My daughter bought one from the door to door salesman. I could not let go of over $2,000 so I bought a refurbished E series with new attachments. I am thrilled with how it works. My other vacuum is a Kirby and I believe it conditions the carpet better, but the Rainbow takes out more dirt. Refurbished is the way to go in my humble opinion, but hey I don't buy new cars either.
Thank you for your very informative instructions. My parents had a very old Rainbow when I was a child, and a while ago, they had purchased a replacement one. When they passed away, I inherited their Rainbow Vacuum. I tried to use it this past week, and the 'roller attachment' piece started to smell like burning rubber, and it stopped turning. After your video, I was able to clean it out (I don't think that it had EVER been cleaned out) and tomorrow, I am going to try to use it again. Keep your fingers crossed!
I just got this make and model from the Facebook marketplace place for free!! I have all pieces shown in your video (minus the aqua mate). Thank you so much for such a great and detailed video! Hope to see more of your videos.
Thanks for your videos! What’s the proper way to clean the black rubber water basin gasket? Mine gets dirty with each use and my dog’s hair gets stuck in a tiny gap of the gasket seam. Is this normal?
I not only sold the Rexair Rainbow cleaning system but have been an owner for over 12 years. I was not mislead about the water catching everything.,...my salesperson explained it gets most but still needs a filter. Rainbows are still better than Kirby or Dysons.
The filter in the back is bull crap. My unit kept sounding clogged. I have worked on vacuums for years, AND that filter restricts air flow. I took the insert out, tore out that media, and it made a world of difference!!! The water still captures 99% of the dirt, and dust. Why put a filter in, that harms the performance????
@@ryanneel1029so I would just like to point out that the Hepa filter filters out the carbon dust from the motor and the water does not catch every thing, especially if you use the air purifier mode, the water doesn’t get agitated enough so the dust just skims over it and goes straight into the filter.
Yes, you can. The rainbow fragrances do have a stronger smell than most aftermarket fragrances and essential oils. Just be careful to rinse out your water basin after you use non-rainbow fragrances because they can leave an oily residue on the water basin, be sure to clean the separator too, the oil will also build up on it. I hope this helps with your rainbow.
Hi. Thanks for this video. My parents had an E2 series system and didn't properly care for it. What you said on it smelling like sewage happened to ours, is there really nothing that can be done? I was hoping that deep cleaning could work but it didn't. Thanks!
the only thing I would recommend is having it taken apart by a service rep and having them detail it and replace the hepa filter on the back... as far as the basin clorox and pinesol or fabuloso or odoban and let it soak in it for a day or two
@@gagainer thanks for the update here! I was able to contact the service support to have it cleaned up. Hopefully, it will turn out okay after maintenance. :)
Thanks for your videos, but I want to know if I must add special detergents for rainbow company to the water to do the cleaning or just run the vacuum with just a clean water?
Hey I bought a used E series Rainbow vacuum and I love it. I'm interested in the E2 power head you showed, but I can't afford to upgrade to a E2 12 series. So will it work on my E series? Also will the shampoo attachment work on my E series? Mine is not the older E series, but it's still the E series. Thank you in advance for your help.
I appreciate the information but I wish you would have showed us exactly how to pop that bottom off the rotator head of the vacuum. I’m having trouble getting mine off! As you said that lady had Band-Aids hair you name it it was all up in there but I can’t seem to get mine to come off. Would love a detailed how to on that!
Another question please 🙏🏻 i have a black e2 series, but the water basin doesn't turn on the led lights, is there a way to tell if it has them or it's damaged?
Ok so basically the led bulbs have probably burned out. It is best you take it to a local rainbow dealer to have them repaired. If you didn’t buy the vacuum directly from rainbow or through a rainbow in home demo I’d recommend taking it to a local vacuum shop instead of a rainbow dealer. I hope this helps. Have a wonderful day.
I have a brand new (old stock) aquamate am12 that is missing a wheel. Cannot order just the wheel and they want to sell the whole chassis. do you know where I could find a used wheel?
I just purchased an e series from a garage sale...i know. Anyhow, when I plugged it in (I haven't cleaned it yet) It smelled like rubber burning. Do you think I should try cleaning it first or did I just buy a bad/broken vaccum?
Yes helpful video. Airflow cleans.....suction is not enough. We know vacuum bags do not work....unless you want dirt and bacteria blowing up into the air when you turn on a vacuum that uses bags.
People are saying this model is much better than the new SRX. They say it had more suction, and less airflow whereas the SRX has more airflow and less suction. Yet, by the time the airflow is at the power nozzle, it’s very little and has reduced significantly. A Miele or Sebo has much more airflow and suction.

G Gainer thank you for replying!!! The pole won’t stand up. Normally you would lightly put your foot on the power head to get ready for vacuuming then upright while not vacuuming. G Gainer I figured it out. It was the suction head with the rotation brush thanks for your video.
