      Thanks man, you just saved me! I was bothering for 2 days to find an affordable monitor for design and digital painting, and as you can guess most recommended models are Dell ultrasharp priced from 400 to 700 euros (and that's the price for base models). But the model you recommended, it has two things I need most, an appropriate RGB color range and 1440p resolution, and it cost only 250 euros :)

      Thank you. Unfortunately, it is not possible to post screenshots here. The advance mode simply gives you the option to change the colour calibrating for relevant use. Mine is always on sRGB Full Display mode as I do photography, but there's another option. It all depends on what you are using the monitor for.

      @@GeorgiPetrov just an other question, i search a lot in internet but from reviews in Amazon I cannot understand, I have already a benq monitor with brightness Intelligent technology, has this monitor the ability to change the brightness and/or contrast like auto mode from sensors do you notice that?

    • @GeorgiPetrov
      @GeorgiPetrov  3 роки тому

      @@alexakos1992 Hi. I didn't notice changing the brightness or contrast. The sensor on the monitor is for ECO mode. So, if you go away from the monitor the power shutdown and soon you comeback the monitor starts alone. However, if you install the Display Pilot by Benq you can set up different colour profiles for different applications. This way you can have bright and sharp for Photoshop and when open browser it can change to low blue lights. Hope this makes sense.

    Hey Georgi great review and your review is much better than regular tech reviewers... Please keep making videos and also the detailed one with time stamps which can be useful if one don't want to watch the full video. I have one question, I am not a designer / photographer and I just want to connect it to my laptop for doing office work (Microsoft office) and Web browsing. Should I for 2k monitor or full HD is sufficient for me. Thanks in advance

    • @GeorgiPetrov
      @GeorgiPetrov  4 роки тому +1

      Hi, Amit. Thank you for your lovely comment and support. My advice is not to go for a 2K monitor if you are not using for design or photography. It is suitable for games and movies, but FHD will be excellent for you. You can find good quality at a lower price. I will suggest looking at LG, BenQ or DELL. Here is one example to give you some idea amzn.to/2YAKWNK
      However, you don't need to spend that much. More significant the screen more will cost, but at least you have an excellent large monitor to use.

    Hi Georgi, amazing review. Really informative.
    I am blown away to see that you’re still interacting with people like me in the comments after 2 months of posting the video. Really impressive. Keep up the good work.
    Now, here’s my question. I am an architect and do architectural visualisation. I am going to start architectural photography course in November. So would you recommend this model for that. I really want to get the Dell P2419HC as it has a usb c port but it’s 1080p and not 2k.
    Kindly advice, both are around the same budget here in India.

    • @GeorgiPetrov
      @GeorgiPetrov  4 роки тому +1

      Vedant Sharma thank you very much. I’ll always reply. Maybe a few days later but I believe is important to reply and care for people who are watching. Now, regarding your question. In all honesty DELL are impressive monitors. Ok, the Benq offer more pixels but at the end this is not a big deal. It will not affect your work. I edit my images on 1080 for years. Most important is the calibration and the sRGB colours. Benq comes factory calibrated. If the dell comes with calibration you’ll be fine.
      Otherwise, calibration devise cost extra money. Hope this will help you to decide.

    Great, video really. I like that you covered almost everything.
    I had been going back and forth on this monitor because it was released around 2014-2015 and I was not sure how it will compare against newer monitors but I have ordered this monitor on amazon now.
    While I am waiting for it to get delivered, let me ask you this:
    1. Do you ever watch movies on it? Any settings that you would recommend for it?
    2. HDMI vs Display Port? Does that make a difference in the picture quality? Given that it's a 2k monitor and not 4k.

    • @GeorgiPetrov
      @GeorgiPetrov  4 роки тому +5

      Hi, Arbaaz. Thanks for the kind words. I wish I cover more but was afraid the video is getting too long.
      I don't watch movies, but I watch premium tutorials filmed in full HD, and I watch a few times movies on Amazon Movies. All I can say is, I use standard mode or Movie mode to watch. I didn't make any special adjustments.
      Regarding the ports, I suggest using Display Port. The display port is better than anything else because it delivers higher quality. I use HDMI, but I have ordered a display port cable coming tomorrow. My laptop has 2 x display ports, so when I get the second monitor, I can have them connected and separate.
      However, you can have HDMI for movies and use display port for design, photography or games. I hope this helps.
      Thank you. Georgi.

