My main motivation for studying comes from this Lemony Snicket quote: "They say in every library there is a single book that can answer the question that burns like a fire in the mind." - Therefore I feel like the more I study, the closer I am to finding that answer. Great video Ruby
Another lemony quote: “I like to think that a library is like an island in a vast sea of ignorance. Particularly if the library is tall and the surrounding area has been flooded.”
My main motivation for studying is: "If an egg is broken by an outside force, life ends. If broken by an inside force, life begins. Great things always begin from inside and are not forced." Lóve this videó so much!
So, I have do defend the muji pens, for there is one use-case where they are actually the best (but still not worth the hype): At my university you are allowed to take one page of handwritten notes into your exams and there is nothing that can beat the .38 muji pen there. They don't smudge and I can write up to three lines in one grid without losing the ability to read them afterwards. I have been using the .4 Pilot G-TEC-C4 before and mujis are simply a bit better.
I don’t know if they still do them, but Muji used to offer a .25 mm gel pen that is even better for those handwritten Formular sheets as they’re noticeably thinner than the .38 mm ones.
Have you tried the 0.38 pilot G2? It doesn't skip at all like the G-TECs and it's also very fine. Super basic, I know, but it's also a great option that's commonly available.
@@funcisco Maybe it's just an issue I had; I also often switched between writing in script for notes and in print for equations so that might have contributed to it not working well for me.
My motivation for studying: "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do." -Pelé
For mildliners: I don't think they are overhyped at all too. The colours are beautiful and i had them for almost 3 years (the same ones) and only after 3 years they stopped working, however, I should mention that i was using them daily for taking notes and doodles in my bullet journal. Honestly, if I had to select only one markers to have for the rest of my life, mildliners would be my first choice!
@@nishachhetri omg samee and everytime I buy the same thing happens!!! I feel that it is too expensive and not good because the tip is super hard and not even good for highlighting:(( it keeps on bleeding when on paper for some reason😭😭😭😭
I also really like them but because they are only available on Amazon and are shipped from I think it was Japan, it did hurt a lot to pay so much for shipping and also on top of that an additional 15€ for oversea shipping. Shipping nearly did cost as much as the mildliners themselves. So although I really do like them a lot and I use them everyday (for me they are nearly everything I could want in a highlighter) I probably wouldn't buy them again. But if I could purchase them here in a shop I would definitely buy them again. I have been using mine now for 3 months and I do hope that they will last.
I'm 32 and I *finally* just started university - psychology! So my motivation to study is that I want to be the change I'd like to see in the world and give back all the good psychologists gave me during all these years :) (I was convinced I did not need the Remarkable but now I'm not so sure, it looks so pretty and useful! I like that it has no notifications nor other distracting features as well, it's starting to look way too tempting)
The thing about the notifications is that you can turn off notifications while studying if you don’t want them, for example all apple products on mostly recent updates have Do Not Disturb mode the remarkable does one less thing than what the iPad can do so would justify that price point even less
I LOOOOOOVE my Remarkable. I’ve had mine for almost 4 years and I couldn’t live without it. I like that I can’t do anything but write on it. I appreciate that it’s “off the grid” during a time when we’re constantly surrounded by tech. I feel like I can be more creative. Plus, I can easily store all my school notes.
I am becoming more and more obsessed with mine! It just doesn't feel like technology at all and you're right about it letting you be more creative... I've been using it for creative writing and just love it. Do you use the feature which lets you convert your handwriting to typed words? I haven't but was wondering if that's something you ever found useful? x
@@RubyGranger8 Yes, I do use it! The main reason I got the Remarkable is because I like to write fiction by hand but hate having to retype it all. It’s not always a perfect match but you write much neater than I do, so I bet it would work better for you. I also write in cursive most of the time and it even does about 95% correct conversion with my cursive.
Just incase someone was looking for a cheaper alternative to the Remarkable - I was looking into buying a Remarkable (because it honestly seems incredible), but the price was just so far out of my budget it was almost laughable. I ended up getting something called a Boox. They have few different models, some of which cost the same as a Remarkable but some that cost hundreds of dollars less. I got their cheapest one, which is obviously less advanced than the more recent/expensive models, but all of the key selling features remain the same (it feels like paper and basically functions as an e-book - e-notebook combo). I've been using it for over a year now for both reading and writing and I really do love it. My only critic is how easily worn out the pen nibs are. I am quite a heavy writer, but the pad comes with multiple spare nibs, which suggests to me that they are expected to be worn down.
