I grew up in Houston during the 80s and 90s. And in the 80s, 90s, 2000s, honestly I remember just a handful of big weather events. I vaguely remember hurricane Alicia in 1983, then there was a big winter freeze in 1989, a big flood around 1994, tropical storm Allison in 2001, and then hurricane Ike in 2008. 5 big weather events over 3 decades. Now compare that with everything that's happened to Houston since 2015, the last 9 years. Memorial Day flood, Tax Day flood, hurricane Harvey, tropical storm Imelda, winter blizzard freeze storm of 2021, and I want to say there was another winter freeze storm around 2018....and now this. I'm sure I've missed something in the past 9 years.

There was a flood on March 4, but I don't remember the exact year. I believe it affected mostly the areas closer to downtown the worst.

Everyone should have generators. Don't rely on the power companies.

Amen to that! I bought a whole house generator 2 years ago after becoming fed up with power outages, not caused by weather, but by stupid people running their cars into power poles. The weather here in NE Texas can get really hairy on occasion, too. Just tired of it. Best money I ever spent. Since then, my town has had three weather-related outages lasting a couple of days for each one. And my electricity just kept right on going.

Are you gonna start crying? Shut up. All of Houston is having problems. No one needs your selfish "what about me!?" bs right now.

It's been less than 48 hours as I write this. They will not remain this cheerful as more time passes. I lived in metro Houston when Hurricane Ike came through and many people started becoming very irritable and sometimes violent when the power stayed off for multiple days and they ran out of supplies. We will soon start hearing about physical fights (and worse).

We had Ike parties-the eye went right over us. We kept saying we needed to have anniversary parties because that 2 weeks without power brought us all so close together!

This is such a tragedy, especially for the families of loved ones who died or were seriously injured. I hope the media does a lot of news stories about the construction cons that will come to Houston by thieves who want to capitalize on this human suffering. I worked at the Red Cross and was assigned to work in national disasters several times. Many of these victims who lost houses or had property badly damaged will be approached by con men posing as contractors who are only there to get a good chunk or most of the insurance money given to rebuild houses and other structures. They will arrive with smiles and phony promises. Get a fat check, perhaps do a little work, and then leave and never be seen again. So, victims will be victimized again. I urge the media to interview consumer protection experts to tell people how to protect themselves while doing their homework and checking out licenses and doing a good amount of research before hiring a contractor. It will save them a lot of time and money.

Those poor rich people. How will they be able to deal with the difficulties of not having air conditioning? Tell me they don't have generators.

Best video ever, Thanks for continuing to update... I prefer to trade in the stock market or crypto because it is more profitable. I earn an average of $34,840 per week even though I barely do any business.

Genuinely what a great community after such a horrendous storm, to come together, help clean up and try to make the best of what they can….That’s America that I want to be apart of. Not the America’s that politicians are controlling things, corrupt, and not honorable to Our Counties citizens. I heard Biden say that the economic polls are wrong, and that 65% of Americans, OUR finances are fine but we are concerned about the economy’s finances. He then said we have the money to spend but we are angry we have to spend it…🤔 65% of All Americans are Well off financially enough and content?? Is this from the “right poll” When he said the polls were wrong, he called us all liars! Because we took those polls in all honesty and he is now saying “those polls wrong and 65% of Americans are well-off enough they could spend money but they’re not because they’re angry.”😡I’m not a liar and I know my financial situation Thank U 🤯