    Can you please check if this monitor can be overclocked to about 75 Hz? Displayspecifications website suggests it can reach 76 Hz.. if so, this immediately becomes attractive for casual gaming for me (apart from general use). maybe you can do another vid about its gaming performance.. i have a dell 2209wa right now, but its showing its age with a lot of distributed dead pixels.

      Hi. I am not sure if you can overclock the monitor. In reality, it should be ok, but it all depends on your graphic card and system. As I am using my monitor with a laptop and my graphic card is good, but not a high speck. Also, I don play any games on my laptop so, I am clueless about gaming. I wish I can help you with this. Thank you for the upload. I have the following burning questions:
    1. Is it matte or semi-glossy (have seen both claims i reviews)?When you work on black background do you easily see blurred outlines of your head and light-colored things around you or they are almost or completelly invisible? I work in a low light conditions - behind curtains with little light trough during the day and under soft, diffused night lamp light at night. I use extremelly low brightness setting since my eyes became verry sensitive to high brightness and contrast after years of PS image edits on cheap, glossy, PWM TN screen.I am looking for a monitor to do more text reading and less image editing.
    2. Online test show (as with many other Benq models) large discrepancies in brightness range. The lowest minimum ws 23 cd/m2 the highest maximum 330cd/m2. Whats you experience with min brightness capability?Do you use it in"dark room mode"with brightness at 0% and do you feel it still bright?
    3. Have you considered HP E24q ?It has 250cd/m2 max brightness which means in practice will show better detail/gradients in lower brightness settings than Benq which could span between 23cd/m2 till 330cd/m2 with less intermediate steps for ajusting (at least theoretically).It also has a built in , always on blue-light filter (still not sure if actual phisical filter is added).
    4. Have you worked on 16:10 1980x1200 and how do you compare this so-called golden ratio to 16:9 qHD if you had to use the monitor solely for office work (Google and Facebook Ads for e.g.), 50/50 split screen work. Is the extra depth of 16:10 more important than the higher dpi but more shallow 16:9 qHD?
    5. Do you have experience with matte displays and why did you switch to a semi-glossy -is this Benq is such?

    • @GeorgiPetrov
      @GeorgiPetrov  3 роки тому

      Hi. Thanks for your questions.
      1. The monitor screen is Anti-Glare. I don't think is 100% matte. However, for my needs and my work is excellent. Regarding the low lights, my room is dark with only small top windows, so I work in low lights, and the monitor is on 50% brightness. I never had issues with black backgrounds and blurry lines. If you look for a monitor to do more reading, this model is good in low lights.
      2. I never use it in 0% brightness as I edit videos and pictures, so I can't tell you much here.
      3. Never considered HP. For me, it is Benq, View Sonic or DELL sharp when it comes to more affordable solutions. I use this monitor because it is calibrated for graphics but considering getting one soon for photography. Otherwise, for reading and all of my website works, I use my laptop.
      4. Never worked on 16:10, so I can't compare it.
      5. I love matte displays and looking forward to getting soon one for photography, but for now, I don't have any complaints about this Benq because the display is very close to matte.
      Hope this helps.

      @@GeorgiPetrov Thank you for taking the time to answer so many questions Georgi. Very informative answers. I expected you do not use zero % brightness since you edit images and these require 80-150cd/m2. Plus your eyes are healthy.
      If I could bother you with just one more question I would like to know if the monitor is convinient for 50/50 split screen work - like if you want to compare 2 web pages side by side. Do you feel the need of extra depth (more screen phisycal space not more pixels)?

    • @GeorgiPetrov
      @GeorgiPetrov  3 роки тому

      @@Classicdslr, you are welcome. Maybe a 27 inch or 32-inch monitor will give you much more space for splitting in two, but if your budget is low, this model could work just fine. It all depends on personal preference and how much space you need. I, personally planning to buy a second monitor instead of buying 32 inches. It is a cheaper solution and gives me the option to split my work between two monitors.

