Harald Slott-Møller (1864-1937) was a prominent Danish painter and ceramicist, born in Copenhagen. He was a leading figure in Danish naturalism and a pioneer of the Modern Breakthrough in art. Together with his wife, Agnes, he was deeply influenced by Italian Renaissance art and Pre-Raphaelite ideals. A key figure in founding "Den frie Udstilling," Slott-Møller sought to challenge the conservative art establishment of his time. This was interesting. He painted in many different styles but his impressionist pieces were, well, impressive! The two women ankle deep on the beach immediately caught my eye.
Your upper banner text covered up the name of this painting, BTW. That is a little irritating...
