I have followed this channel for maybe a year now and I just want to say you are doing amazing with that Bunker 😊
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for the support 😀
@@Tornado_Dave of course I bet when it's finished is will look so cool
I started watching from Colin when he came up through the grass I've gone through and watched from the start keep up the good work
Thanks and I’m glad you are liking the content, plenty more to come 😀
Hewes, Dave, and Collin are making underground structures Great Again!!!
I could do with some of hewes’s bricks he is digging out, I might I have to message him 😂
I love that it sounds like you will make tunnel boring machine 2.0
love it and you even hinted a round tunnel for the future; after the extension to the bungalow that is!
My dream is a round tunnel boring machine and round part sections that bolt together after the machine so it has to keep going 😀
@@Tornado_Dave the round boring machine is easy. The extraction of soil is the first problem. The wearing-out head is the second. Shuttering is easy though, just get a long flat steel sheet half-coiled, shove it in, it uncoils, boom done. Tack a nail or two, can't coil to collapse ever.
Man you’re living my child hood dreams man
This is epic. Love this project! So well done Dave. Oh and the plug to plug was hilarious 😂
I thought it would go down well, I couldn’t believe it works 😂
I’d love to see this… this is right up my street 👍🏼
Lol my daughter aurora was telling me about this I never believed her and I come across your videos . Brilliant work keep it up mate . I bet it going to look amazing once done
Dave, the intro is always great! Reminder of where the bunker is, the well and the goal! Keep it up!
Man, your efforts are really paying off!
Coming along nicely!
Yes and this was a week ago, done loads this week 😀
Great videos! I went back and watched one year of your channel. Good stuff. Definitely entertaining.
Awesome, thank you!
Nice bit of Concrete work Dave, it's looking great. Good luck with the tunnel corrections. I worked with a mate many years ago out in Kent building a wet well for farm field tile to drain into and then the water could be collected and then it could be sump pumped to a higher elevation. That build is well strong. Thanks Dave....
You should see if that Barry bank/ups has a battery setting to stop charging at 80% and start charging at say 40 to60 ish%. If you keep it at a 100% the battery will be toast within a year.
This may still be in warranty, but you'll only find out it's toast when you need it. In that moment the warranty won't power your devices.
There will likely be a menu called power management. Or a setting that says ups, this will put least stain on the batteries in in it.
I've been a senior electrician's apprentice for 50 years, man and boy. You need to change the yellow wire in the plug to a green one. Otherwise your house will burn down.
Just twist it around so it look’s green 😂
Looking good Dave
Absolutely loving this series. I can't wait for the next video. Thanks for bringing us along with you.
Hold up.... Did I just see you connect a suicide cable to a live electric source before connecting it to the deadline of the bunker?
Yes I think you did 😂
@Tornado_Dave I'm so glad you're safe lol, keep on digging!
i love this project can't wait to see the finished product
Me and you both 😂, made a lot of progress this week so I’m sure the next video will be a good one 😀
Keep up the content, really interesting to see how one man’s mission to build what he has in his head, is class. Rock on 🤘
Brilliant work Dave, love what you are doing. On your permanent standby power solution (once you sort the suicide wiring) - be careful with mixing a floating earth (from your battery pack) with multiple outlets. Victron has a good info sheet on that.
I probably need to look at that thanks 😀
You are bloody amazing Dave, I have been concreting for 15 years. So my opinion is backed up by a lot of industry experience. Nice work for a complete amateur. 🍻
That jumper cable to the battery bank (often called a "stinger") wouldn't be so bad if you plugged it into the dead mains first and THEN into the battery so you aren't waving the dangerous hot end around 😲 Be careful! Loving the idea of a nice private living room lol
Great video, thanks for taking us on the journey. The project itself is massive to, recorde it all on top while doing it is very hard, it's much appreciated. 👍
Thanks for the nice comment 😀
Foray each of this Chanel and I love it. Great work your doing and I'm looking forward to updates.
Im a new sub and wish I'd found your channel sooner. Well done, love what you are doing. From Oregon USA.
Hello Dave I’ve just binged watched from the start of episode 1. Loved watching and can’t wait to see the finished work. Top man Dave
Awesome, thank you! 😀
Glad you've given yourself a little more time to do the shuttering before concrete arrives this time! Cheers for the video :D
Although it would of been dry if we had done it the day before 😂
@@Tornado_Dave Sometimes you just can't win :D
Amazing brother
Awesome. I'd be recessing the rails into the floor. I don't have a massive concrete bunker!
awesome progress
Glad you think so!
