    Awesome video. I love the H system. If you're okay with a little more outdated AF you can grab a H1 or H2 with a film back and 80mm for around 1-2k. Some of the best money I've ever spent.

    I thought both of you did great! And you're right about Jake's emotional connection. However, I don't think it's because he stuck with one location. I think it's mostly because he has more experience shooting models? I know when I first started, skipping around was a way for me to fight off my nerves. At the time, I didn't know how to talk to my subjects and I wasn't (still not) a talkative shooter so moving around gave me time to avoid small talk. But once I gained the experience, and my confidence grew, I was able to stay more stationary and connect more with my subjects better. But moving around and being able to get variations from different locations, in a short period of time, is a wonderful skill set to have because in all editorial and advertising work, it's almost a must do. Anyway, love your passion with film photography!

    Great video as always!
    I know I'm gonna upset a few people but I find the Mamiya 645 AFD just as good as the Hassy H-series. Sure, you don't get flash sync on all shutter speeds but if you're shooting in natural light you don't need a flash, right? And the price for a complete kit is the same as a Hassy film back (kinda) :)

  • @joetowner
    @joetowner 4 роки тому

    It's not a $30k film camera. It's a H5D-50c was $30,000 when it came out in 2014 with the 80mm lens. Taking the digital back off makes it a $6k camera, also known as the H5X.
    If you want to shoot film at this size, the H1/H2 cameras are the exact same, minus TrueFocus.
    It does have a really nice light meter in the HVD 90x viewfinder.
