I grew up with one of those coaster sets at my childhood home. You’re right about them being from the 70’s. Ours was like the unfinished version you showed at the end. I used to stack the coasters up in little piles and use them for seating for my Barbies.
Haha I love that! The coasters themselves are super solid, it's a shame for them to be so neglected which is why I decided they need to be "updated" for the modern world. My world at any rate, lol.
Magpies assemble! It's feeding time at Becky's The "newest" coaster box looks so great! What a coincidence to have those wooden pieces fit so perfectly. 😄All the glitter is of course bonus points to no end 😂and the cat in the back are the additional bonus points to no end for me 🐈I still love the first one though, with the planets. Have to admit it's my favorite too 😄 One day I will find one of those vintage coaster boxes, so I can make it sparkle too 😂 Great job on the transformation, Becky ❤ PS Glitteroo 🤣🦘I can't... 🤣
@@amypanddirtytoo1926 😂Becky loves glitter, we (well, I assume we 😂) love glitter.. so whenever Becky's treating us with glitter in her videos, she's feeding the magpies 🤣
@@BeckyTregear Well, that box has 8 drawers, right? Could you, since there are eight coasters, create Santa Claus's original eight reindeer as mentioned in "A Visit from St. Nicholas" also known as: "The Night Before Christmas"? You know: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen. For each one, you could add unique touches to reflect their personalities. For example, Dasher could have a sleek design to show speed, Dancer might have elegant patterns like musical notes, Prancer could have something graceful, like a ribbon, and Vixen could feature something bold, like a star. Comet might have a shooting star or a celestial design, Cupid could have tiny hearts, Donner could have a thunderbolt to reflect his name ('Donner' means 'thunder' in German), and Blitzen could have lightning to match his name ('Blitzen' means 'lightning' in German). That's the best I could think of! I hope that inspires you. ❤
Thank you! There must be loads of these old coaster sets out there; they had to have been mass-produced. Either that or they all have congregated around where I live, lol!
So creative and beautiful! I agree with you, the cat is my favorite! Yes, Christmas the next box! I will be looking forward to what you come up with. Thank you for another great video, Becky!
Thanks, the cat is pretty much the best one, lol! 🐈 I still had fun, even though there are flaws. Hopefully I can get the Christmas one done this year, lol.
Thank you! I wasn't sure I'd get it out in time for Halloween, but I made a bit of time to finish it, otherwise it'd be unfinished for another year, lol. 😂
Loved this! Your cut out finds were perfect. Next time you use resin hit it with a heat gun and the bubbles come right out. You’re so clever. Can’t wait to see what you come up with for the next box. Nice job.
Thank you! Normally I pay closer attention to the bubbles, but I put the coasters to one side and completely forgot about them until the following day - too late then, lol! 😂
My fave time of year is Autumn and I love All Hallows Eve too!! I seek out video's of Halloween arty stuff I just love it! This make-over was fangtastic lol, what a great project! loved all the glitter and spooky shapes, you should defo do a xmas box next even though I'm not a fan of Christmas I do love a good upcycle and kudos to you for that pain staking peeling!! :D
Thank you! I'll see if the Christmas one happens; that would require me being organised, and this year hasn't been great for that, lol! Halloween here is in spring, so it's like Christmas in that we don't quite have the Northern Hemisphere experience.
I think it came out great! I love the planets as well. So cool! I recently bought a small wooden box to makeover, but I immediately lost it in the black hole that is my art room. Ah well, it'll turn up. 😅
I can only imagine how much you must have “suffered“ throughout this particular project. But I have to apologize for finding this video deliciously entertaining! I was cheering for you, with popcorn on my lap, from my couch, watching you navigating the high seas of the restoration process 🎉. Oh, I’m so glad it wasn’t me! 😅 Sending you big hugs, girl, and kudos for sticking with it! Pun intended. ❤
I love tacky things! 🤣 They're just meant to be a bit of run really, resurrecting unwanted items into one of a kind pieces....with extra tack included, heheh.
Yes always enjoy seeing your ideas so I'd like to see what you come up with for a Xmas coaster box. Just wondering.. can you actually use them as coasters.. will resin withstand hot mugs 🤔 or just for their good looks 😍?
Miss Becky, keep a small spray bottle of rubbing alcohol next to your resin. when you see bubbles just spritz it and the bubbles will pop. when you see them again, spritz it again. Or you can use a cooking flame and lightly go over the resin pour. Either way, you will get rid of the bubbles. just don'[t leave the flame over one spot for any length of time or it will catch on fire. just a fast pass and you'll be fine. God bless

Christmas it is! This year or next year remains to be seen, lol.
Maybe spray some fixation b4 pouring the epoxy? And a heat gun for the bubbles? IDK.... it was a just for fun project, it still turned out super cool
I didn't even think of fixative, lol! 😂

Hi Becky = it's a nice fun project but when will you ever use it??? It's a bit tacky no? Give it? To a kindergarten? Well thx for all the ideas.

Good question! I haven't tried putting hot cups of tea on them, but maybe they're more decorative pieces or for cold glasses....lol!
Miss Becky, keep a small spray
bottle of rubbing alcohol next
to your resin. when you see
bubbles just spritz it and the
bubbles will pop. when you see

you can use a cooking flame

@@artladybluntzer4112 oooh I might try the rubbing alcohol as I have lots of that. Fire is too scary, haha! 🤣
Hi Becky, do you ever use a flame to pop those pesky bubbles? It def gets rid of them quickly.
I don't much like using fire....I'm too clumsy!
Do the Christmas thing
I hope to! 🎄
Why do you keep saying that cork is full of bacteria?
Cork is a porous surface and presumably a bacterial paradise; who would know what kind of ecosystem is living in there! 😂
