Hello Jack The ptac units should come with electric heat, the heat pump activates when the the ambient temperature is within 4 degrees or so from the set point
I'm looking to replace amln armana Model PTH153G35AXXXAA. It won't heat anymore we think the compressor is gone.. What do you suggest for a more up to date replacement unit?
Well, in my personal opinion I think the Amana ptac unit are pretty good as are the GE. But you mentioned that the unit is not heating, it could be the heater coil because the compressor will only work within 4° of the desired temperature. Below that the heater coil should take over. Unless you are just looking to get it replaced?
@@PtacSolutions awesome thx for the quick response I saw there they have a air duct kit but not sure if they will install one since it didn’t initially come with the ptac unit. do u suggest the kit ? Or not ?
@@MSKH1970 Yes, that duct kit is to cool a two room apt. They have to be next to each other and you can send air from one room to the other. The duct kit runs through the wall.
I have model AZ65HO9DABW1 i opens up the aux mode and put it on 60 . I did a quick clean around the unit and when I went to install it only the inner fan blows and the compressor doesn’t kick on after 3-5 minutes .
Good morning sir one question I work for one hotel and I have complain abut the Ptac the guest said they turn off but still something the Ptac is flowing air the fan ?
Do you know what would be the issue where wall thermostat is blowing cold when it gets to -3F from the set temp? GE came and said, nothing is wrong with the unit's control board, and they do not know how the wall thermostat works so, they were useless. When I switched the control from the unit to the wall thermostat it works until it starts blowing freezing cold air when the temp reaches to the -3F of the team in heat mode. Cold is fine. Maybe they screwed up with wiring but nether electrician nor GE said anything about this which is insane.
@@PtacSolutions heat is working but lets say, I would like room to be 74F hot. Then once the temp reaches to 71F, it starts blowing freezing cold and erases the heat temp in the room, making like ice cold. It does not matter what temp you set up, if 80F, when reaches to 77F, same thing. It works just fine with cold air. Very frustrating and now, I disconnected from the wall thermostat and controlling via the unit itself but then electric bill is crazy because nothing tells unit to stop blowing since it does not have any sensors on it, and wall thermostat is not connected. GE is a useless company and as well as the electricians I brought to take a look.
Let's try to eliminate the possibility of a Heat protection error code first, by checking off the following: 1) Is the blower wheel clean( too much dirt on it can affect rpm) 2) Is evaporator coil clean? ( air flow restriction can also be a factor) 3) Function of the blower motor 4) Air filters
How do we control the ventilation control? I’m struggling
This was awesome! Thank you! Would love to find a video about cleaning them XD
Great info!!!
I need help to be able to switch it from thermostat to manual. I appreciate it if you can help me
This might be a ln ignorant question, but why would you want constant fan on?
I tried this on my unit but the aux button does not change anything on the display
hey, is there a way to switch from heat pump to electric coil heating? And if there is, would this heat up a room quicker?

Any way yo get the fan to default to high when using a thermostat? Mine is working fine but comes out at low speed.

hey had 1 installed in my apartment are these PTAC AC's ductless? It seems to cool my 1 bedroom apartment pretty good.
Hello
Yes they are ductless

Good morning sir one question I have this mode AZ45E07DABW2 but i I turn off the Ptac still the fan is blowing air I control by thermostat verdant
Hello Alvaro
If its the blower motor, more than likely you have the smart fan on. Its program to come on for air circulation

Hello
Does the unit cool after the compressor comes on?

Hello,
Maybe you have the constant fan on
I have off # 4n but still is flowing air sometime
My model is AZ45E07DABW2
Is it the indoor fan that work that is doing that?
I am not sure weach one is blowing air can be the fan or the wheels
Have a 41 series 13 yr change ceramic heat element. Main board controller. Check fuses. Still no heat what else can I do. Do have fan
How about the limit switches
Do the heaters turn on in sequence or all at once?
All at once
I did this but the thermostat still won’t control the unit
Cómo se hace para vincular el termostato con el aire
hello, is there a way to have the fan automatically turn off and on after a while?
Yeah, you'll have to turn on the smart fan
@@PtacSolutions i figured it out. thank you!

Hello
So is the problem is that the unit is not heating, and the thermostat sends signal to the unit to start working at -3F?

Ok, sounds like it could be the wall thermostat or the board. Do you know how to bypass the thermostat?
Or do you get any error codes by any chance. The units also do that for Heat protection
