Wow, what a compliment! Thanks. Ironically the day you wrote that I was teaching a workshop on how to play Cumberland Gap a la Dwight Diller, and a student in the class let me play it on his banjo which he purchased from Sir Dwight! So your comment means a lot :)
@@F_later Yes, he is one of many guides. The relentless beat and playfulness of dancing around it. Not too different from old time fiddle and banjo music!
Thanks so much, it means a lot that other banjo players are listening along 8^) For this video I had a zoom H2 (small audio recorder) stuffed into the back of the banjo! I like getting sound from the back of the banjo because it tends to be deeper and ringy-er.
Excellennt timing. Musicality. Letting the tune breathe. Each note a treasure. Will listen to this many hundreds of times.
so kind of you to say, that's exactly how i strive to play 8^)
Lovely tempo and time feel. Reminds me--in a very good way!--of Dwight Diller?

Wow! There's nothing more heavenly than the sound of a Banjo.
Especially clawhammer.

Wish i had your feel of rhythm and timing.
You got it! Do you ever listen to James Brown?
@@BennyBleu yes, ofcourse. Was/is his rhythmic music your key and guide ?

Your playing is such an inspiration. I absolutely love your albums. Is this filmed with just an iPhone? Your tone comes through so awesome

No forgive, Gringo.. 😊
