I've been binge watching a bunch of these competitions recently and this course by far is the hardest one out of the ones I've watched recently. Lots of falls, refusals and miss haps and lots of beautiful horses!
I love watching the longines streams because they almost always have more than one commentator, instead of one poor person having to maintain a monolog for hours. It's much more relaxed and informative
Yes! I also loved how he made a real effort to not step on the rider. And then he fell on his butt, got up and pranced away, like saying "ok, that happened, moving on" XD
Poor horses 🐎 getting forced to jump higher and higher, stop using spurs and a whip, the whip should be used on the riders😡 pulling on the reins constantly 🤬hurting the poor horses 🐎 in the mouth 😕 😣
I was thinking the same thing. Horrific, the poor horse. And the commentator called them “lovely” whilst she was having a long hard pull. How can they live with themselves.
maybe she could try a different bit it looks like the horse is in a D ring and I was struggling to see what noseband she had on it looked like a caveson which is basically decoration or it could be a crownwood H noseband which has the similar effect as a flash, drop , grakle type nosebands but whatever is in their mouths or on their noses it's still stainless steel on gum no need to haul or saw it would be so uncomfortable this is how hard mouths are created it's not nessary we get told this at ponyclub or more like told off for this
I enjoyed your video today! I like the gloves Susan is wearing. They look very nice fitting and seem to allow for more precise movement of the hands. Do you sell them at Andrews? 😊
@@angelaschmalzbauer spurs are only cruel if you using them incorrectly, they are meant to be an Extension of your leg and your shouldn't be full on kicking with them on, only slightly touching to help the horse
Not so sure the footing was that good, it seems the footing was making jumping rather difficult in fact, too soft, wet maybe, the horses struggled to get up and were slipping rather often. Not exactly a ploughed field but a slip here a slip there doesn't make good footing or secure jumping. I think most of the faults were due to this as the course though big was pretty straight forward.
Amy Englis doesn't have quite the control she should have and she's jerking the rains and she's pulling the bit too tight which is hurting the horse's mouth and that's the reason he was acting up and that's also the reason that he couldn't focus on jumping the fences! She needs to majorly work on her reins work and not be so jerky because it confuses the horse! Also if you're pulling on the rein too much and hurting the horses mouth they're going to act up and kick that's exactly what she was doing!
Such a horrific world where a rider a saw their hands the whole way around a course and the commentators call it a lovely round instead of calling the rider out for pulling on the horses mouth the whole time. What’s wrong with you people??? You can’t support this and call yourself a horse person. Horrific hands Lilly Attwood, your poor horse, take a good look at yourself, your poor sweet horse deserves better than you. I hope you improve and have much success with soft hands.
Shame on the cruel disgusting rider 😡😣👎hurting that poor horse 🐎 pulling on the reins constantly is painful in the horses mouth 😡 shame on you you should get punished for that 👊👊👊😡🤬😣
Ellen Whitaker was really good, it’s a shame they had poles down. Spacecake, her horse, was so careful and scopes. They just didnt quite get those distances right.
Lilly Attwood needs to be more quiet with her hands and sit still in the saddle then her horse would have been a lot more stable and listening to her more i just felt so sorry for the horses poor mouth been sawed at like that
It’s not usually easily, it’s a lot of times loosing confidence in your riding. Happened to me 2 years ago when I fell at a smaller oxer and a higher ranking in my lesson giggled a bit. It’s crazy how something so small hurts you so much.
These horses are not being taught to raise their legs high enough on their front legs and especially on their back legs and that is why they're knocking all the fences down! We know a way to get them to bend their front legs and their back legs is high as possible! If anyone wants to know the technique Text us and we'll explain how it's done!
The poor horses 🐎 should not have to jump higher and higher, its very cruel animal abuse 👎 😡 you people should jump with someone on top of you with spurs and a whip

Hey! Some riders are awful! And in every sport there is some players that are awful and only care about winning. But the connection some of the riders have with the horses is fasinating! And the Spurs are not Sharp at all its round! The whip is used as correcting to get more activity or tell them something is wrong. If they dint want to jump they would’t. Humans are not stranger than horses, and the horses love What they do, their ears is straigth forward witch means they are happy❤

the seesawing is unmatched with some of these riders
No one can ride like Marcus Ehning 😎 it's a pleasure to watch him every single time.
You got that right. Although the Brazilian is quite good. Some rider's pull on the horses mouth too much ..ugh
Third horse was absolutely beautiful and was doing so great, shame that happened :(
It is always mesmerizing to watch horses & riders at this level. So beautiful to human & equine strive for perfection as a team.

Surprised to see Beerbaum there after all the abuse charges against him, makes me wonder what that horse went through.
There so respectful if u go to 20:55 it says hickstead if u look up him he’s a horse who died from a seizure during a show rip the legend
I love Ernie so much. The fact that he trotted off only to pop back up on screen getting chin scritches from the camera man was comedy gold
