Drone Valley 65W PD Charger - tinyurl.com/56...
The Neo Charging Hub is a clever little device that allows you to charge up to 3 batteries at the same time from a single charger. DJI added one more new feature to the charging hub that makes it smarter and faster than any of the other hubs and in this video I explain what that feature is. Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions!

That’s wild…I just ordered a Neo. Don’t tell my wife!
LOL, it's a small price to pay for a ton of fun flying. I hope you get some good weather and some good flights!
My Neo will be here Monday, 🤓.. I've been flying since the DJI phantom 1, I still have a DJI spark a parrot Bebop a DJI mini and mini 2. I'm looking forward to this little drone, can't hide it from the wife anymore. I just claim that it relaxes my PTSD.. Lol😁
@@UFOSoldier_ Just enjoy flying it, it's a great quad that you can take anywhere.
Me too! Lol
Really good video I just got a neo and wanted to know how the hub worked when charging the batteries
I'm glad you found it helpful! The charging hub is a really neat design for a drone.
I have multiple drones and use to take with me, the Anker Solix C300 DC. It has multiple usb-c HQ ports. DJI batteries discharge themselves when you do not use them, to half capacity, that is why I charge them on the day of use. When the 3rd battery is empty after using the first two, the first is already completely full. The batteries charge with approximately 45 watts, use the original Anker cables of 140 watts.
Thanks Rick, Just got my Neo and the charging hub. Best gift ever !
It's a great little drone and I hope you have a lot of fun flying it. Rick
Thank you for these important informations, very good. Thanks from germany❤
Very informative brother thanks for sharing happy flying❤
Glad you enjoyed it, the Neo is a pretty amazing drone!
5:25 nice save)
Thanks, my reaction time increases when expensive gear is flying around.
@@Dronevalley same))))
I use my 65w Charger and a 120w usb c Cable to charge my neo and mini 4 pro batteries love it!
Good information Rick
Glad it was helpful! I hope you had a great holiday!
Great information about how to better use the charging hub for the Neo. I know about using a 65 watt or better charging brick to charge all three batteries at the same time. But I wasn't aware of the two battery charging routine when using a 20w to 30 watt charging brick. Thanks for sharing Rick.
But he's wrong. 45 watts is all you need.
Nope, if you took a few minutes to actually read the manual, you'd see that DJI (and me) recommend a 65W charger. As I've explained, using a larger charger is more efficient, which helps charge the batteries safely and extends the life of the charger.
@@Dronevalley I have never had a single charger fail on me. Not one. Stop repeating yourself. I already know I'm correct.
@@812MSS You sure are one stubborn flier that can't simply admit when they're wrong. All you have to do is check the manual on page 43 and you'll see that DJI recommends a 65W charger, just like I've said. We've lost our minds in this country over the last few years where somehow opinions count as much as facts. In this case you're wrong, so please stop arguing and just accept the facts. Honestly, if you're really this confused about something as simple as charging the battery, you're really not ready to be flying a drone.
@@Dronevalley I always use the 65 watt charger or better.
Very interesting and useful information. Thank you for sharing!!! Happy New Year, wishing all the best!
Thank you. I’m (male 61) a Drone greenhorn and have yet to fly my DJI Neo. I also bought RC-N3 Controller. My older charger - that says 65w - did not work. Not PD? cable? Nevertheless, I’m here to support Drone Valley and bought your charger kit (with cable) and Neo case. Once the WX warms up, I look forward to its maiden voyage.
Im excited to enter the Drone world before the knuckleheads try to ban DJI! Like the Porsche commercial sad: “DJI, there is no substitute.”
Welcome to the world of drones! You'll love the Neo and the N3 goggles will take you to another level. We'll be fine flying for a long time and I'm not too worried about the "ban". It was dropped from the recent legislation and I'm hoping it's done for good.
@@Dronevalley Thanks Drone Valley. I have the handheld RC-N3 controller that you can attach your iPhone. I'm not ready to invest in Googles yet.
good to know how hub works depending on input it gets. I'm thinking of getting DJI Neo Fly More combo as I dont have anything from DJI ecosystem yet, so it makes sense price-wise than getting everything separately. I have 30k mAh 65W powerbank, so I'll be able to swap batteries and charge all three in the field :)
I use power adapter from my MacBook pro. It charges both Neo and Mini batteries in hubs within hour. So recommend.
Haven't seen a video lately on drone law. I'm sure many would appreciate it.
