I would just like to say that all the battlers that made it to the top 16 are true artists of the craft. Judging these battles was almost ridiculous simply because every person had a unique take on this art form we love. The community is growing.. New styles, new video crews, new champions, new artists. What matters is we supporting each other and keep spreading our energy.. If we do that there will be little we can not achieve................ We are Family. - Reeps

Man first time in History I saw Napom performing at this event. His Bass was like out of this world. Never ever before had I heard such bass from a human voice.

Watching this live might be the best thing I've ever witnessed. People went batshit insane during the entire tournament, the bass filled up every cell in my body, it was fucking nuts!

Joseph Bruck Yea i agree. It seemed like he was all over the place in all his battles until finals. No flow no structure. But yea Finals he really brought it.
Joseph Bruck I was watching the livestream and I thought the same. Alem did under-perform before the Final came in. I believe Alem did that because he knew he was going to win every single duel. Notice how he let his opponents start first. He could easily respond back after what he had heard. Only in the Final he decided to go first, to try and surprise him with his best shots, to catch him off of his comfort zone (and he did, with the Candy Shop beat). He got lucky at every coin toss and played smart. It was his day. :)
In my opinion, I didn't see anyone capable of beating Alem. Gene was a great surprise and Ball-Zee came close because of the judging, but I didn't think their overall skillset were anywhere close Alem's actual skill level (which revealed itself unbelieveably in the 2nd round of the Final).
Even though Alem really deserved this title, this was still no Skiller vs. Alem to be sure. It wasn't the best Final. But with guys like B-Art and NapoM improving and learning from this experience, I believe we'll have really great and brand new competition coming in 3 years.
Joseph Bruck NapoM offered more creativity and pulled much better sounds, but if the competition would be only based on that, Michael Winslow could enter in and win every time. That's not what beatboxing is.
What was missing with NapoM is the incorporation of his fresh and interesting sounds to technical, awesome, constant beats. In that regard, Alem was and is the clear winner.
He was sloppy and unimpressive to his standards.
Big ups to napom for being the vice champion. Its fucking outrageous how much he improved since the last battle between kenny urban in 2013's midwest battles (i think)

This was the peak of technical beat patterns thanks to Alem, but nowadays you gotta bring more to the table. Eventually, sounding like a mixture of both of these guys will be the standard

Although NaPoM is my fav beatboxer, alem deserved this. NaPoM wasted all his good rountines like his earthquake in a battle that was tipped highly in his favor.
Furthermore, alem is far more experienced than NaPoM in beatboxing and can pratically destroy anyone in his path
Props to them though they both did great regardless
NaPoM changed the beatbox scene forever. The man started the lip roll movement.

4:46 Napom worried lol. Napom is my top 3 favorites and I always thought Alem was arrogant and didnt like him. Until he started making youtube videos and I realized he is a humble and very nice guy. I love him now and see these videos different. Peace.

Graviity mate I beatbox as a hobby. I know beatbox. It was a tough battle either way anyway. Alem’s rounds were better *in my opinion*, but to each their own. Napom’s second round was nice, but it was all liprolls and bass. Alem’s second round was genuine skill and insane technique

I can see why Alem won. Napom's flow and transitions are poor, it's like his beats were just lumped together unlike his previous rounds against Alexinho, Babeli, and Sh0h. Alem has great structure and flow, while showing both, he also maintained his technical mastery over rhythm from going fast to slow while also doing flow and structure breaks in between. Very insane. Napom could have won if he did one of his signatures (Earthquake or Can't roll like this) in his second round, but Alem's second round was very technical and difficult, whilst Napom took it slow which cost him, plus his last routine, he already used it in one of his earlier battles. Come on guys, Alem won this, I do not know why people say he beatbox gibberish and that he's garbage, I can dissect his beats and yep, it's not noise for me, it's actually pretty insane because it exemplifies mastery over flow, structure and rhythm. Alem.

I don't see why everyone is trying to roast NaPom. His melodies, bass, and style is something he perfected. Everyone is only going crazy of Alem because the speed, but his melodies are off pitch and inconsistent. He's a good beatboxer. I just prefer NaPom in this round.
