Personally I don't think the Western Rise Meta Shell can be considered for this year's awards. I know it's supposed to be starting manufacturing soon, but nobody from the Kickstarter has gotten theirs yet. They haven't even been made yet, as of last update. How can anyone vote on something they've never tried?
Hey Brandon, thanks for the message. Kickstarter's fall into a tricky spot with our awards as they sometimes take 12-18 months to deliver from release. By that time, the products are no longer 'new' and illegible. That said, there's a wealth of reviews of the products online to guide your voting. It really is kinda hard for any member of the community to try every product that's nominated, so 1) we recommend reading reviews to inform your votes and 2) we pair community voting with voting from our contributors, so folks who have first-hand knowledge and have tested every product can vote too, to balance everything out.
@@CarryologyTV I've seen all the reviews but I'll wait to pass a verdict on mine until I get it. 😁 Western Rise products have been hit or miss for me (some awesome, some mediocre) and my thoughts don't always align with the reviews. Personally I don't vote for products I haven't used in the awards, as a matter of personal integrity, but I'm sure that doesn't apply to everyone. If the awards were "most exciting new product in X category" I'd feel differently about voting. Otherwise it's like reviewing a movie I haven't seen.
Thanks for shooting! I also live in Chicago and think the Mission Workshop pants sound like they’d hold up well here in colder months as a more protective everyday option.

The jacket from Western Rise may be made from good material, but it looks unattractive. It is suitable for traveling in wild places. When you want your items to sell well, you should take the design into consideration as well.
Can these be shot better in the future? Terrible shots of the gear on. And the state of travel clothing is super, super boring. Super. Super. Also, a pocket on the back of the thigh doesn't sound like a great innovation.

Absolutely not. Sorry but these are EXTREME light weight. I’d even say summer only in Chicago, imo
