I'm a 17 year old Transgender Man in Ohio. I will be 14 months on T, a week from today and I am 5 Months post op top surgery. I almost teared up when you said "You have no idea what is better for a transgender kid", because they don't realize that I look & love just like other kids. I have a sister, friends, grandparents, cousins, plus a whole family that isn't biologically related, but rather by love. I work in a nursing home and I have a type of love for those residents similar to the love I feel for my grandparents. I'm just like everyone else. They like to think people like me are less than from the way I look to my dreams in life. I'm rocking a 3.9 GPA, despite the mental health issues I struggled with my first 2 years of highschool. I guess what I'm trying to say is, Thank you for speaking out for people like me ❤

On the litter box topic, the truth is so much more depressing than you’d even imagine: One school proposed using litter in a 5 gallon bucket as essentially a camp bathroom for children hiding from a shooter in a barricaded classroom.
Some classrooms here in Pa have a fucking “shooter bucket” for that. It’s got supplies inside it and it can be emptied and used as a toilet while kids are locked down hiding in their classrooms. 🙃

I highly agree about the staged engagements/proposals. So many people make their relationship’s such a fuckin spectacle online. There’s one girl I see on my feed that documents every single thing their partner bought them, tags them in posts, record them kissing when they’re on a date, shares their conversations… and the list goes on and on 😪 and it’s usually these same people who posts all these high moments and then out of nowhere there’s a breakup and they delete all photos of their partner
And the ones that have a new bf every four months and it's true love and the best man they've ever known and poof gone after a couple months and replaced by a new one🤣🤣

I taught at a high school at one time that didn’t have any real filtering on their internet. So basically anyone could look up whatever they wanted. There was a coach who would put class related web pages up on the projector, and students would regularly notice ads on there for viagra type products. It was funny because they knew why. LOL

Bank teller here, there are many Americans that are unbanked, ironically those people go to the bank all the time because they are forced to deal in cash. They get their pay checks and come to the bank and cash them. Sometimes it is because they are wackos (like the speaker of the house), some times it is because they owe a bank money and are reported and can't open new accounts. But they can also make a mortgage payment in cash, at least at the bank I work for.
Michelle and I should be best friends. When I take my daughter to the play place you can bet I will buy her pop and food. However if she comes over to ask me to go in that thing to play with her I shut that shit down quick. I do to put in two headphones and ignore the whole world.
A little bit of context for viewers: it is very VERY difficult to "count" people who identify as trans in America. The amount of work that needs to go in to send out surveys AND get responses is immense. Not to mention, it is unsafe for majority of people to disclose their gender or even come to sort of acceptance of this part of themselves. Those factors significantly impact our known numbers.
So please, in the future, do not highlight this 1-3% statistic, as it often pins trans people as being an "anomaly" in America. Much gratitude to those who speak with love and support for trans folks, but having this context can only strengthen our arguments. Thanks queens!
What would you estimate is the actual number? I have a 13 year old son who has been brainwashed by the Internet to fear/hate transgendered people and I was using Jen and Pumps same argument to illustrate how ridiculous it is to focus and hate such a small population of people who are just trying to live their lives. I try to be an example of rational thought with love and tolerance.
