Yup, and the warden being competent is a nice change too.
I was a little disappointed with the main mission(s) and the side missions seem to be just checklists. However, the new reserve, waterfoul rework, weapon wheel, and just the new game to hunt has kept me more than happy. Also Oiva is my kind of crazy dude.
@@AnteSocial86 well that’s a bit disappointing but I agree the smaller things has made it an enjoyable experience again. Also I feel like it’s animals everywhere unlike certain maps where certain areas you may not see anything.
With the massive amount of new birds, it would be awesome to see new dogs like pointers and labradors
Nothing more relaxing than kicking back after the gym and watch the most relaxing channel on YT with a guy who’s voice never gets annoying and hunts in such a peaceful manner thank u for posting my guy
I’ll say that even though I’ve only done the first mission and played a little on this map, it’s one of my favorites so far. Cool animals, less pushy main mission, and a fun, competent warden make it really enjoyable

Also if you ask me I had yesterday a great moose hunt with 4 diamond moose with 3 on Yukon and one on Medved on my own maps.

The black grouse are problably my favorite new species. They just look so good!
Im not sure if you said in a video or on stream but thank you so much for telling me to take my backpack off it helped me get two diamond capercaillie yesterday and also have you checked out te awaroa? its mind boggling
I have not checked it out yet! Only map I’ve been on after the release and update is revontuli and srp!

@@Flintergaming you have to get on te awaroa i found 8(!)Red Deer Drink Zones at one lake and I got a piebald and an Albino Female Red Deer intitianol(I don’t know if this is how to write it😅)

I had a bronze Drake goldeneye that kept coming back to my spread at least 5 times, these ducks will come back if you scare them off

Could be cool with dogs like norbotenspets or finnish spitz. They can be used from squirels to bear. Imagine if they could make those black grouses to sit on trees.
It would be cool if there was a multi mount with all the duck species as well maybe on a large platform
I shot a hybrid that is a wigeon/mallard in game.. had absolutely no idea they were gonna put that in game but I am so stoked over it!!
Waterfowl has never been my favorite species but this map is nice.

I noticed the ducks spook before they land or when they land with the water blind. Use the tree stand or the regular blind to not spook them.
Oh another fun revontuli stuff: you remember that MASSIVE rack moose you got once? I got my second one on this map! Three diamond moose, two diamond of those ones that are like turkeys, and a mela brown bear! So I’d say pretty good luck! I did mess up and accidentally shoot a level three rock ptarmigan while grounded though :/
2:56 I've noticed stuff like this too. Even on Layton there are flocks of mallards that aren't attracted to callers/decoys and you can't spot them. So they may have been wigeon but it was just a case of what I just mentioned. Unattracted to lures and unspottable despite being the species the lures are for.
They’re likely static flocks just there for the looks, Hersh had them for geese.

Canadian geese on Hirschfelden are completely arseways since the update. They fly more like small ducks, land out of nowhere with no warning, and take off like rockets when they're leaving. The goose grind for money may be a thing of the past if this keeps up

I've been wanting to try the new duck hunting, but my god the Whitetails on this map! It's just so good, I haven't been able to peel myself away long enough to try anything else yet.
i really enjoy the bird hunting on this map
The only thing I don't like about the newer maps is I seems they keep adding more and more lakes. There's only a few maps that are consistent for drink times for hunting, it seems like they're avoiding that lol. I do absolutely love the ducks and upland game though so it's fair

I've been getting good luck with diamond ducks I've gotten a tufted and wigeon and a piebald diamond Mallard on Layton kinda wish it was common Mallard. Also had piebald diamond harlequin but I want commons of cinnamon teal,Mallard and harlequin now and a diamond Eurasian Teal
I've been playing on ps4 and shooting the upland birds in the forest is so difficult
Been struggling too. For everything apart from Ptarmigan I recommend crouch walking whilst scoped with a .22 rifle. Be patient, be vigilant, be quiet. I went North, Northeast from the starting outpost and found plenty of grouse and capercaillie in the forest (as well as some widgeon at the small double lake). This way you should see/hear them before they see/hear you. Good luck
My first day in revontuli is shot a troll level whitetail, troll lynx and I spotted a level 3 capercaillie but I haven’t got him yet. But after probably 3 years I finally got a diamond moose
Has anyone noticed that Harlequin ducks don’t land on Yukon anymore?

I was thinking if those guy's who made SCUM joined Call of the wild team we would get the game of the century. No zombies but one bigfoot in each map would make it scary enough.
That would be cool if there was some type of lore to it! Even if it was just for a Halloween event or something

Someone in multiplayer a month ago told me the next GO was going to be black bear. I told him that wasn't enough to retain me, moose would be the first one to get me to grind for one.
I'm not really interested in this map, too much small game, but it has introduced a massive number of bugs with it. Fast travel to a tent and you get stuck in it. Tripods, the seat is floating off to the side and the icons no longer show up on the map. Wolves on Yukon run right through the water. Animals are spooking at 250-300m in some instances, I ran up to a moose within 50m while she was still calm, same with some caribou.
I don't know how long it will take to fix some of these bugs but they are borderline game breaking.
I’ve found two bugs in this map. One is a floating black thing on one lookout points and the other is seeing the northern lights in the day time
I think i’m one of the first to get a diamond bean goose as i’ve seen none on youtube reddit or discord

Why is that that when you are spotting these birds, it gives you a trophy range of (e.g.) 630-700. I got my 2nd perk in Spotting Knowledge, and the birds are just saying "1-2" or "2" for approximate trophy range?
Curious question for you, or anyone else for that matter, have you experienced any birds that have survived being shot?
Till this update I don't think I've ever had a bird hit that didn't bleed out. The other day I hit a duck with birdshot and me and my loyal hound tracked it all the way till the dog went to "tracking prey" (so it had stopped bleeding) but it still had 25% to 50% health when I checked the blood.
I was a bit surprised by that. 😮
Sometimes I feel like I gotta shoot things twice with the shotgun but yeah that’s odd.. if it keeps doing that I’d join the hunter official discord and put that in the support or feedback channel

Yes there’s a few species of geese to hunt
It is so difficult to shoot birds off the wing with shotguns on console. It sucks to try to track them with a bumper on that bead.
I got a diamond hazel grouse by driving atv and stopped when it came across in the sky :D

Hey Flinter, I really like the ptarmigan, but I am bad at hitting them in the air. I usually use rifles, but I’ve seen many people use shotguns for the upland species. Should I also use one?
Yeah I’d definitely recommend a shotgun for them!

I think my fifth diamond was tufted duck and it was my first tufted duck I ever shot and it was a level three and just made diamond

The bloodhound helps enormously with that. As long as there's a blood trail to follow, your good boy will find your trophy

Anybody else having the problem on Xbox where you can't access your inventory? Everytime I try and put birdshot on the 12ga my inventory goes blank.

As a console player within the Harvest Screen we obviously don’t get to view the animal in its colors. Is this a setting issue I’m messing up with, or is this something all console players experience? Would love to see the plumage on the waterfowl and upland birds up close once harvested.
