did some good and also brave Things for Clem and AJ), but I think that Clem and Violet belong together more. It also felt more heartwarming for me seeing theyr Romance. The Reason for my Decision: Sorry to say that (it's just my Opinion), but I absolutely don't like that Louis tries right from the Start (before even knowing Clem long enough) to flirt with her (and how he's pretty sure that he would get her all the Time) and teasing a Relationship to the Player that Way (it felt like "Hey Player, you see this funmaking Dreadlock-Guy? He's supposed to be Clem's Boyfriend, you know?"). It felt too rushed for me. And I also didn't like his Dialogs to Clem during the Card-Games (especially because he also talked bad about her Hat). Sorry Louis I really like you and you're a nice Guy, but Violet wins for me! ;) With Clem & Violet it felt for me more realistic how a Romance possibly is developing. No Teasing of a Romance or/and Relationship right from the Start, just learning to know each other first and then we'll see where it goes.
i think it’s amazing how far their relationship comes in a short time, when clem first arrived violet blamed her for the there being lots of walkers and she didn’t have the best introduction but then they become really close and i think it’s so sweet

Lets not forget how much strength was needed for Violet to shoot Minnie, considering it all. Also, in Violet and Clem's dancing scene, if you look hard enough, you notice that their pupils dilate. (Pupils dilate when you look at someone you love) Not only that, but Violet's character goes a lot deeper than Louis's does. Violet isn't supposed to be an edgy girl wannabe, but a believable, somewhat broken type of girl. Louis is just seems like the kinda guy who would say those things to any pretty girl, but Vi actually gets deep with Clem. Talking about her past and all that isn't something she'd just let anyone in on. You know the feelings are mutual when Violet tells Clem things like that. The relationship just feels more realistic, it has time to develop. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate you for shipping Clouis at all, and as much as I don't like this ship personally, I wouldn't go after you for liking Gabentine either. I don't really get the point of fighting over ships. Ships are purely based on _opinion._ and there's no need to go fighting someone else, possibly lowering their self esteem because you don't agree with someone else's opinion.
Violet seemed uninterested in Clementine. Their relationship felt extremely platonic and they had zero romantic chemistry, the confession kind of came out of nowhere which is why their relationship is forced as hell. Also, Louis is a much deeper character and Clouis is a much deeper relationship. Also, he isn’t someone who would just say nice things to a pretty girl, he genuinely fell in love with Clem and managed to forgive Clem for Marlon’s death. All Vi talked about was her ex and herself, she seemed uninterested (romantically) in Clem. Clouis developed much more smoothly and it felt way more natural. Lou is a better romantic partner, Vi and Clem are better off as friends.

(11:11) the intimacy shows, vi looked so at peace when she hugged clem, and if you look closely, both of their eyes dilate at different points in the scene. vi's: 11:37, when she blinks and looks back up into clementine's eyes, her pupils appear dilated. clem's: 11:41, clem looks away, blinks and then we can see her pupils expand more clearly than vi's.
Vi is just as badass as Clem plus you have to be smart with what you do when you're captured don't be a yapping bird, be quiet and wait for your mates to rescue you that way no one loses a tongue. Gets shit done. Plus l like people like her. She compliments Clem personality. ❤️🏳️🌈
Clem always looks so uncomfortable around Lou. But Vi and her, they look so right for each other. lmao. Also, on the bridge, Clem screams "NO!!! VIOLET!" if she dies, but if you have Lou, all she says is: " No!!! Louis!"
I always thought the louis and clem romance was awkward. Like I just seem them as friends. Clem acts more interested in Vi especially in the romantic moments.
With the way my clem was a tough, take no shit survivor with a slight merciful side and soft side Vi made more sense than Louis since she is similar. I would have gone with a guy if they were similar but Vi was the only person in my head that made sense with my clem. If Clem is a more merciful and kinder more innocent soul louis makes more sense. I also didn't pick louis because he reminded too much of one of my irl friends and he seems more like friend material than relationship material. Plus Louis didn't take survival seriously, Vi does.
Its hard, I'm Clouis but I love Violetine too. Both are great characters but I wish somehow the one you didn't choose get someone. They both deserve it.
I always saw Clouis as Louis following Clem. A leader and a follower type of relationship. Louis is a goofball, yes, and a lot of us wanted him to just shut the fuck up,...strangely enough Lily cuts off his tongue in one of the routes lol but, to me, yes hes light-heartedly and what not, the opposite of Clem. But, he wasnt a grounded character. Loyal, but not always on Clem's side, though by the end, with Marlon dead he sticks with you only cuz you prove yourself to him. But Violet, she's a leader in the making. Grounded, not always positive, but because she has a clear view of reality (possible reason why her eyesight being gone is an outcome.) But, she and Clem supported each other. Violet off the bat felt that Clem was worthy, she knew Clem had seen hell and back and made harsh choices. Violet admired that, and through the arc, her personality became similar to Clem's. Becoming a leader who pushed through the opposition and got shit done. I will ship Vi with Clem just cuz of that. They are a power couple.
Vi wasn’t a good leader though. Also, just because they’re similar doesn’t mean they’re the better romantic couple. They’re better off as friends, who can relate to eachother. That’s about it, Clouis has actual romantic chemistry.

