  • “Contemporary hotel” refers to a hotel type that embraces current trends, styles, and design concepts. These hotels often feature modern architecture, elegant interior design, and innovative amenities to appeal to contemporary tastes and preferences.
The term “contemporary hotel” reflects a forward-thinking approach to hospitality that aims to remain relevant and attractive to today’s travelers.
Contemporary hotel design goes beyond merely modern aesthetics. It is about creating a holistic experience through thoughtful details that enhance functionality, comfort, and an overall sense of place.
Nostalgia has long been recognized as an important factor in tourism consumption and production (Hewison, Citation1987). However, the relationship between nostalgia and tourism is complex, with the explanatory power of nostalgia as a tourism motivation centering primarily on tourism to heritage sites (Dann, Citation1995; Park et al., Citation2018). Therefore, cultural tourism is the most common theoretical lens through which the relationships between nostalgia and tourism and related terms such as nostalgia tourism are studied (Caton & Santos, Citation2007; Kim, Citation2005; Newland & Taylor, Citation2010). For example, nostalgia has been linked to historical events in cultural tourism by examining the relationships between socio-cultural conditions and cultural tourism institutions (Kim, Citation2005). The events or experiences of the past can shape travelers' perceptions and experiences of a destination (Bandyopadhyay, Citation2008). However, the environment of a destination is subject to change over time, and therefore nostalgia can have a significant impact on the gap between the perception of a destination and the present reality (Hall & Page, Citation2014), which can also affect satisfaction (Sæþórsdóttir & Hall, Citation2020).
