Did Guilliman have a hand in setting up the countermeasures against the Hexarchy? Did he see it coming? Back in M31, Guilliman's adoptive father, Konor, died in the Primarch's arms because Konor's treacherous colleagues staged a coup against him while Guilliman was on campaign. The Hexarchy scenario played out...after Guilliman had left Terra...on campaign. OF FREAKING COURSE GUILLIMAN SAW THE HEXARCHY COMING. The tendency forgot that as a creation of the emperor, Guilliman's "tendency" to reform and build failsafes is not a corruption of the emperor's machine, but in fact a correction feature working as intended. The emperor intended upon a government body run by baseline humans, but with his primarch son Roubute to occasionally adapt policy to the needs of the imperium's function. In their short sighted devotion to the emperor's word, they lost scope of the emperor's action, rendering themselves heretics.
Primarch specialized in politics, administration and grand strategy: does something even regular humans consider politically naive (19:30) High dunces of Terra: "I see nothing wrong here. Others primarchs would beat them too as they too have just as good strategic minds, they just don't want to put and effort in it. Russ would just decapitate them so he wouldn't have to deal with the talking
I’d say any of the Primarchs, excluding Angron could probably have put down the actual rebellion. However I’d also say Guilliman is one of the few who would put down the rebellion with enough tact to minimize the loss of human life and material resources. The Lion, Dorn, Russ, they’d all make quick work of these traitors. However in their expedience to obtaining a resolution, there would likely be at least a small civil war. One that would still cost millions of lives and waste valuable time and guns. Guillimans patience in this manner is what particularly sets him apart.

This is some labored acolyte recounting the tales of this Grim Dark future - they tell it as it should be told, a tragedy continuing to unfold until its seemingly inevitable end. A sadness of what was and what could've been, and a fear of what is yet to come.

Holy crap! I can't believe I didn't come to the same conclusion. Guilliman HAD to have planned this. Russ may be ultimate fighter, Alpharius Omegon the ultimate spymaster, and Dorn the ultimate defender, but Guilliman was specifically bred and raised to be the ultimate politician. Roboute knew the Indomitus Crusade would take centuries to complete and needed to ensure that the Static Tendency wouldn't erode his legitimacy while he was away. The ever encroaching forces of Chaos meant he couldn't stay on Terra to wait for the Tendency to die out and if he tried to uproot it by force the followers would just take their movement underground and pop up even stronger a few decades or a century later. This crisis was all an elaborate but calculated arrangement of dominoes, a chain reaction he had purposefully set to trigger the moment he left Terra, resulting in the self-inflicted sociopolitical and literal execution of not only the Static Tendency's believers but of the very ideology itself. I bet Tzeentch's goosebumps' goosebumps' got goosebumps.

I hope Terra was somewhat reinvigorated and restored after this disaster. I’d love to hear of old, tunes rotten Hives being demolished and new oceans and forests being grown (so to speak). The atmosphere cleaned. It would be cool if the authors wrote the lore to reflect Terra’s condition being relective of the state of the Imperium. I will have it stated that all Gulliuman really did, was place the traitor High Lords on chair and give them some rope. They tied the rope to a tree, braded the noose, slipped it over their necks and leaped to the ground all on their own.

Nope.

Going up against Guilliman in matters of legal authority and military might.
That's a bold strategy. Let's see if it works out for them.
This is like spoiling a movie just by saying what genre it is.
he also wrote the Codex Astartes... a large part of which dealt with every possible situation one might face... I'm pretty sure something like this is amongst those possibilities
Even others primarchs would have trouble going total war on Guilliman as he have superior numbers an organization. Sure, one on one Guilliman will lose to half the primarchs but on large scale he's like the Soviet army on steroid