Honestly, I've seen enough route games to figure when the route was last minute thing to just support LGBTQ and when they're well written enough to have been prepared from the get-go. Violentine, in my opinion, is good but not as solid as Clouis .. Then again, the game isn't really a love visual novel kind of game, so obviously, the hetero pair gets a more well thought plot line. On a side note, I actually like the how childish and how jerk move what Louis did to his parents. Hopeful, how we make bad decisions. And how its still possible to move passed it.

Guillermo Domínguez de la Fuente Louis is the comic relief character of the season, and having him around in episodes 3 and 4 without capture is a decent experience And he definitely isn’t a coward or shallow, seeing as he puts the other school members above himself (saves Clem, Tenn, helps AJ, proclaims he needs to do more to defend the school, etc.)

I choosed Violet for Clem already in my first Playthrough. I don't hate Louis (I think he's a nice Guy and did some good and also brave Things for Clem and AJ), but I think that Clem and Violet belong together more. It also felt more heartwarming for me seeing theyr Romance.
The Reason for my Decision:
Sorry to say that (it's just my Opinion), but I absolutely don't like that Louis tries right from the Start (before even knowing Clem long enough) to flirt with her (and how he's pretty sure that he would get her all the Time) and teasing a Relationship to the Player that Way (it felt like "Hey Player, you see this funmaking Dreadlock-Guy? He's supposed to be Clem's Boyfriend, you know?"). It felt too rushed for me. And I also didn't like his Dialogs to Clem during the Card-Games (especially because he also talked bad about her Hat). Sorry Louis I really like you and you're a nice Guy, but Violet wins for me! ;)
With Clem & Violet it felt for me more realistic how a Romance possibly is developing. No Teasing of a Romance or/and Relationship right from the Start, just learning to know each other first and then we'll see where it goes.

Lets not forget how much strength was needed for Violet to shoot Minnie, considering it all. Also, in Violet and Clem's dancing scene, if you look hard enough, you notice that their pupils dilate. (Pupils dilate when you look at someone you love)
Not only that, but Violet's character goes a lot deeper than Louis's does. Violet isn't supposed to be an edgy girl wannabe, but a believable, somewhat broken type of girl. Louis is just seems like the kinda guy who would say those things to any pretty girl, but Vi actually gets deep with Clem. Talking about her past and all that isn't something she'd just let anyone in on. You know the feelings are mutual when Violet tells Clem things like that. The relationship just feels more realistic, it has time to develop. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate you for shipping Clouis at all, and as much as I don't like this ship personally, I wouldn't go after you for liking Gabentine either. I don't really get the point of fighting over ships. Ships are purely based on _opinion._ and there's no need to go fighting someone else, possibly lowering their self esteem because you don't agree with someone else's opinion.
Violet seemed uninterested in Clementine. Their relationship felt extremely platonic and they had zero romantic chemistry, the confession kind of came out of nowhere which is why their relationship is forced as hell. Also, Louis is a much deeper character and Clouis is a much deeper relationship. Also, he isn’t someone who would just say nice things to a pretty girl, he genuinely fell in love with Clem and managed to forgive Clem for Marlon’s death. All Vi talked about was her ex and herself, she seemed uninterested (romantically) in Clem. Clouis developed much more smoothly and it felt way more natural. Lou is a better romantic partner, Vi and Clem are better off as friends.
Also, Clem didn’t even seem interested in Vi, so Clem confessing to Vi felt extremely forced. They had no romantic chemistry.

With the way my clem was a tough, take no shit survivor with a slight merciful side and soft side Vi made more sense than Louis since she is similar. I would have gone with a guy if they were similar but Vi was the only person in my head that made sense with my clem. If Clem is a more merciful and kinder more innocent soul louis makes more sense. I also didn't pick louis because he reminded too much of one of my irl friends and he seems more like friend material than relationship material. Plus Louis didn't take survival seriously, Vi does.

I always saw Clouis as Louis following Clem. A leader and a follower type of relationship. Louis is a goofball, yes, and a lot of us wanted him to just shut the fuck up,...strangely enough Lily cuts off his tongue in one of the routes lol but, to me, yes hes light-heartedly and what not, the opposite of Clem. But, he wasnt a grounded character. Loyal, but not always on Clem's side, though by the end, with Marlon dead he sticks with you only cuz you prove yourself to him.
But Violet, she's a leader in the making. Grounded, not always positive, but because she has a clear view of reality (possible reason why her eyesight being gone is an outcome.) But, she and Clem supported each other. Violet off the bat felt that Clem was worthy, she knew Clem had seen hell and back and made harsh choices. Violet admired that, and through the arc, her personality became similar to Clem's. Becoming a leader who pushed through the opposition and got shit done.
I will ship Vi with Clem just cuz of that. They are a power couple.
Vi wasn’t a good leader though. Also, just because they’re similar doesn’t mean they’re the better romantic couple. They’re better off as friends, who can relate to eachother. That’s about it, Clouis has actual romantic chemistry.

Honestly, I've seen enough route games to figure when the route was last minute thing to just support LGBTQ and when they're well written enough to have been prepared from the get-go. Violentine, in my opinion, is good but not as solid as Clouis .. Then again, the game isn't really a love visual novel kind of game, so obviously, the hetero pair gets a more well thought plot line.
