Your first night stop over looked great, and probably one of the best kept secrets .... until now that is. A beer review with your breakfast would certainly have not been appropriate. Perhaps the Scottish beer review is next week' I am already looking forward to your update.
Ha ha very good point Roger 🤣 no beer before breakfast is a definite rule 😁 Beer was a challenge, even at the next stop but will share in this week's video 🥰 Have a lovely weekend 😁👍
Welcome to the darkside guys 😂glad you had a good night. I wish more places in England would do this. Its money for old rope and also most people in vans don't leave rubbish and often leave places better than they found them. We brought dog drying bags for our two after you recommended them and they have been an absolute revelation so thank you. Keep being Vantastic guys 😀
Aw thank you and glad you are finding the bags useful, Mollie was literally completely dry apart from her head by the next stop 😂👍 We loved the overnight, can see why you enjoy it so much, very peaceful and hope to do more 🥰
@@VantasticAdventures I think the more you do the safer you feel. That said we both agree, we would always choose a legit pub stop over a park up as we know beyond a shaddow of a doubt then that we are allowed to be there 😊 I do prefer permission to playing in the grey 😂
Thank you 🥰 She was very pleased to be back in the van too 🐶😁 Fortunately the doggy bag works a treat and she was dry by the time we arrived at the next stop 😁
Great video, shame about the weather, but you are both always smiling. Going to forward to our son whose off to Scotland in his camper next weekend & they love wild camping. 👍 thanks
Another excellent video. Amazingly we were there the day after for the farmers market and parked in the same stop. luckily we had the sunshine. We agree with Caroline and cannot see the attraction of wild camping.
As much as I enjoyed your European tour it’s really nice to Mollie again, she is a real beauty. And being a retired trucker I definitely give a thumbs up👍🏻 to that breakfast 😂.
We were in Jedburgh in that scorcher of a week in June. Loved it. Missed that breakfast joint on the way in - yours looked the dogs, Iain. Sorry Caroline, yours not so much 😝🤣🤣
We live 3 miles from where you stopped, walk our dogs here every weekend! Lovely spot! Not too level there, spot up the hill more level. You probably went past our house near Bonchester Bridge en route to Jedburgh! We are on a 6 month motor home tour so we’re not around early August to bump into you on our dog walk, maybe next time!
Oh wow! What a beautiful area can see exactly why you live there ❤️❤️❤️ yes we drove through and commented how lovely it was, really peaceful and picturesque area 🥰 hope you are enjoying your tour, sounds fab! 😁
Brilliant viedo with recommendations for Forestry and Land areas un Scotland. Towards the end Melrose was mentioned, you've probably been there now and I hope enjoyed it, one of our favourites, lovely little village also and walk by the river.
Thank you 🥰 We really enjoyed the stop over, it was so quiet and peaceful 😁 We did move onto Melrose and what an absolute beautiful little place, next week's video will hopefully show a bit more but the river certainly featured, can see why you like it so much 😁
Great trip! Wow it got cold then! One of my projects is to look at refurbishing Jedburgh town hall which you can see in the clip at the top of the road in 16:35 in the video!
Loved your adventures in Germany where we have been a few ago Rudesheim. Just watched your latest video, home territory Scottish Borders is a beautiful area. Look forward to the next one.❤
Aw thank you 🥰 Imagine it would have been lovely growing up in that area, so much to explore but sometimes when live somewhere you can take it for granted, we found that in Chester 😂 trying to explore locally too now 😁 Germany so nice, will definitely return 🥰👍
Ha ha 😂 Mollie would sleep anywhere but not so sure about Caroline... 😂 Great website though to find a spot, hopefully more in the future (if Caroline agrees 😂) 🥰👍
Another great one, shame about the traffic on the journey up. The off grid looked nice and still something we haven't done yet. Jedburgh looked lovely even in the rain. Big oops getting wet but mollie looked cosy in the dry bag thing 👍. Thanks again
Thank you Tim 🥰 yes traffic was typical bank holiday in the UK 😂 coming back was similar too but pleased we got to try off grid 😁👍 Can't believe we left all the rain stuff in the van 😂 amateurs 😂😂😂 fortunately Mollie was dry by the time we arrived at the next stop and we had sunshine 🐶😁😁😁
The forestry stay the night at Black Loch and Stroan Loch are fabulous. There are lovely walks around to the waterfalls at Black Loch and the otter pools at Stroan Loch.
