Thanks to all who liked the video. Unfortunately, our mother passed away, and she was laid to rest today, March 11, 2016. She was in poor health for some time, but she was able to go for one last ride in this Jeep, this past summer.
I'm sorry for your loss, I lost my own mother to ALS jan 21st of this year, they are both up their talking, I teared up when your papa saw his jeep, you are a good man!
No better way to surprise your father and to show how grateful you are for all the gifts that he gave you by using those gifts to gift him something so special good on you guys
It's a very nice thing when grown children can come together and buy there Fathers very best vehicle that they used to own and something in their lives changed and they had to sell that vehicle
I feel happy for you...you have a family, all of you are together and helping each other...unfortunately it is not my case...but enjoy ...enjoy...enjoy....be happy!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ah man, being in the jeep family since i started driving this video hit me right in the feels... thanks for the upload... last 17 years i've always had a (real/not grand) cherokee and a daily driver, but it's a cj i want to spend my retirement with.
What a beautiful Jeep--lovely color as well. I once had a white, nicely trimmed 1987 YJ Laredo and sold it because there was too much damage on it that it wasn't worth repairing it. I was a fool for selling it when I reminisce about it, but will buy me another one when i get the money together. A CJ-5 with a nice V8 engine would be my dream. A Willys like that would do as well. Great car!
People have to be careful with these strong emotions to old people...their hearts are not very strong anymore....observe how grandpa touches his chest with his right hand....
Damn. That must have been his favorite car for him to have kept its rotting pieces around for 30 years. I bet waking up one day and having that thing rolling around, looking brand new must have been like having an old friend suddenly come back to life.
Excellent story and video! I've been searching for my Dad's 1964 Olds Cutlass for years. How did you find your Dad's jeep? Any input or guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, ~Paul
after not having a dad while growing up after i retired i got the chance to stay with him and go fishing he has passed on and my mother has also passed but for her it was cooking her meals as she would take extra shifts at the prison as a Security Guard did 30 years before she retired and dad was a truckdriver
+Ace0100 Oh lol did not think it was a kid at first, did not look at the head I only saw the bulge in his jacket and thought maybe it was a dog or something. Did not notice it was a baby until I saw your comment.
Jason Iskandar Yeah, we all hear the moan. Everybody there knew about the Jeep, except for mom and dad, so my brother, who helped build the Jeep, sounded bummed when someone else said that it can't be a car.

lol anyone notice that kid inside the dads jacket near the start (not sure if its his dad)
Ace0100 Yeah, he is holding his daughter in his coat. It was chilly out there in the shop, in Iowa, in December.
+Ace0100 Oh lol did not think it was a kid at first, did not look at the head I only saw the bulge in his jacket and thought maybe it was a dog or something. Did not notice it was a baby until I saw your comment.
Mark Hurst (late response) but i also live in iowa and it is cold in the winter.
This is awesome but what's up with the color? I can't imagine the grandpa likes that color. If he does then it's awesome!
He loves the lime green. He's had three Jeeps that are lime green.. you can see his second one on the background, on a couple of occasions.
