The Liebherr LTM 1350 is a powerful mobile hydraulic crane. It comes standard with a maximum lift capacity of 386 tons (350 t), a main boom max length of 230 ft. (70 m), and a max jib length of 256 ft. (78 m). It’s powered by an eight-cylinder, water-cooled Liebherr turbo diesel engine that produces up to 612 (450 kW) and a 127-galgallon (481 L) fuel tank. It comes standard with a ZF type TC-TRONIC automatic transmission system with 12 forward speeds and 2 reverse speeds, and a transfer case with transfer differential. The Liebherr LTM 1350 comes with a spacious, sheet steel cab that is mounted on rubber shock absorbers. It’s fitted with air suspended operator and passenger seats, heated mirrors, safety glazing all around, storage racks, and cutting-edge crane controls. The telescopic boom consists of the base section and five telescopic sections which can be automatically extended and pinned to the requested length by the single cylinder telescoping system known as TELEMATIK.
the cost of 1 liebherr crane tire is 2500 dollar the brakes 1200 dollar a piece X12 and with that weight these machines go through these things waay faster than any company wants ^^

Just an idea, instead of driving the crane in reverse to unload from the trailer, what if extract the four legs of the crane then pull the trailer up? It seems lots of risks involved in driving the crane reverse to unload, there are big chances of tipping over, damaging equipment, derailing, getting stuck.
+Builder99 Police would have been monitoring the overall site from a distance -- mainly diverting local traffic around the work area so the guys could work unimpeded. But no doubt the Police were aware of the 'movement' of such a large item of machinery and would have responded quickly to any mishap.
+ImForwardlook There are a few in England and in Europe - imported by fans of the breed - but they are not the very rugged Australian manufactured ones. The Australian built KW is very different from those built by the parent company in USA and Mexico or Brazil.
So many questions. Why did the driver not alter the weight on each axle so as to reduce the pressure and strain on tyres and chassis? Why did he not take his foot of the brakes? What was the point of extending the riggers? Why did he not just drive to site like we do? How wide was the trailer as when I have loaded them on a low-loader the wheels of the crane just hang over the edge of the trailer by an inch on both sides.

How tall is the loaded crane on the lowboy? Is the Aussie infrastructure built high enough for clearance for easy navigation? If my customers see this, they’ll want me to buy a transport like that.
Most standard bridges and tunnels in Australia 4.6 metres or 15 feet in height with a permit. 4.3 metres is the standard maximum. Over dimensional routes are available around most cities. Would be a quite a task to shift an oversize load, as you never know where it will come from and where it is going to, and the route has to be thoroughly measured beforehand. Sagging power lines would cause problems too. Or where extra pay tv cables have been added to the pole below the power lines.
+Jay Solis Called a stoneguard they are common on highway trucks in Australia and are designed to prevent stones and other debris from chipping and cracking the windshield. Particularly useful when travelling on non bitumen (tarmac) roads covered in stones (known as ripio in South America) or where a bitumen road in the country has received a new layer of bluemetal' (basalt) stones that may not have adhered to the underlying bitumen.
+alex Perez It's called a stoneguard and helps prevent damage from stones and debris that may be thrown up by passing or overtaking vehicles to this vehicles windscreen. It only protects the bottom half of the windscreen -- better than nothing --- because to have it higher would restrict the drivers view of the road ahead, which is a very strict No No No !!!!!!!!!! in Australia.

Also, why didn't they use the big crane that was on the trailer instead ? Now they had to bring in an extra crane (at least, that's what I'm assuming).