Fundamentally, if writing on paper is your thing, why not simply write on paper? I love to sketch on real paper, loose and notebooks, for there's something about it that feels in touch with artists and students of yore. That being said, it's useful to have your appraisals of these products, Ruby. Hopefully there'll be students and professionals who'll find this helpful!
It depends I guess. For some people it’s storage. I personally prefer writing on actual paper, and most of my notes are on actual paper notebooks, but some classes utilize power points and I find it easier to download them unto my iPad, annotate them there, then rewrite them on paper. I also use the iPad instead of a notebook on classes that are not very extensive in note taking and may require me to move info around, but any major studying has me rewrite them on actual paper as nothing really beats the feel of real paper for me. It’s also satisfying to flip through all my notes at the end of the semester.
i think that for some people it's just the fact that you can always have your info on you but also the environmental side of preserving trees and production waste. on the other side, you can always recycle paper so i personally also dont really see the hype esp if you dont have the money for the tablets
For me it's like, I go through so many notebooks that it almost feels illegal??? Like, I feel bad for essentially wasting so much paper, that this does seem like a great alternative
I totally agree with you. All of those things are nice to have but when it comes down to it the only thing you need is a laptop. I personally prefer the MacBook (had another computer before) but I believe it is very much dependent on your preferences and your other devices. :)
It's so easy to get caught up thinking that we need all of these things to study (and I'm not going to pretend I'm not guilty of that because, as you can see, I have a lot of these products) -- but hard work, focus and motivation (plus a laptop) is what you really need x
Exactly. As time went on I even got rid of more and more as a student. I stopped using special paper or notebooks and used plain, the cheapest I could find, notebooks. During my time as a student the biggest game changer was an extra monitor to use with my laptop when writing at home. Buying a good keyboard and mouse can also make a huge difference. Getting those documents up on a bigger screen makes a huge difference and doing research online is more efficient and a monitor doesn't have to be expensive at all.
I'm trying to heal my relationship to studying and my motivation for it in general because I had a bad experience in uni where it was normal for the professors to treat the students poorly, so I'm reading what y'all wrote 💗
My motivation for studying: I am a medical student and I want to be able to save lives of the people whose loved ones put their trust in me. I want to be so good at what I do that I am able to look at a patient, and tell them that they are going to be alright.❤ Love your content, Ruby, keep going!✨
My motivation for studying is purely learning as much as I can about any subject. I find it so invigorating when I can adapt what I have learnt to my daily life and being able to sit in an exam knowing every single question because I was so intrigued by everything I have just consumed from studying. Personally I have dyslexia which can make study really challenging sometimes. However over coming those difficulties and seeing my full potential makes studying all that more satisfying. Ultimately I feel that given the opportunity to study is such a privilege, so I want to ensure that I make the most of every second :)
Edit: My motivation to study comes from me wanting to push myself intellectually and grow as a person. Throughout these past few years, as I have been in University, I feel as though I have drastically changed in terms of the way in which I think about things and thus, have become a more confident version of myself. Through studying, I hope to facilitate this growth in both areas of my life. P.S. I am sorry for not inserting this comment earlier. This is something that I wanted to reflect upon as I was studying so that I could give a genuine answer to your question. Even if I don't win the giveaway, I feel as though this question has allowed me to view things in a different light, and for that I am thankful. I love this video!! I have always been curious as to what products you use, and I appreciate that you have decided to give an honest review of them. I would love to see a similar video regarding study techniques such as the Pomodoro, active recall, and so on. I hope that all is well, and thanks again for another wonderful video!
That's such a good video idea! I can definitely film that in the new year! Because there are definitely study methods (like Pomodoro) which I don't like at all x
@@RubyGranger8 I am glad that you are considering filming it! I think that it could be a useful video to introduce people to basic studying techniques and show them the pros and cons of each one (like you did with this video). Personally, I find the Pomodoro technique useful depending on the task that I am doing. For instance, I find it useful for reading assignments, but I don't like using it when I am writing essays.
