Homeless in these times baffles me , do feel sorry for genuine people who lose it all .

It’s horrible for these homeless people, having to endure sick conditions. It’s so cruel that some people think it’s fun to pull the covers off homeless just for a laugh.

I dunno which is sadder the programme itself or the comments. We say we live in a world where we don't judge others....really?!. It shouldn't matter if drugs n beer has played a part in ppls life they are still human beings with feelings.

so he left his wife and his life just fell apart ?
did the drugs he was taking have nothing to do with the fact he is homeless ?
I am not saying all, but there are people on the streets who would rather spend all their money on drink and drugs, rather than keep a roof over their heads

+Matt Pemberton Addiction is a mental health issue Matt and one which has to be taken seriously. If you have ever experienced severe addiction you would understand that it isn't just as easy as flicking a switch on/off and controlling one self from chosen addiction. I've encountered succesful business people with their whole lives ahead of them, perfect job, wife, children, and with Alcoholism (which is supplied legally here in UK) they have lost everything. I'm sure they would choose their wife and children over a bottle of beer but when addiction reins supreme, it can dictate actions on your behalf.

Sometimes you've got to just say no to your cravings. Addiction needn't be difficult.

again very ignorant comment....Cravings are different than actual chemical addiction.

I am simply championing the effectiveness of willpower, it seems to be underestimated nowadays.

when i was homelss on and off for 17yrs ,if i couldnt get in a hostel id find a abandoned house with a fire place bin linners to cover the normal broken windows and cardboard block all ways in to the building ,shopping trolleys bits of car parts ,seats out the back of abandoned cars used to sleep on make a room as small as ossible to keep heat in ,,,then find a area with a good cover of bushes and trees in a nature reserve best as water sites around the paths ,find a fallen bigish tree dig a foot down at the edge fill ditch with black bin linners with screwed up paper and leaves ,tie 2 together and make sure most of the air is out place in the ditch put stones or logs at each end up to the big tree ,,if you can find roof loft insulation as well cover the bags and sides and above ,cover with a tarp or cardoard cover with fire ash and car or truck oil ,ash and oil mixed together makes it sticky and dry faster, ,and a shelter built dry warm ,and no hassle from police pissheads and others a little rocket stove to cook on and heat the space up,,i went through 2 winters in a shelter built from that stuff and unless some walked off the path 70 yards into brambles and thick bushes couldnt see my shelter

Most people who are homeless do not take drugs! And the ones that do are usually in hostels not sleeping on the streets! When you are sleeping out on the streets your main priority is to buy enough warm clothing and a decent warm sleeping bag and possibly a tent. Most junkies are fake homeless who have flats but go out during the day to beg for money to buy drugs. You can easily tell the fake beggars because they will sit in the rain with a sleeping bag around them and have no big bags with them. A genuine homeless person would never let their sleeping bag get wet in the rain!