Wood, Concrete and dirt. Lovely.
Always good to relax and watch another fantastic video and see your dream come true
Glad you enjoyed it 😀
Another great episode, well done Dave, your a hard worker and the subscribers will come, this channel will be massive in a few months time. Well done!
It’s coming along well Dave always looking to seeing more I like watching this kind of content 👏👏👏👏👏👍🍺
EPIC as always Dave THANKS so much for sharing with us all. Still look forward every week to the next video!! Is it next week yet? Be safe, have fun and most of all KEEP TUNNELLING
Hell yeah, looking good Dave!!
Bloody brilliant Dave
Always interesting to see when something is built, and even more so when its something mad like this 👍👍😮
Glad your liking it, all these comments make it worth filming so thankyou 😀
Another great video Dave, thanks for filming and sharing.
Thanks for the nice comment 😀
Good morning, Dave, great to see a new video. I hate to bang on about my claustrophobia, but I might be getting better, just from watching the channel. The solar is five stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, with it running the sump and being for back up. I am in the process of adding a similar power unit to my place. Anyway, enough about my rubbish, thanks for another brilliant episode. And I have shared. Cheers
Thanks for sharing and glad you liked it 😀
that’s called a suicide cord!
Just don’t touch the prongs 😂
@@Tornado_Dave But it tastes spicy like when you lick a PP3 battery, Don't try to tell me you never did that, we all did and you know it.
or a jesus cord
The good thing about suicide is it’s a choice so just don’t touch it if you value life
I started watching your tunnel/bunker vedios arfter you helped Colin Furze with his secret garage project and I glad I did i have enjoyed watching every single tunnel vedio.
Glad you like them and thanks for the comment 😀
Great episode Dave. Seeing your trailer loaded up with cars - what do you do when you’re not tunnelling? An intro ‘about me’ would be great!
i just named the frog Eli and i am starting a campaign to rescue Eli
Love your vids Dave. Keep going.
Awesome progress Dave !
can't wait davey boy
Brilliant there's always parts of these videos I can relate with. I used to have a set of 3 point linkage pallet forks. One day I moved 50 pallets of bricks, front wheels off the ground 😂
I thought I was going to drop all those supports, such a big job getting all that shuttering back out, the pallets with bricks on are 1.5 tonnes so am struggling to get the. In the hole 😀
Jim here in California USA. Keep up the great work. Been watching all of your videos.
Thanks for watching! And glad you like them 😀
Great video Dave , awesome work too 👏 you have seemed to have thought of everything, its a delight to watch 😊😊
Glad you enjoyed it, got some cool stuff coming in the next video already 😀
The main bunker your building should be like the big entrance building of all the tunnels and build a tunnel coming from every wall and they all meet back at the big entrance.
This is how my mind works 😀
@@Tornado_Daveno, we need an underground roundabout where they all meet, maybe even make a small drivable car to drive in them
Brilliant
8:57 Always plug the “suicide cable” into the power source last just in case you come in contact with the prongs.
I enjoy watching you do what I would be doing if I could.
Glad you like it 😀
More great progress, Dave. Thanks for the upload. Watching you lift and swing those stillages around so close to the house made me sweaty. I was starting to think the next video series was going to be a home restoration project. 😂
Been a lot closer to the house today with my big lift 😂 we are no longer working in the rain anyway 😀
Great job Tornado Dave 😎
Thank you 😂
240v live exposed plug pin is asking for trouble. Please just get a proprietary manual rotary switch that allows safe mains/ups switching. You didn’t need to make that lethal cable, because you know it will work anyway with the correct switch.
Another banging episode dave 👍🏻
Thanks for the nice comment 😀
Nice progress Dave
Brilliant video Dave, the fact no one has a clue you going to do next is exciting in it 'self..
I’ve got so much planned, the craziness will continue 😂
@@Tornado_Dave Of that i have no doubt lol.
Top banana that 3cx was a helping hand today 😊
That digger is probably my favourite possession 😀
you need 2 more wells, then you could walk out your back door and say well well well
MM77 Approved 👍🏼 👍🏼
Paint seal the outside of the concrete, right? Then wrap the outside. Plus you have to have Two meters of rock or concrete is enough on top so gama radiation does not get through.
I once did that with a power supply from the house to a shed. Had a shock, literally, as the pins were obviously live. I should have used a female variant,
Crazy, difficult, if not even impossible project, But what if.... An underground pool. Or, "better", an underground oasis, right at the water level at the bottom of the well, so it's got an entire ecosystem.