My main motivation for studying is myself, learning, and the fact that by studying I can expand my knowledge infinitely. I am still in middle school but I have found such a joy for learning. I know that when I am older, I really want to be a doctor and it brings me so much joy helping others like my siblings love to study and learn. When I study further, I learn so much more than I would have and overall, I feel really proud of myself. I love being a role model for others and helping people around me. Ever since I have watched your channel you have motivated me so much and have been a really big role model. I love your style and you have really helped me build my confidence. I hope you see this and have a happy holidays! Thank you!
My most motivating idea when studying on most days is peace of mind. That 1 hour today reduces stress for me in the future. That I am helping myself by studying regularly, both in the near future and the long run! Loved the video, have a wonderful day y'all
My number one motivation for studying is that knowledge is the gateway to communing with the great minds of generations before. Through gaining knowledge and studying great works I am gaining access into the great conversation that has been going on for thousands of years, and that is exciting and energizing!
I love how you decorated your room, but thank you so much for your honesty about reviewing these products. I've used something similar to the paperlike and your pencil tip does wear out over extended use. This video was very lovely and I appreciate your thoughts on these products! I hope you have a lovely day!
i think my number one motivation for studying has always been the instant gratification i get from setting a task and then doing it successfully as i planned, it really gives you a sense of control and mindfulness that nothing else can get you. Also, it’s soooo refreshing to actually see someone review the paperlike so honestly.
I honestly haven't felt that motivated for studying lately, but whenever i do it's mainly because of the fact that i really like learning and expanding my knowledge. I know it has so many advantages for myself later, which really helps with the motivation.
As a psycologhy student, my main motivation to study is to be able to help people to live their best lives. I love helping people, I always did, since I was a little kid. I am very conscious of my priviledge for being able to study what I love and what I feel passion about. Thanks Ruby for motivate me!
To be honest: My main motivation for studying is the fact that I really wanna finish off university and become a lawyer. I wish, that I could enjoy the process of studying itself more and be less of a procrastinator 😅but I'm working on it and your videos are really helpful with this! Thank you so much Ruby!
My motivation for studying is myself. 2 years ago I could never have imagined that I would be in school, so every time I take a test - no matter the result, I’m always proud of myself
I love that you've released a yearly planner because now I can use it in New Zealand for my school year. My one main motivation for studying is to explore different fields and find answers to things I've always been curious about❤
My main motivation for studying is so that I can build a better future for myself-- not only open doors, but to grow as a person and use this growth to live a happy, focused life. I've found that studying in any form-- whether it be studying for a university test, studying a language or studying a book in more depth, I always learn something new and think about the world in different perspectives and it is such a lovely feeling. You've also helped me appreciate it a lot more and I truly enjoy the person I am when I am studying. Thanks for this giveaway and loved the video!
My motivation for studying: I just love learning and its what makes me feel happiest especially when im stressed out. A good study session just makes me feel calm and at peace.
My motivation for studying is to help change the world and help those in need. I might not be studying anything academic, and I don't know how much pride there is in studying to become a nurse. But I want to be one hell of a nurse, when I finish. I'm taking my education in Denmark, but the fact that my education is in many cases a one way ticket to different countries is also a motivation. That's what studying can do, bring possibilities. No matter what you study, it can truly open doors for us.
Hi ruby ! please make a video on how you use your iPad for studying :D eg: what apps you use to read and annotate PDFs, what apps you use for note taking/mindmaps etc ! thanks ♡
The giveaway question was so personal to me because I never needed a reason to study, I did it because I had exams and it was part of the system. But now I realize the importance of having motivation so I thought long and hard about it a few weeks ago, and my motivation is just knowing stuff. So many people spent a huge chunk of their lives to find the answer to a questions, to do research. So many people have written their advice and life experiences in books and papers. There is infinite amount knowledge we can get get and educate ourselves. And this very knowledge is such a gift, once you make it yours no one can take it away from you! it can be used to improve lives, help others, improve the environment, discover and invent new things and so much more. For me studying has always been a chore which I dread, but while writing this I realize how much I actually enjoy the process. I love learning just for the sake of it, to feed my curious mind and help it to grow. Learning really does bring us joy. I've always disliked the idea of doing something so you can capitalize it later instead of truly enjoying the process. I hope that this fire for learning always grows in all us! edit- I have a tip for all those who want to have digital handwritten notes without an iPad, you can use a graphic tablet which is soo much cheaper and you can connect it to your laptop without having to look down straining your neck. I can't recommend it enough! it is such a good alternative 😄 you can also use it for art
My main study motivation was at first to get good grades to get into the schools I wanted but now as I’m only studying a singer/songwriter program my heart sincerely beats for I do it to learn and grow as an artist and musician. I’ve been subscribed to your channel for almost two years now and it wasn’t until the dawn of this academic year that I truly began to understand your whole study philosophy and how life really changes for the better once you choose to follow love. I didn’t even intend for this comment to be this long and I suppose that in a way shows it. In other words my motivation is ❤️
My main motivation for studying is : "good things come to those who work really hard" . I'm still at school and I want to use this time where I can learn so many things for life. I also like the quote "Do what you can't do and soon you will be able to do it".
