I liked Elizabeth better as a ghost character. She felt like such an intimidating force. But in the England storyline, she just seems ill-prepared, mopey and impulsive. She makes far worse and more dangerous choices than Mary, but seems in a much better place. Her character is ruled by fear but we don't actually see the things she's afraid of. In her first eight-ten episodes, she is powerful, she has an advisor William who is in her corner, as well as Lord Robert Dudley, Donatella and Catherine de frickin Medici. She keeps speaking of her enemies, but rarely see them, which makes her look irrational. In the show, Elizabeth has gone through a lot of trauma and a horrible childhood, but we don't see it. She's at her peak of power and safety when we meet her. Hell, are we expected to pity the woman who married Condé and then invaded France, causing the death of thousands out of mere hunger for power?
I stopped watching Reign somewhere during season 2 when it aired and never came back to it so I didn't expect the whiplash of nostalgia I got from those first few seconds of the intro. I completely forgot the show had an intro at all Edit after finishing the video: the entire video is so good. You did such a great job, now I'm actually thinking of rewatching it from S2
God this show reminds me watching it in 2017-2018. I watched till season 3 and started the fourth but I didn’t finish it still. The theme song or whatever it’s called just kind of killed me inside it’s so goood and it already gave me memories of a simpler life I was watching it. I love the actors. Ugh I just got speechless for a moment. Love this video!
This show is nostalgic for things I both like and dislike! The good being my memories from school and the bad being the dreadful costumes and historical inaccuracies 😂😂

Okay this is so well done but as someone with poor hearing, I really wish you had adjusted the volume of the Reign clips you added to be louder--I kept finding that depending on the clip / speaker I had to continually adjust the volume. Again, thanks so much for making this content!
Holy crap I absolutely NEVER realized Narcisse is the elf from LotR !!!! I’m a HUGE lord of the rings fan and reign is another one of my favorite guilty pleasures which I also have a toxic relationship with lol
I think the SA was handled just as well as on Downton Abbey! It's about reinforcing strength and resilience! Twilight just dances around the topic of SA, which is just as bad as Game of Thrones!

I hadn't really considered it at the time. I don't remember Bash being this awful, but I don't remember this show that well. Megan Follows as Catherine de Medici was fire 🔥 I couldn't stand The Serpent Queen and I think I stopped watching after 2 or 3 episodes. Lord Castelroy honeslty should have been protected better. He was such a delightful ray of hope. Seeing him suffer was awful. The one thing I really hated was the book poisoning plotline. I really think I would have preferred it if Henry had gone mad all on his own. I dunno, I think I just found the idea that sometimes bad things happen and it's no one's fault kinda refreshing. (Of course, considering he went about murdering a ton of people it still wouldn't have been great mental illness rep. Even so, I genuinley think an absolute monarch with a severe illness like this would have been a recipe for disaster anyway and is not indicative of the majority of people with mental illnesses.)
You can’t blame Bassie for his season two behavior. It is widely known in the fandom as the season where everything is broken. That said I knew you would warm up to Reign ❤
You could’ve mentioned queen Jeanne of Navarre was nowhere seem to be or heard when she was a major player at that time and she was the archrival Catherine Demedici that could’ve caused some drama and she was the one really running Navarre at the time 😑
You could’ve also mentioned Georgia the country not the state is on the other side of Europe so will how on planet earth would he even get there at that time. 😳
Excellent video, even tho it made me kinda glad that I stopped watching after the finale of s1. But at the same time, realizing that this show had so much potential, only for it to go to waste because of lazy writing and low production value is very sad. The actors (at least most of the main cast) were fantastic and I agree with you, I got chills at the scene you showed where Francis is mourning. But I can only handle so much from a show I don't really enjoy even when the actors are talented and attractive. I haven't watched a second from the Serpent Queen tv show, I didn't know it was considered very bad. To be fair tho, I haven't heard anyone talking about it at all.
