Born in the same year myself. Our era was basically the golden era for commercializing products aimed at kids. He-Man was created as a toy line with the cartoon show an afterthought of how to promote it, basically a 20min tv advertisement...brilliant! We had it great though with original Transformers, Voltron, GI Joe, Toxic Crusaders, hand held nintendo games, WWF thumb wrestlers and then the hasbro line, commodore 64 and The Amiga 500, nintendo and Sega Master System, Micro Machines, Garbage Pail Kids and heaps more. AEWSOME TIMES!

I just keep most of them in their packaging and display them on my wall, but also have a shelf for the ones that I found without the packaging or felt the need to open for whatever reason. I get so much shit for that being one of the things I collect from some people, but really don't care cause they remind me of being a kid and make me happy, so who is anyone to tell me what I can and can't spend my money on?

I don’t know why this comment reminded me.. I put my my TMNT Metalhead action figure on my friends chair after he stood up for the pledge of allegiance in 1991. He never noticed and sat down hard causing him to yelp and leap up. The teacher unfairly bitched him out and he got a trip to the principals office. Metalhead went back in my backpack before anyone knew what really happened.

I'm from 96 so I didn't see a lot of these toys but I do remember a lot. The early 2000 shared a lot of things from the 90s. I've never gotten rid of anything I've owned. My room right now is full of old toys on the shelves. Gameboy colors, PS1 games, stretch Screamers, Furbies, Beanie Babies, Don't Wake Daddy, mousetrap , Simon, I spy books. The list goes on and on. Not to be insulting, but you remind me of a not so silent "Silent Bob". I also have a lot of my toys and things from growing up and have replaced things thru ebay. I managed to replace my early Sony SOundabout from 1983 which was an early Walkman with great sound, loud as hell and amazing fm am radio which I get am stations from across the country and once fading in and out from Russia. I have the original "Eye of the Storm" plasma globe, the Sony Watchman, Kodak Disc camera, 1982 Polaroid instant camera, Sanyo M9994 boom box I got in 1978, many Matchbox cars, View Master and slides, and so many more things, but I have to say my favourite collection growing up that I still have is my record collection. Started buying records age 3 and still buying today at age 48. Still have every record I ever bought which comes handy as the dj that I am today. Great video, I enjoyed it. Thank you. Joe

I don´t often press like on videos. I only do it to save videos to watch later for some reason. HOWEVER, this video made me press the like button out of sheer joy. this video is like a representation of the untouched and uncorrupted soul that only a child could still have. I have no memories of ANY of these items as i am too young, but Kevin, you still made me feel nostalgic and i forgot about every worry i have. Finals due to next monday, me not being good enough for anything, not having any money left for the month, bills, the fact that i should be studying and much more. WHOOSH just pure childish joy for a great half an hour. This world can seem bleak and hopeless, and it is. the only light that exists in the dark is the one that people create. it exists in spite of the world not because of it.
I may be nothing, a no-one, but for what it´s worth i´m looking for something good, and maybe i can create something good to alleviate someone else´s suffering like you did with mine.
    cheers kevin.
    and
    Have a good day

He did some work on an old mechanical pinball machine we had and got it working right again. Electro-mechanical genius on top of being a talented machinist, welder, you name it. Also a solid family man, and a nice guy.

I buried some things that don't mean shit but I have bunboxed GI Joe's and unopened McDonald's and Burger King toys + a bunch of comic cut outs and a coin collection paired with my small rock and mineral collection. Memory is great and even if I never make it back to dig up what I buried as a child. The purpose even then was in hope that someone opens it up one day and goes "wow look at this stuff" LMAO

I opened them all, broke nearly all of them from constant use, and I feel sorry for anyone that didn't play with these toys and kept them for a later date just to make a few bucks.