My main motivation for studying is honestly studytubers/studygram. I get motivation just by watching time lapses of people studying and it makes me want to study too. I also make time lapses of me studying when I don’t want to go on my phone because it’s satisfying to see a 50 second time lapse of me doing work. I’ve been watching ruby since middle school and I’m now a freshman in University.
My main motivation for studying is using the Pomodoro method, since I can concentrate for just a period of time. However, sometimes I go onto the next pomodoro session without a break because I would be in the “flow”. I am a big fan of your channel, and have seen a whole lot more productivity in my life since watching. I’d also recommend the “Exam Study Expert” podcast to people, as there is a lot of good tips there as well!
My motivation for studying: "It always seems impossible, until it's done" - Nelson Mandela I absolutely love this quote because it reminds me that if I am having trouble doing certain schoolwork, or finishing homework, I know that it has been done, so I will be able to find an answer and work through it
My motivation for studying is my dream to become knowledgeable in many different fields, not only in the one that I'm studying in Uni. For example, I love reading and studying chess in my free time. Thanks for the video, Ruby!
I love my paperlike screen protector, it makes taking notes so much more pleasant. I also haven’t needed to replace my Apple Pencil tip after using if for years
My main motivation for studying is the feeling of 'understating' a subject, when it clicks and makes sense, that feeling is such a high! And then of course when I get to explain it to others in simple terms!
My main motivation for studying learning, understanding and connecting as much knowledge and ideas as i can! I have always been very curious, doing my own research on topics i find interesting. And what i enjoy the most is when i finally understand a subject deeply enough to see the correlations between different topics, how you get from point A to point B, and eventually, have my own ideas and relate them to the content i know! It's always so exciting to make a deduction or a reasoning and see that you are right, that you have connected the info properly!
My study motivation: candles! I’d always see you lighting a candle and one day just decided to do the same, now i literally cannot study without lighting one. I’m quite the night owl and my motivation spikes the highest in evenings, so they look even more lovely with the surrounding darkness. Especially during fall/winter times when it gets dark earlier, I can never resist it. Thank you for the inspiration :)
My motivation for studying comes from my hope to be a better person than I was previously. I don't have a concrete definition of what better is other than it being denoted by the effort I put in and the fulfillment I get out of each day. I feel uncertain about my future at times, so what better use of my time than to focus on what I can do in the moment! And lovely video, I appreciate the honesty you show in your review.
My number one motivation to study is the fact that I want to be able to help people and by following my dream career, I can do that actively every single day. Love your videos!!
Hey Ruby!! My main motivation is honestly you. Whenever I lack in motivation, my number one boost is watching your videos. The way you romanticise school and studying is amazing. Thanks for uploading rubes xx :)
my main motivation for studying is knowing that after I graduate and I get to put my degree to use it will be worth it! I study medicine and it can feel so long at times but pushing myself to learn more and questioning the way everything works has helped me so much. Also, the satisfaction when you get your head around something difficult is unmatched!!!!!
A tip for some people that are planning to get a laptop because your school/university requires it but still wants to write notes by hand and draw you can always buy a laptop that has touch screen and if it doesn’t have a pen included you can buy a stylus or something similar to the Apple Pencil as a alternative
My number one main reason for studying is the result. I feel so proud after a study session because I’ve done something for my present self but also for my future self. You are my favorite UA-camr and also a big motivation for studying. I hope you are doing well and stay safe
My main inspiration to study is that I really want to gain new knowledge and understand the things I once found confusing. I'm really motivated by the progress I see in my knowledge as I study and especially when I can finally understand something I found confusing before! Thank you for your videos Ruby x
my main motivation for studying is to help people. i like the feeling that comes with knowing something, and being able to help someone else understand it as well! i also study so I can do what I want later. i either want to be a psychologist, specifically a mental health therapist if possible, or a librarian. two very different occupations, but I know both would bring me joy. it's a lot of work, so I have to study and do well now! i really liked today's video!