Move your battery into the bunker. Charging Lithium batteries in sub zero temperatures which we'll inevitably get here in the UK is very bad for their lifespan, it might even refuse to charge if it's designed properly.
Also please eventually change that double ended plug, they're called suicide plugs for a reason - I'm not gonna bash you for a quick temporary solution but I would absolutely make sure that's dealt with as a priority. Some manufacturers of those battery banks also offer a changeover panel thing that integrates with your home wiring to safely facilitate the connection of the battery system, so it might be worth seeing if yours has this, or keeping that as just power for tools when you're too far from the house and get a system like the one by Anker or EcoFlow.
Extension lead has to be completely unraveled otherwise you will get an overheated cable & power cut 😂😂😂 school boy stuff
Great stuff!
I wonder if Tornado Dave has run some of his diggings through a sluice box, just to see.
The journey to 100k subs is rapidly approaching! Faster than your tunnel mine cart setup :P
Did you mean you are going to dig out a bigger round tunnel over the existing one?? I wonder how that'll work! It'd probably make things a bit more roomy down there, which could be nice
Love this content...
Thank you 😀
You should have painted the concrete with tar paint to stop the damp
some footage of thrashing the 90 round an arena woulda been good Dave, never mind, bunker is comming on nicely
I should of filmed it, would of been good to put on when I took Kalab cooper round the track
That plug is called a widow maker
That feed in lead is going to kill someone. If not someone picks it up then a utility worker if the network is isolated and it feeds back through your mains, please look up changeover switches and feed in sockets. Former utility worker and electrician. Had to deal with this sort of stuff when we have natural disasters here and the power goes off and someone hooks up dodgy leads.
Smashing
Rescue the frogs
I’m going to do it now 😂
Thought i recognised the accent, ey up duck 🥳
should cracked open a cheeky bottle vimto at the grand reopening of tunnel dave 😜👍
The video was 55 minutes long before the edit, I had loads of things going off but I set my limit on 20 mins on this one so had to keep it real 😂
Jeez imagine all the people that found out the hard way "watch your finger" with them braces hah
Dave why didn't you water proof the outside of the Concrete ? Something is better than nothing .
Looking Awesome !!👍
It won’t need it with the design I have, more to be shown in the next part 😀
@@Tornado_Dave Got it !! Great job so far . looking good.
I'm surprised you didn't use a waterproofing on the exterior
@@ronaldmallette it would be hard to make it work, the internal drain system will work better and there is another wall yet to build on the inside don’t forget 😀
New sub from Colin 👀 good 👍🇬🇧
Welcome aboard 😀
A request from the yanks, if you could slow down just a bit especially when you are spelling out the specifications, like the waterproofing, it would be appreciated!
I will try 😂
loving your work! feel free to come and build a bunker in my garden! I'm local by the looks of it hahaha
Shall I bring the 3cx round 😂
I think you should do it tram style
I love toads 🐸
How on Earth are people getting confused? If they’ve been watching your videos, they’ll know exactly what you’re doing. It’s not rocket science, well, it clearly is for some people. Thick as mince!
I thought i would just spell it out in simple form 😂
@@Tornado_Dave you have to spoon feed some people, I wonder how they survive
I don’t think this would survive a nuke
This maybe a daft question, apologies if so. Could your well get high enough to flood your tunnel and bunker?
Great project, is there a reason why you didn’t build it using concrete block ?
It was about the loads the walls have to take from ground pressure and apparently anything over 2 metres deep exceeds the rating on the blocks
Is that correct? An electric kettle will drain your 2kWh power station in less than 1 hour?
If it is constantly heating the water which only actually takes 2 minutes to actually boil then the kettle turns off. The unit can run 2kw for 2 hours. So if you had a 2kw heater it would only be 2 hours yes
Great stuff Dave i Was wondering if u were going too water proof it. Not many UA-cam underground bunkers have it done. Must be costing a Bomb but u doing it right waste of time and money if u don't
Yes all waterproofing on now and will be in the next video 😀
holy fuck, that suicide lead is crazy! don't let the kids near that
after removing the shuttering; You need a portal gun
Just came from the Tommy Robinson interview with Dr. Jordan Peterson, and I can say I had no idea things are getting that Orwellian over the pond. I can see why you are so focused on getting this bunker completed.
Why no water proofing/ tar on the outside of the concrete walls, and the foting?
The waterproofing is in the next episode, it will make more sense soon 😀