This is why I love this channel above all other loretubers. It's simply not a recounting of events, nor reading from the wiki, it's steeped in the setting and has actual character to it. This is some labored acolyte recounting the tales of this Grim Dark future - they tell it as it should be told, a tragedy continuing to unfold until its seemingly inevitable end. A sadness of what was and what could've been, and a fear of what is yet to come.
Not gunna lie, I go to Leutin for lore usually but this channel is by far the most immersive on youtube. I listen to occulus while I sleep and I have the most insane dreams

I will have it stated that all Gulliuman really did, was place the traitor High Lords on chair and give them some rope. They tied the rope to a tree, braded the noose, slipped it over their necks and leaped to the ground all on their own. Revealing that the High Lords were not just dumber than a Primarch, but probably not smarter than the average Hiver, if not less so. Since even they know, no one truly powerful ever really trusts. Though I will say Gulliuman ever the noble man, did show mercy on traitors. At the height of their imaged power, he gave them a relatively quick if not necessarily painless death. @@randomcenturion7264 Omegon would just have them kill each other and shoulder 0% of the blame, then use them killing each other as an excuse to do more of what he wanted, without letting them realize he was pushing through the changes he wanted.
@@Tom_Cruise_Missile ...Shit. That DOES sound like something the Alpha Twins would do.
One of the sons of our God came back and is asking to lead the Imperium...lets rebel lol-high lords of terra probably
That bedroom metaphor really got me giggling. You're the best, Oculus
When people talk about how or hammer is lacking in parity or satire I point to this.
Hello UA-cam algorithm. I have no words to describe my enjoyment of your work.
@1:05:00
I see Bobby-G sitting back on his throne leaving Tera off to the crusade with a giant ass smirk on his face. Played the old guard of the Throne World like a goddamn fiddle. haha!
He probably had Yvrain in his lap the whole time too
weldonwin Pointy ears, while xenos, at least make good waifus
Guilliman clearly planed this, or got really lucky, or both. Still I didn’t even know this was a thing until now. Thanks Oculus for this video it was a very good listen!
Guilliman is the ultimate politician how did they expect to pull this off?
And had by some miracle he failed, Guiliman was also great GENERAL and fighter himself. Maybe not the best but most balanced of his brothers and .... still a Primarch.
New Oculus Imperia? An hour + long? Fate is kind this day.
Subscribing to this channel was one great choice
Oh how bitter and envious Tzeench must be for getting Magnus as a participation trophy when Guilliman turns his political enemies into pieces in his plans.
"You cant do this! It undermines the very holy structure of the imperium" said the hexarchy
"Lol" said Bobby G. "Lmao"
Sometimes memes are funny
Oh boy!!! Just what i needed for my day!!
After having listened to the applicable books, i have to say this was an Excellent and Superbly crafted summation of the political events contained therein. Thanks for your hard work and dedication.
Absolutely loved this video, every video is better than the last. Keep heckin awesome Oculus
Praise be the Emperor for such great quality content

Roscavler: robert knows your daddy is number 4.
Asterion: understandable have a nice day
The best 40k lore channel. Amazing work. Thank you.
58:10 - @OculusImperia this bit always bothered me, I'm sure you meant to say the minotaurs nearly avoided being obliterated by a handful of custodians
"An open mind is like a fortress with it's gates unbarred and unguarded."
And so the Hexarchy has failed to resist the usurper's coup.
I don't always take a lunch break 45minutes after punching in
But when I do- Oculus is in My recommended feed
Noble Historitor, your continued dedication in penning such records is a statement to the necessity of the logos historica verita, i am honoured to be your acolyte, praise the Lord Regent. This record offers another glimpse at the cunning of the heretic, in all their foulness and heinousness, have we as a species become so blinded by our own ignorance that we would dare to question the avenging son of our beloved saviour? He who will lift us from depths of ruin, He who has allowed us the gift of his protection, my thoughts are filled with dread, dreaded thoughts of disgusting heretics within our blessed imperium that wish to destroy us from within, they will never succeed. They may try, but we walk in the light of he upon the blessed throne, while they cower in the depravity of darkness. May the Lord Regent, and his father, forgive us.
Ave imperator.
