Lewistown pa checking in. I haven't missed a televised notre dame game since 1987. I was so impressed. This is the best season opening win since beating Michigan in 1990, in notre dame stadiums first night game, and the biggest road win since Oklahoma in 2012. We should be 12-0 going to USC Thanksgiving weekend. GO IRISH!!!❤
Love the cope from SEC fans now - went from “you can’t handle the heat, 5 star recruits, potential NFL QB” to “weak, boring game, Connor sucks and congrats to beating a middle of the pack SEC team”. That was a statement win and great win. Props to ND scheduling College Station week 1 and being more physical.
@@drizzle452 100%. Living in the south I’ve heard the same thing for years. This one seems hard to look over but it’s whatever. If ND can start competing and winning against SEC teams more consistently then that crap how an away. The ball is still in our court but that was a fun win!
Great post game. Going forward USC looked dangerous because both of the roster, and for the first time in California, Riley looked like a dangerous play caller. Probably tougher match than against FSU... That is probably the main challenge to going undefeated. Go Irish
Not having attended either game, how did the environment compare to the opener in Columbus? When saban made that comment about Freeman not having coached in that type of environment, I thought saban was MAYBE being an SEC/ESPN homer.
This is the third time in the Marcus Freeman era and all 3 have been in the last 2 season that Notre Dame has committed 10 or more penalties in a game. All 3 of those game have been on the road and all 3 have been victories. NC state, Duke, and now A&M.
Still is a thing that needs to be cleaned up but ultimately his teams on a season scale do not commit a lot of penelties. But yea part of it is its tough to play sound ball on the road
I like our changes against the top 5 teams if RL can improve his accuracy and being a better pocket passer. Hopefully, he will improve by the Louisville game.
The almost pick 6 JT broke up was on JT, not Leonard - JT himself would tell you that, you can’t sit out there and wait for a throw to the far hash, you have to come back to it, and he came back way too late.
Multiple reporters on the ND beat picked Texas A&M in this game as did Vegas. Do you want them to give their honest opinion or give an opinion that will most please ND fans. I want their honest opinions. Pete does a great job. Is he an ND fan? Probably but if he just takes a neutral objective view, that’s fine with me.
Predictable post-game response. A&M dEfEnsE is ELiTE, tHeIR hOmE field wilL dEstRoy ND! Post game: yeah, A&M just not that good. Such disrespect fir NDs elite defense. If not for some self inflicted wounds and relatively easy misplays by Riley L, they'd have won by 20+.
@@Law_Dogg I'm a ND fan, and A&M is not that good, repeat, not that good. And nobody anywhere thinks they are. They are the ultimate little brother program, perpetually underachieving, and this time they're breaking in a new coach because they had finally reaching a breaking point of mediocrity under their previous coach. So a nice win in a loud stadium, gotta have it if we're going to make the playoff, and that's about all there is to say. Saying much more than that merely draws attention to ND's own previous failings and shortcomings that everyone has become accustomed to.
@user-zh1th8sz2l Mmm kay if you were saying that before the game, but my comment is direxted at the national narrative that A&M would eat ND alive. And that D line has 3 NFLers on it, so we'll see how good they are as the season continues. I'm obv rooting for them. You seem like the kind of ND fan who's fixated on the past 25 years of Heartbreakers. It's a new day, enjoy it. ☘️
Also, I think you guys are missing something huge - which is Denbrock's playcalling. Too often he has designed QB runs. Riley Leonard had the most carries/yards until Jeremiah Love's final 3 runs for 40 yards and a TD. We will not last the season with Leonard at QB if Denbrock uses him like he's Tebow or Cam. Malik Zaire started 2015 incredibly well, and then his ankle broke on his 10th carry in the 3rd Qtr vs UVA. Denbrock ran Kizer an average of 13 times a game for the final 9 games of 2015 *after* we'd already lost Zaire on a QB draw. Freeman needs to realize his captain will not finish the season, or will be too banged up to be effective through an absurdly long season if ND intends to make the playoff.
A lot of those runs are designed runs. Even Riley said he was missing reads. If anything he struggled with read options because he didn't keep the ball enough and led the backs into piles. And his RPOs he pulled it to much and wasn't hitting the speedster on slants. There was no issue with how much Riley ran. A lot of his rushes came to avoid sacks and ND gave up zero sacks because of it. The issues were Riley wasn't running, passing or handing it off at the correct moments consistently enough but that is super normal when it's game 1 on the road breaking in a whole new system

I'm really proud of the ND effort tonight. The 2nd half of Qtr. 4 proved ND's conditioning and quality of depth. LET"S GO IRISH

Coach Freeman is now 2-0 vs the SEC (aggies, gamecocks)
That’s par for the course. If ND loses, they suck. If they win, the team they play sucks. It’s been going on since the beginning of time.

Love you guys!! Thanks 🙏 for the hard work!!
For over a month I’ve heard all the “Experts” saying a&m wins this game. It’s a different kind of heat down there, 12th man…….. Wrong! Go Irish ☘️
Was hoping to see some more Mitchell Evans but it was refreshing to see majority of passes go to WR
GREAT SHOW GENTS

We still love ya Pete. Although I was cursing you on the podcast prediction.

I don’t understand the criticism of Pete. He is objective and fair to ND. Smart guy with good insight.
Pete did it hurt your feelings when ND won?
This 👆😂
@@mtrefethen1 We need some "We're No. 1" foam fingers for ND. Wait, wrong finger? LOL
He absolutely looks a little butt hurt lmao😅
I understand his pick going in. So wait you don’t want objective opinions you want homers? If you want homers can I ask why?
Yes. Video of Weigman barfing.
The look on his face belonged on Halloween, I was puzzled for a moment until the vomit came out. Very physical matchup as expected.
GO IRISH! ☘️
Are you guys in the same office building?
Pete is rarely right about football.

Not just another business trip for MF!
Best win of the opening weekend??? Pete - Miami crushed UF in Gainesville.
UF isn’t ranked or that good
Georgia smothering Clemson was the most impressive to me.
@@drizzle452 on the road vs in Atlanta.

Dah. Stop that.
Absolutely! 😂😂😂
It was a good win. I just don't think A&M that's good. I figure 7-5 is where they'll finish up.