I've been thinking about getting some noise cancelling headphones so this video was very helpful in that regard. My motivation for studying, besides wanting to graduate college, is just that I believe strongly in continued learning. I don't think we should ever stop learning and studying even after we're done with school.
My main motivation for studying is for satisfying my curiosity. I love learning new things while in class and later going home and doing additional research because new questions popped into my mind. I also adore signing up for online courses and masterclasses where I can study subjects that are not offered by my program and pick skills that will help my career or overall life:)
This a great video especially for first year collage students that might be intimidated by all the study related social media! You did an amazing job! Just in case anyone is interested I would like to mention the feature with the screen shots inserted in documents is not actually Apple exclusive. Every operation system has a version of it and also a version of air drop. It's just that Windows works with Android (in my case Samsung). I hope that helps :)
I have a product on my screen similar to the paper like, just a matte screen protection from amazon, was a fiver, 6x cheaper…. But i noticed my pencil tip had worn down to the point where my pencil stopped working, after what i can say was about 1 year of ‘light to medium’ use, so if you’re a heavy sturdier, maybe stock up on tips or get a tip cover etc if you want a matte screen protector.
To be todally honest, my main motivation for studying is learning to fall in love with studying again. I am in my first semester of uni and used to attend a very advanced highschool for my A levels and a very strict elementary school. The whole school system does not fit my way of living and learning at all. But due to that and also some mental health issues it is actually extremely difficult for me to be motivated or even to enjoy studying. But I want to improve my relationship with studying again because I know that studying and education is actually such a privilege, such a great oppertunity and also it can be so much fun. I remember how much I liked learning before I went to school. So this is my main motivation to study and to learn, to love to study and to learn. And it still is a challenge every day. But thanks so much for your videos Ruby! You and other studytubers really help me to fix my motivation!
loved how honest you were in the video!!!! really needed. also just a thing about windows system: it does have a similar thing to what you showed about screenshooting a picture and drag. i dont know the name in english but it has an app that its icon is a scissor and you can just click in it and when it opens click in "new" and you can screenshot the whole screen or just select a piece and then you can ctrl V the picture in anywhere you want!
14:11 idk whether things have changed, since i am making this comment over a year after this video was released, but the screenshot feature is in windows. Once you take a screenshot using [windows + shift + s] the screenshot you get is put in your clipboard. If you go to the notification bar and click on the screenshot notification then you can annotate the screenshot and save a second copy/replace it. But to put it in a document, you just paste it with [ctrl + v] some apps will have issues, like if you use Microsoft word, or other office 365 apps, you may run into issues depending on whether you use the web app, or the desktop version. But for most intensive purposes, we do infact have this feature on windows. ✨the more you know✨
My motivation for studying comes from different sources, sometimes it is just the pure joy from learning something new, sometimes it is the praise and success that is connected to studying (yes, I know very well this isn't a healthy one, but let's be honest, this sometimes is a source of motivation for almost all of us), and from time to time the motivation doesn't come at all. But I am trying my best to stay healthily motivated instead of being overly motivated and then becoming burnt out, which used to happen to me quite often in the past..
I know, this may sound kinda weird but it is really interesting to see which people stand behind the content I'm learning. When I learn, I love reading biographies of the scientist who founded the content I'm learning, the writer of a book I'm reading for school, important people in the history and so on... It is just really interesting to see, how genius, creative and special all those people were. It's just nice, to appreciate it and it makes me also really curious.
My main motivation is to gather as much knowledge as possible, so I can spread it further and share my love for the theatre with other people. I would love them to be more confident going to the theatre or opera, having fun, and experiencing those wonderful feelings that I experience almost every time I go and see a play💕
I'm studying engineering and my main motivation for studying is that I want to see certain changed in academic fields and I want to help promote those. I want engineering to be more focused on helping people instead of profit and I want to design assistive technology for people with disabilities and other things that would help promote people's quality of life rather than being most profitable for businesses. I want disabled people like me to be represented in the design space, so that they get a voice and aren't looked over like they usually are.
As someone who bought the iPad Pro - I am seriously regretting it. There was a design flaw in the 10.5 inch models which causes a huge white patch to form about an inch above the home button. You made the right decision in choosing the normal iPad!