    Hello Georgi thanks for the great review.
    I have a question. I want to use my MacBook Pro which has usb c ports with the monitor.
    I have a few questions :
    Do you have an idea on whether the Mac OS works fine with a 2k qhd monitor display ?
    I have heard people complain about their mac systems not being able to be read really well with 2k or qhd monitor.
    Have you by chance tested it ?

    • @GeorgiPetrov
      @GeorgiPetrov  3 роки тому

      Hi, Avinash. I haven't tested it with MacBook Pro yet. I have my old 2009 model. The model doesn't have USB C port, but it has a display port. So I have tried watching UA-cam videos in 1080HD and 4K. On 4K the video is cutting and skies but on 1080HD players perfect. My MacBook Pro is 2009, so it's not that good as graphics and network, so if you have a newer model, I think it will be just fine. The monitor is Mac compatible for sure. Friend of mine ordered the monitor to use with his MacBook Pro 2015 model, and so far he loves it. He uses it for his photography retouching and UA-cam videos, so I guess it is working fine. However, I think he is using the display port as well. Hopefully, this helps. I'll be repurchasing Mac this year, but for now, this is all I say about using it with Mac.
      If you plan to use the monitor for graphics and photography, I am sure it will work as should be. If you use it for games, I can't tell you about the performance because I am not a gamer.

      Hi. Sorry for my late reply. If you are professional and work with clients which required a high end accuracy in shadows, shades (tone) and colour you should get 10 bit for sure. The 8 bit has 256 steps of shades (tone) and the 10 bit have 1024 steps. So, as you can see the 10 bit is more accurate and in the long run I will suggest if you can, buy the 10 bit. It maybe more expensive but is a good investment. All depends on the photography you do and who you work with. I am happy with my 8 bit at the moment. However if I get more bigger clients and more complicate projects I will invest in 10bit. Hope this helps.

      I think they have scrapped the old version. I don't have any links, but I stop using the software myself. Running on two monitors now and only use the menu on the screen.

    • @GeorgiPetrov

      Both are great for photo and video editing in entry-level. The Benq offers a higher resolution in 2K but whichever you go for it will serve you well.

    Hi Georgi Awesome stuff there
    I have few questions does this come with mini display port(thunderbolt port) to display port because i have a mac book pro (mid 2012) with ubuntu 18.04 installed on it . So does this monitor support ubuntu also normal vga to thunderbolt port/mini dp offer max 1920*1200 resolution not the quad HD resolution so i'm finding it difficult to get it.

    • @GeorgiPetrov
      @GeorgiPetrov  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks, Maddela. I use the monitor with my MacBook Pro mid-2009 and is excellent. I use it with mini display to HDMI adaptor i got a long time ago from apple. It works fine, but you need to have it as an external monitor and not mirror monitor. Otherwise, the resolution will be wrong because the old macs don't support 2K resolution. I am not sure about Ubuntu, and I am sure VGA will be fine, but I'll suggest using the mini port to HDMI or Display PortHope this help. I use my apple adaptor but also use for my windows laptop this cable amzn.to/2XYY3sM
      I hope this helps.

    • @GeorgiPetrov

    what do you think about the sizes of text, images, websites, windows ui in this monitor? the 2k res makes all things smaller.

    • @GeorgiPetrov
      @GeorgiPetrov  4 роки тому

      itzaspace I didn't find much difference from my old 1920x1080 24 inches. It could be me only because I like small text, but overall I don't have any issues with any of the applications or UI Interface.

    Hello Georgi,
    Thank you for the review.
    I'm thinking to buying this monitor but I'm not sure if my computer can handle the 2k resolution. I have 2gb dedicated graphic card, and an old i3 processor, 8gb ram. I don't mind gaming, just want to be sure that I'm able to use Lightroom and Photoshop. Thank you

    • @GeorgiPetrov
      @GeorgiPetrov  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, Maxim. You should be fine for stills and graphics. My old machine was with less dedicate memory on the graphic card and I was fine. For stills and graphics it will be perfect. I don't do games, so I can't say much in this field. However, when comes to photo, graphics or videos I never had issues. I hope this helps.

      The only difference is the size and the price. Apart from that I don't think there is any significant difference.
