    Disney is the actual reason I finally quit smoking! It was when there was still spots convenient to smoke, however, watching my 9 year daughter wait for me all the time, was my final straw, I swore next time I went I would be smoke free, and I was! It's been 13 years!

    For the cost you’re paying at the resorts, the sleeper sofas are uncomfortable unless your very petite or a child. The costs really have skyrocketed it’s quite astounding.

    I used to go to Disney with my mom. I have not been back since she passed away. However, We loved the wake up call. We would set an alarm so that we would be up and awake before the call. Then it would be really fun having a Disney character call us when we were fully awake. It was just a little thing but, it was fun. Thank you for making me think of my mom,

    Another important thing to keep in mind about the WiFi at the resorts: It is _NOT SECURE._
    Do NOT do sensitive things if at all possible (like paying bills, banking stuff, etc). Whenever anybody in my family needs to do something like that, I turn my phone into a password protected hotspot that my family can hop on to, do their important thing, and hop back off.

    The really bad part about the Shampoo and Soap being mounted to the wall is that you cannot see the ingredients, which is really bad for people like me with allergies. Because even though I bring my own shampoo and soap (and hand soap too) it can get dicey when someone in my party uses the hotel soaps.

    When we stayed at Kidani earlier this year, we got a larger room with both a standard bath and a walk-in shower, and two toilets. My wife was in HEAVEN (we live in a one-bathroom house and let’s just say timing can be a problem).
    The one problem we’ve had the last few times is that we never have a luggage stand handy. We can get one with a phone call, but we never used to have this trouble.

    Thanks! I have a hotel tip regarding potentially overpaying, especially if one’s group is a mix of out-of-state people and at least one Florida resident. This is based on my recent experience. In Fall 2021, my 3-person family booked a room at the Pop Century hotel for this month (just got back this past Sunday) to share with my aunt. She’s a Florida resident, but we aren’t. When we first made the reservation, at the time, we were told that they would apply the Florida Resident discount when she checked in. But when we got there a week ago Monday, it turned out that either we'd been lied to or the rules changed in the meantime. Because Pop Century (and presumably Disney hotels in general) have (at least now) specific "Florida Resident" rooms, and we had to have booked one of those instead to get the discount. The concierge was apologetic, but they couldn't switch things around for reasons I don't remember.
    TL;DR: If your party is a mix of Florida residents and non-Florida residents, you need to book a specific "Florida Resident" room to get a discount.

    I mean, unless you’re tall, I think twins are comfortable. I’ll take sleeping on a sleeper chair, or even comfy couch, over sleeping next to someone.
    I will say as someone who worked at a hotel, if your request is based on having kids, mobility issues, or disability, PLEASE say so in the request. Hotel staff will always prioritized needed requests over desired requests. We want people to be as comfortable as those who don’t have these considerations.
    And most will honor connecting rooms unless they’re literally booked. People who don’t need them tend to dislike them because the sound travels easier through the doors than walls.

    Just went for a 6 night 5 day trip to hit all the parks for the first time ever. Me and husband and my parents all went together and stayed in a single room with a separate couch space and full kitchenette and it was so nice. If your going on a budget and don't care about characters being in your hotel room I highly suggest a good neighbor hotel. Much cheaper and I found out the amenities were actually better than the budget on property hotels like all stars were offering.

So we decided to go with two standard rooms either close or beside each other so that we still all have enough space and bathrooms and beds because those beds aren’t very large.