My main motivation for studying is a genuine love of learning! I’ve always had a fascination about how something works and came to be and how it has impacted lives and I know that the more I study, the more I get to find out!
I absolutely adore the mildliners, they’re my staple stationary. 😍Main motivation had got to be…. Having a constant reminder of what I’m working towards, weather that’s a mood board that visible whilst I work or just a ambience playing that sounds like my path (so I want to go into criminology so I play office sounds, maybe some city towns as well)
Ruby Granger, you really inspire my daily routine. I light a candle every day before studying as a ritual. I love your videos and I hope you can be a very successful person in all aspects.
My main motivation to study is having the ability to grasp concepts that can be applicable to my everyday life. If I learn about how the Victorians lived, I can compare my lifestyle to theirs and include some useful tips! It's always so interesting to learn history and the overall progression we have faced as a society. Loved the video Ruby!
For people who like to write digitally but only have a laptop, I strongly recommend buying a Wacom writing pad. They connect to the computer seamlessly and it is quite budget friendly. I use it basically every day for writing equations in my laptop
My main motivation for studying is the fact that no matter how much you learn, there’s always something more to discover! It’s an endless journey which helps you develop as a character and I find that the more I study and learn, the more motivated I am to explore this world further 💙
I study to keep my brain busy and to keep myself occupied! I always need balance in my life, and a big part of that for me is studying alongside everything else I do
my motivation to study for now, is to enjoy studying! I am currently just declared my major and I loved it. I feel very excited for my classes and learning new things. It is just the feeling of learning what you like and find it interesting really pushes and motivates me☺️
my main motivation for studying is knowing that if i work hard and put in the effort i'll be able to help so many people with my knowledge (i want to be a neuroscientist) just knowing that i could be the reason someone gets to live their life is so so motivating and i love it 💓
My main motivation for studying is that you become a new person with every drop of knowledge you get. You are also so privileged if you are able to drink from this well. It might be difficult to bring up water but it is worth it if you can water your soul, mind and body. 🌷 Ruby, your stationary is so aesthetic. I could never. Loved the video as well. I have always wanted a Kanken but it is just a little expensive for me at the moment. Hope you also have a lovely week at uni. 🤗
My main motivation for my studies is to help children aged 12 to 17 with their personal development but also with their historical skills, because I study to become a history teacher in the Netherlands. I am now doing a university master for history teacher. Your tips and videos have already helped me so much in my studies. So thank you for that! With lots of love from the Netherlands- Tessa ;)
Hi Ruby, I love your videos so much! I just wanted to add something because for the fjell raven kanken backpack there's an extra from the brand itself that provides more pockets, I have it and it's really amazing
As a long-time fan, I think it would be super to have a study planner autographed by you. Also, this was a very informational video of the study aids you use. With so much information available in so many formats, it’s vital to access and store info quickly and efficiently.
Thanks for doing this! I was contemplating getting an iPad vs a ReMarkable, but I ended up getting an iPad bc of the price vs what you can do on it. I just put my iPad on Do Not Disturb and I don’t get notifications :)
My motivation comes from seeing people who aren't able to do so and really realising what a privilege education is and how life-changing it can be. I've always had a passion for helping people even with the smallest things and I believe knowledge is always a step in the right direction
My main motivation for studying is to better myself and develop a better perspective on the world. Learning about the world deepens my understanding and allows me to contribute to society in better ways (teaching, sharing knowledge, etc.).
The main reason for me studding signlanguage is so that those who have no hearing & or voice who come to my shop can order a drink without feeling misunderstood. A little kindness for the deaf. Love you ruby
This is so lovely Thomas! Could you send me an email at rubygrangercontact@gmail.com and let me know your address so I can send you out a yearly planner 😇x
I’ll never stop recommending the kaweco sport line of fountain pens. I have the classic plastic one and an aluminum one and they’re so so reliable and portable
My main motivation for studying is your videos, like most of the time I will use a study with me video of yours to get a little motivation to do my work and it goes a long way to allow me to achieve my study goals
My main motivation for studying is that I really want to learn and understand how things work. I’ve always been asking questions about everything, and being at Uni and having access to journals and books and all that has offered me so many opportunities. And I want to learn how to learn so that I can continue to grow and hopefully help others as well :)
First of all, I just wanted to say what a great inspiration you have been in my studying journey, I am currently in high school and the main source of my motivation comes from my surrounding, I live in a third world country where education is not spread out equally hence I am so grateful to have a huge privilege and therefore won't take it for granted.
