There’s so much dislike for grappling that I’m surprised kickboxing or muay thai isn’t more popular.

Idk how you don't know this already, but EVERYONE in the UFC cuts weight. And it too comes with drawbacks. The more weight you cut, the more it will compromise your chin and worsen your cardio. So everyone thats a "weightbully" (which don't exist), are just taking a risk. They might be stronger cuz they'll weight a few pounds more, but they pay the cost with their chin and cardio.

That's why Bobby will have wins and losses, and will remain with the UFC making money. Same with guys like Michael Chandler. Ever seen a boring fight from either of these guys? Also don't see them sweating being cut after a loss like some others. His point is valid.
The reason why he hasn't been cut is because he has had some decent wins, if he was losing every fight it wouldn't matter he would be cut.
UFC also pushed a lot of promotion into him when he sacrificed himself to islam.
Grappling is cool, I'm a fan of BJJ and wrestling because they are necessary and all but imagine paying front row tickets expecting a banger and next thing you know it's all on the floor with no action. They should at least let people knee on a grounded opponent like ONE FC to help with the stalling.

Unless it's just hugging and squeezing for 25 minutes, I'm okay with grappling. A nice ground and pound is always exciting to watch. And submission victory is also one of the best thing in MMA and sometimes it's more exciting than KO.

I agree with him to an extent. These guys are entertainers at the end of the day. The entire reason people watch the UFC is because they find it entertaining. Grappling is extremely entertaining and fun to watch, if you know what’s going on. It’s why grappling heavy fighters can be super enjoyable, or be super boring. Islam or even Charles are grappling heavy, but are still entertaining to watch. However Jailton Almeida and Belal Muhammad are grappling heavy and miserable to watch. In a real fight scenario you’re going to deal with wrestlers and grapplers. If people wanna watch stand up wars, they should watch Muay Thai.

My take on it is the grappling/wrestling makes the striking more entertaining than pure striking, for example in mma you get all sorts of different strikers like wonderboy , ilia topuira , Sean o malley , pereira and the scrappy types like Derrick Lewis etc whilst compare that to Thai they pretty much all strike the same the only outlier imo would be Jonathon haggerty.
Plus everyone that watches mma enjoys the grappling and ground and pound , submissions etc just not holding a guy down for 25 minutes. For example if I made a casual watch khabib vs Johnson a grappling clinic compared to izzy vs Romero they will 100% prefer the first option.
I think both pure boxers and pure grapplers are boring with exceptions like Alex periera