Hi Guy's. A lovely vlog showing how you can wild camp off grid, pity about the weather, guess the views would have been amazing 😢 Driven through Jedburgh a few times in my past job as an LGV driver never knew it was that nice. Saying you were moving onto Melrose just thought we would ask did you visit Earlston ? Lovely to see Mollie back 😊 Take care and enjoy. Paul and Joanne 👍 😉
Thank you both 🥰 we were surprised at Jedburgh too, always used the bypass driving past but well worth a stop 😁 We didn't get up that far sorry, we turned off to Melrose from St Boswell's but hope to be back soon so any recommendations most welcome 😁 The views were nice but on a clear day definitely think we could have seen much more as it was very high up - will have to return, good excuse 😂👍
Great vlog again guys. Interesting to see your first experience of “off grid camping”! Jedburgh looked lovely and I couldn’t believe it at the end of video when you said your off to Melrose. I’m booked in there in October, so have now added Jedburgh to my places to visit itinerary - brilliant timing guys. I’ll be glued to your next video 😉
Looks a nice place to stop - we’ve not tried one of the forestry ones yet so was great to take a look and sounds like everything was good. Nice to see the stars without light pollution isn’t it. That breakfast looked awesome! Added that cafe to the list next time we’re in the area! Shame about the rain 🌧️ but looks like you had a good time. Have a lovely weekend, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Thank you both, breakfast was excellent, great local produce which always helps 🥰 Really good overnight planning on their website too, you can use an interactive map to see where to stop so will definitely try more in the future, as long as Caroline agrees of course 😂👍
We absolutely loved it 🥰 Can see why you return, such a beautiful place and the site is perfectly located for exploring 👍 Hopefully it will be next week's video 😁
Wanchope is just a few minutes from where we live so we have not stopped there but we do go walking the dogs in that area. Melrose CAMC is open all year which is really good as you say.
Looks like you hit the traffic trying to get on at Thelwall and I suspect it cleared when everyone got off at Kendal. Park up looked good and glad Caroline enjoyed it but Iain looks like he's planning more. Breakfast looked great. Cheers K.
Hi both great video. Been following your site for a while and am now seriously looking at trading our VW California for Adventure mainly because of the addition of toilet. Your 3yr review was really helpful but a quick question...what's your thoughts on the automatic? You seem really happy with manual but have you ever thought you might have added that option. Know its really a personal preference but interested in your view after 3 years ownership. Many thanks Steve & Helen.
Hello and thank you for your lovely comments 🥰 the toilet was exactly the reason we went for the Adventure as originally wanted a California, great van too 😁 Not really considered an Auto until very recently, our cars are Autos but didn't really need on the van until Iain had a knee problem and couldn't drive a manual for a few months, an Auto would have been fine so for the next van we will consider just in case but the manual has been great up to now and was easier to get availability too 👍 good luck with your choice, any questions please let us know 😁
Hi Marc, we noticed the same on the sign but it does say on the website at the very top of the page 1 night only, guess there's nothing to stop you moving between sites and if not full and paying sure they would be fine with that 👍
Thanks for a super VLOG as always.
Thank you 🥰 glad you enjoyed it, the next stop was lovely too, can't wait to explore more of the area 😁👍

Great park up

thanks
Thank you 🥰
Great parkup - will give it a go one day.
FYI Car park in Melrose near abbey has free overnight parking for 1 or 2 vans. Enjoy your trip 🏴 👍🏻
Ah thank you so much, we spotted a few vans there and didn't realise that 🥰 will definitely such a lovely place 😁👍
Lovely to see you back out and Caroline enjoyed the night off grid…we’ve still to go off grid - the park up you used looked a good one 😊
Thank you 🥰 it was very easy to do, Caroline was impressed fortunately 😄👍
The forestry stay the night at Black Loch and Stroan Loch are fabulous. There are lovely walks around to the waterfalls at Black Loch and the otter pools at Stroan Loch.
