Dear sir good day. In your video, seen you set the compound rest in degree. Why you did? How YOU set the degree in compound rest plz explain. For inch how many degree we set if compound rest have only 50 degrees in left and right.
Hi Mitu! when you are going to cut 60° thread, you may set the compound rest half the included angle of the thread or 29 to 30 degrees to right for a right hand thread, and to the left for a left hand thread. But the reading in the compound rest of the lathe is 59 or 60 graduations. But since your lathe machine has only 50 graduations on its compound rest, you may need to use some aided device such as steel protractor to set the compound rest to the required angle. Hi Mr. Mehdi, firstly, thank you so much for watching and subscribing to my youtube channel and asking such question. The forward and reverse method in thread cutting could easily wear out both the split nut and lead screw since they are engaged all the time during threading operation.
@@profjohnny8624 yes, you're right, it's engaged at least twice the other method. I doubted because when the carriage is return omg to right side of worpiece , since the cutter is not cutting and there is almost no load on the split nit and screw.