Before college, my main motivation was just that I love learning so much, but now that I have a specific career in mind my main motivation for studying is to achieve my goal of becoming a journalist! Though I am a student journalist already, I want nothing more than to work at a local paper. I love the idea of community journalism and reporting on all the niche stories of people, events, and happenings within a community. Journalism is a job where I get to continue researching and learning everyday while telling people's stories and being a voice for the community.
My main motivation for studying comes from this Lemony Snicket quote: "They say in every library there is a single book that can answer the question that burns like a fire in the mind." - Therefore I feel like the more I study, the closer I am to finding that answer.
Great video Ruby
I mean that's just how the story goes
Omg I LOVE Lemony Snicket! Some of my favorite books! 💛💛💛
Another lemony quote: “I like to think that a library is like an island in a vast sea of ignorance. Particularly if the library is tall and the surrounding area has been flooded.”
Omfg Lemony Snicket is my idol🥺🍋
Lol for me it’s the more I study the more I find out how many things I don’t know
My main motivation for studying is: "If an egg is broken by an outside force, life ends. If broken by an inside force, life begins. Great things always begin from inside and are not forced." Lóve this videó so much!
love your quote!
So inspiring!
I love the .38 muji pen. I use them all the time.
Have you tried the 0.38 pilot G2? It doesn't skip at all like the G-TECs and it's also very fine. Super basic, I know, but it's also a great option that's commonly available.
Really? I've been a devote Muji fan but I recently discovered the G-Tec-C4 and honestly I'm hooked. I feel like I can just write faster with it.
@@funcisco Maybe it's just an issue I had; I also often switched between writing in script for notes and in print for equations so that might have contributed to it not working well for me.
My motivation for studying:
"Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do." -Pelé
I love that quote Emily 💕
For mildliners: I don't think they are overhyped at all too. The colours are beautiful and i had them for almost 3 years (the same ones) and only after 3 years they stopped working, however, I should mention that i was using them daily for taking notes and doodles in my bullet journal. Honestly, if I had to select only one markers to have for the rest of my life, mildliners would be my first choice!
Mine finished after a few months and I didn’t even use them much 😅
@@nishachhetri oh but how did that happen for one person the product lasts for years and for the other person for months ???
Well, they do smudge lot’s, but the colors are nice 👍
I'm 32 and I *finally* just started university - psychology! So my motivation to study is that I want to be the change I'd like to see in the world and give back all the good psychologists gave me during all these years :)
(I was convinced I did not need the Remarkable but now I'm not so sure, it looks so pretty and useful! I like that it has no notifications nor other distracting features as well, it's starting to look way too tempting)
its worth it!
good luck on your course :)
I had it but it wasn’t worth it for me for the price
good luck! i hope you will do well
The thing about the notifications is that you can turn off notifications while studying if you don’t want them, for example all apple products on mostly recent updates have Do Not Disturb mode the remarkable does one less thing than what the iPad can do so would justify that price point even less
Oh yesssss
The Remarkable reminds me of using an iPod or DAPs. Like you want to listen to music without being distracted by notifications
I am getting convinced. I like the way that it limits me to reading, annotating and writing. But I love colors too.

Just incase someone was looking for a cheaper alternative to the Remarkable -
I was looking into buying a Remarkable (because it honestly seems incredible), but the price was just so far out of my budget it was almost laughable.
I am quite a heavy writer, but the pad comes with multiple spare nibs, which suggests to me that they are expected to be worn down.
thank you actually!
You're a lifesaver!
Oh, thank you for advice!
It’s also satisfying to flip through all my notes at the end of the semester.
i think that for some people it's just the fact that you can always have your info on you but also the environmental side of preserving trees and production waste. on the other side, you can always recycle paper so i personally also dont really see the hype esp if you dont have the money for the tablets
because if I loose my notes they are useless + carrying thick binders of paper with you everywhere hurts my back
For me it's like, I go through so many notebooks that it almost feels illegal??? Like, I feel bad for essentially wasting so much paper, that this does seem like a great alternative
@@kd1330 same with real paper I‘m always scared to write big because it feels like a waste of paper and I also never find the stuff I wrote again 😅
I want to be so good at what I do that I am able to look at a patient, and tell them that they are going to be alright.❤
Love your content, Ruby, keep going!✨
Yes to this idea! ❣️
Thank you!