I have a few ideas for some videos covering that topic, so stay tuned!
Hello, thats very nice to know that, thanks.
What about storage charge the batteries? I wish it could have some function to do that when we park the drone long time.
This hub can only charge them, it doesn't provide a "storage" function for the batteries. They should discharge automatically after a few days and will hover around 30% until you charge them again. Be sure to keep an eye on them though, you don't want them to drop to zero.
Is it ok to leave the batteries in the charging hub buddy. As in will they still discharge automatically?
I admire your enthusiasm. It’s like you’re racing a Formula One car of information! But maybe ease off the throttle a bit so the rest of us can keep up. Shortly after the 6:00 mark, it felt like even you were trying to catch up with your own words. Thanks for the tips though. Keep it up.
Hello Rick. How do I use the other way of the charing hub, as a power bank ? If I plug my phone to it, the phone ( galaxy s23 ultra ) start to charge the Neo batteries... kind of weird.. ;-) Do I have to press the button on the hub somehow ?
What happens if you left the batteries charged? Does they go to storage charge as some Dji batteries did in the past?
Nope they don't. Charged all the three and 3 days later it was still 100%. But I don't know if it will if left more than 3 days.
@ thanks, so the only way of get them in storage is to cut charge at around 75% or fly the drone for a couple of minutes. Not very useful
Yes, right now that's the only way. I'm hoping that DJI updates the firmware to include the auto-discharge function in the hub. Honestly, the battery chemistry in the Neo cells is not that sensitive to holding a full charge as the older LiPo cells were so it's less of an issue.
Do they still have the issue where you shouldn't leave them in the drone or charging hub so they can safely discharge while being stored? This was a known issue with the Mini/Air batteries and I can't find related community notes for these new batteries.
DJI actually corrected this in a firmware update they released last year. You should be OK to leave them in the charging hub for the auto-discharge as long as you're on a newer version of firmware. Thanks for the post.
You can use a 100W PD powerbank with the hub. It will charge all 3 batteries at the same time quite fast. Fantastic on the GO. And if you have 6 batteries, and 2 hubs you have 0 downtime between flights :D
Good morning, I hope I’m not causing any trouble, but I’m so excited... Has the winner of the DJI Mini 4K already been chosen? Thank you for what you do, and have a great day to you and your whole family!
No worries. We have picked all the winners and sent out notifications. We're still waiting for a few replies and if we don't hear back by tomorrow, we'll pick a new winner for some of the prizes and send a new notification. Be sure to check your SPAM folder to make sure you don't miss anything. Thanks for entering and good luck!
So...the neo station will use depleted batteries to top off another one?
Nope, right now only the Air 3 charging hub offers that feature. I'm hoping they release a firmware update to add it to other hubs. Stay tuned and I'll post a clip if they do. Rick
Great clear delivery! Thanks
Glad you found it helpful! I have a few more Neo clips posting this week so be sure to stop back soon.
I use my Jackery power unit to charge it
try to buy a 3s on 1/7/25 but dji can not ship to ny- nj- pa this is news huh. might be a snow thing were buried under 4"
The snow in the Northeast is delaying a lot of gear. I have 2 UPS deliveries that I'm waiting for right now as well. I'm sure things will be back to normal by tomorrow. Hang in there, it's worth it.
Cables are really important. I just git a battery pack, with a regular cable can’t use my charger. Original cable yes!
Most folks think that all cables are the same and there is a huge difference between them. Even the most powerful chargers on the market can only push so much power through a janky cable so always find one that handles at least 65W to be safe.
I use my galaxy 24 adapter and it charges all 3 at one time
Charles, you're all set as that charger is a 45W model. It'll work great with the Neo but struggle a little if you ever decide to upgrade to the Air series. You'll need a 65W charger for the larger batteries. Happy Flying!
45 watts is all you need for the 3 Neo battery hub - to charge all 3 at once (15 watts each). I m doing this presently. Why are you saying 65 watts? Incorrect info.
Bob, if you check the manual you'll see that you need at least 45 watts to charge all three. Even though you can use a 45W charger, you'll be pushing it to run at it's max while charging. If you already have the 45W charger than of course use it. But if you're buying a new one, the cost difference between a 45W and a 65W is minimal and the larger charger will run cooler. If you find one with dual ports, you'll even be able to charge all three batteries with the hub and the controller at the same time.
@@Dronevalley That's a lot of words to say I'm right. Thanks.
