VPD is the end all be all, you just are lucky to fall into the acceptable range for cannabis with your setup. If you want to find the cause of a growing problem, there is no way around VPD.
Leaf surface temp is a lot closer to air temp when your using LEDs. For a beginner monitoring air temp will get you pretty close as long as your lights aren't hot I've found personally.

Vpd demands the leaf surface temperature be monitored.
If you're not doing that,you might as well say fk vpd.