7:07 would definitely love to see a video on how you use your iPad for studying!
My motivation for studying:
I just love learning and its what makes me feel happiest especially when im stressed out.
I agree with you! I have nearly the same mindset
the graphic tablet is like an ipad? or any other tablet?
My main study motivation was at first to get good grades to get into the schools I wanted but now as I’m only studying a singer/songwriter program my heart sincerely beats for I do it to learn and grow as an artist and musician. I’ve been subscribed to your channel for almost two years now and it wasn’t until the dawn of this academic year that I truly began to understand your whole study philosophy and how life really changes for the better once you choose to follow love. I didn’t even intend for this comment to be this long and I suppose that in a way shows it.
In other words my motivation is ❤️
A video about how you use your tablet for studying would be so helpful! I'd love to see one :)
Your voice is literally soooo soothing!!!!!
this is definitely my comfort channel. so calm and motivating at the same time.
My main motivation for studying is : "good things come to those who work really hard" . I'm still at school and I want to use this time where I can learn so many things for life. I also like the quote "Do what you can't do and soon you will be able to do it".
I love your reviews and you seem very genuine so thank you for the work you put into your videos and keep on being amazing!
growing up with stabilo fineliners....love them. u get used to those ink feeling and it is such an aesthetic
My main motivation for studying is honestly studytubers/studygram. I get motivation just by watching time lapses of people studying and it makes me want to study too. I also make time lapses of me studying when I don’t want to go on my phone because it’s satisfying to see a 50 second time lapse of me doing work. I’ve been watching ruby since middle school and I’m now a freshman in University.
ive had my mildliners for 3 years now and they still work theyre so great
My main motivation for studying is using the Pomodoro method, since I can concentrate for just a period of time.
My motivation for studying:
"It always seems impossible, until it's done" - Nelson Mandela
I absolutely love this quote because it reminds me that if I am having trouble doing certain schoolwork, or finishing homework, I know that it has been done, so I will be able to find an answer and work through it
My motivation for studying is my dream to become knowledgeable in many different fields, not only in the one that I'm studying in Uni. For example, I love reading and studying chess in my free time. Thanks for the video, Ruby!
I do love how you keep things open and honest as opposed to simply promoting them ❤️
I love my paperlike screen protector, it makes taking notes so much more pleasant.
14:15 Windows can screenshot and paste too, use "ctrl+shift+s" to screenshot
and "ctrl+v" to paste
My motivation for studying comes from my hope to be a better person than I was previously. I don't have a concrete definition of what better is other than it being denoted by the effort I put in and the fulfillment I get out of each day. I feel uncertain about my future at times, so what better use of my time than to focus on what I can do in the moment! And lovely video, I appreciate the honesty you show in your review.
My number one motivation to study is the fact that I want to be able to help people and by following my dream career, I can do that actively every single day. Love your videos!!
15:47 You literally just transported me to my childhood. The nostalgia!
Hey Ruby!! My main motivation is honestly you. Whenever I lack in motivation, my number one boost is watching your videos. The way you romanticise school and studying is amazing. Thanks for uploading rubes xx :)
I really like your honesty about this supplies and pleas do how to take digital notes on ipad ❤️❤️
my main motivation for studying is knowing that after I graduate and I get to put my degree to use it will be worth it!
Btw, you can use command+shift+option+4 to copy a screenshot and then you can use command+v to directly paste it wherever you like ( on mac ).
I love these type of videos so much tbh, They’re so intriguing & assist us in shopping smarter :D
✨the more you know✨
I have a Kanken and a Kanken mini. Use the as purses. Last forever. Holds a lot. LOVE THEM! ❤️🎒❤️
I would love them to be more confident going to the theatre or opera, having fun, and experiencing those wonderful feelings that I experience almost every time I go and see a play💕
for the muji pens, if you find them starting to twist, it just means you need to tighten them on the top of the barrel
You made the right decision in choosing the normal iPad!
my main motivation r ur videos, they make me me so happy
My main motivation for studying is enjoying what I do! Learning brings me so much joy and I love learning about things that I'm interested about!
This is a lovely planner Ruby- I really admire your organisation and tenacity when it comes to effective studying.
