Hey Bro Awesome, I’m a big fan of Mv8800. I didn’t really have a problem with it but the fastest and most convenient way to use this to me is outboard the mv. And in the protools Sequencer play mv pad , record midi in PTs and have the pro tools play back your MV’s patches and you don’t even hav to sync unless you use a delay effect on sample because it follows PTs MIDI pattern. Fyi .. It does Wayy more. Blessss Bro.
Nice!...I actually rather use PT MIDI b4 any other software or hardware. If I use the MV I like to create my loops or sequences or tracks using the sounds in the computer (matching the tempos)...then use protools to control the MV to then record all of my midi channels at the same time. I usually don’t edit sequence data inside the MV unless Im just applying quantization. I rarely do that! IMO it’s kind of pointless! I’ve edited a drum performance before perfectly. By “perfect” I mean...I took it further than quantizing 100% and manually perfecting the timing by the number. Then once you record that data into PT you wil see the time fluctuations. I’d rather do my editing once in PTs! Plus it saves time because if you know how to use it...(I mean that “you” generally and not towards you personally) for 1!...you may be able to edit all the performance data at the same time! So that alone saves time. Just like for me the only thing I have to worry about is the MV freezing up (cuz at the end of the day it’s still a PC!...lol). This is my second one and it wasn’t taken care of in a disrespectful way so it has its issues. My system is a little older and doesn’t have the speed capability of today’s “usually recommended”. Once I have a few or a couple instruments loaded up I run into playback issues. I know how to address the situation but I hate stopping creative flow to do that! That way my system is more reliable when it’s not reading midi from the actual computer. As far as reliability ...I actually really like using the MPC Renaissance. However some things I “really” don’t like about it so I stay away from it. Sorry man I’m a gear slut myself and I could talk about this stuff all day...

tedo vision I think I get u...if you’re asking about triggering sounds or samples with the MV. You can trigger any of that with any software. As long as you can transmit that midi signal to your daw from the MV you’re good. What has the samples/loops just needs to see or detect the midi signal.
tedo vision you have to be very specific. When you say”midi” in the MV do you mean recording your daw with the MV?? Or, are you saying you want to record your MV with your daw?