    My family usually stays in villas because we're DVC so I had no idea mini fridges were standard in all rooms now! That's great to know.
    We usually go in January/February via driving, and one of the risks at that time of year is winter storms. This last trip we had to scramble to get accommodations for an extra two nights past when we were supposed to leave because of a winter storm making it too dangerous to drive.
    We were staying at Boardwalk and were thankfully able to snag a room on the Inn side (using the excess points we had after having to cancel our previous trip for Covid which ended up being a lifesaver!), but we didn't know they had mini fridges so we left our last couple bottles of water and soda in the villa that we had to vacate! Needless to say that sucked! lol

If it was me I would just stay at one hotel especially if it's a short stay if you feel that you do want deluxe accommodations then your best bet is really to either rent DVC points or stay within the Disney bubble at a VRBO this way everybody has everything that they need and are comfortable

    I like to bring my own coffee to resorts so I don't have to wait in line first thing in the morning. Is there a trick to determining if your room has a drip coffee maker or a kcup? (Or like they had in Wilderness Lodge last time I was there, some weird version which was neither and only really worked with the packs which came in the room. A - Weren't enough of them and B - They weren't good coffee.) Trying to figure out what's in the room based on the Disney website is really difficult.

      PSA for hotel room coffee makers: always test run those things first, i've boiled water for stuff like instant ramen or oatmeal for snacks in the room in multiple hotels and the water has come out a murky brownish yellow. i haven't used one at disney but if you plan on using one anywhere i would suggest testing out the cleanliness of said coffee maker before using it to actually make something you plan on consuming

    Meh. Occupancy is a suggestion especially if you have APs. Disney doesn’t even care. We’ve put our family of 6 in rooms for 4-5 occupancy. We have young kids and while we’d prefer more space, we can’t afford it. The front desk 100% knew as well. They even gave us guest cards for early park entry. Even in club level where they get to know you by name.
    If you need the occupancy for ticket packages or park reservations, then there’s no way around it.

    • @JamesMiller-jq7bs
      @JamesMiller-jq7bs Рік тому +1

      there is not a parking garage flat lot with a tram to take you to TTC then you must either take the monorail or a boat to the Magic Kingdom - up to 45 minutes from parking to enter - alt if your are staying at resort you can take bus it drops you off near front of park and you by pass TTC. Disney World is much larger than disney land the other parks and downtown disney (at the world Disney Springs) are miles apart and you can not walk to them from most hotels and if you can its not a 5 min walk to the parks- we just stayed at grand f and walked - it was about a mile - nice walk - but not like Disneyland

    • @loracaro4427
      @loracaro4427 Рік тому

      That particular resort is a very big resort there is an internal bus system within that particular hotel. Now you can request something close to the food courts you can request something on the first floor if anybody has any mobility issues and I believe you can request something close to the bus stops. I personally would not stay there especially during the height of the season I think you should go to another resort because it can take a very long time to get to the parks because they have to do all the pickups within the complex before they take you to the park.

    • @cyrano661
      @cyrano661 Рік тому +1

      @@loracaro4427 i totally disagree. The skyliner to Epcot and Hollywood studios saves you SO much time and is very efficient. You can request a room near the skyliner. Yes the resort is big but each village has its own pool and you can also dine at the Riviera is your room is closer to that one.

    If we ever stay at a resort, I may have to try seeking one of those connected rooms, or at least mention it because yes, the ones I take trips with do snore...I refer to them as "the Grizzly Bears". :P
    I didn't know you could take a white noise machine or something, though! Then again, we're from Texas so we'd have to do so much more than simply drive over to Disney and all that...We'd have to fly. :/
    (side note: I actually despise coffee, LOL; I call it Stink Juice because it smells atrocious to me. So I can easily skip on that one! Gimme a Zero soda or Gatorade instead)

    On the topic of smoking. I vape, mine don't smell or set off smoke alarms. Is there really any way they could tell I was if i did? Like if i wanted to chill in a bath and destress. Or stand on the balcony and vape. It would be almost impossible to tell. Hell I vape at work when I'm not suppose to but no one can tell unless they physically see me. I stayed at the art of animation hotel back in 2019 for 2 weeks. I assumed no smoking was for legit cigarettes only.
    I smoked in my room and had no issues. Tho again I didn't think about vaping.
    Anyway my question I suppose is what happens if we get caught? Do we get a charge to the room or kicked out?
