Keith Levene helped make this record a post punk classic with his guitar and genius. A great record from Scotland 1981, the most prolific period for new wave and post-punk. Rest in Power Keith Levene. The world has changed its face today and nothing will be the same as before. Sadly it is the end of good music and the beginning of something we will never know. Time has passed, music, people and ideas have left the way. End of an era
I thought Keith was only on one track?
Marvelous debut album from a Baby Band searching by is innocent creative process is owned Sound. A true Sonic dynamic genuine original energizing freshness 🌊🌊 for the Style!
Little known fact, Keith Levine (Public Image Limited) was recording in the next studio, heard the Pos rehearsing this track, ambled in, plugged in his guitar, and gave us those brilliant coruscating chords, then just wandered out again. Class act!
which track?
@@NicholasMarkovich first one
How has this never ever had a reissue?? Criminal
40 years old and I still love it
A gem in my LP collection
Boy did Positive Noise change on this LP. This is definately a non commercial album, and this was before Change Of Heart which I think is an excellent album. But this is definately Punk I don't consider this Post Punk or New Wave either really. Now this first song I like so far is No More Blood and Soil. I don't own this album and never saw it before either. But I do own Change Of Heart and bought the LP in 1982 when it came out.
Got their positive negative album at the vinyl attic in the village back in 1983, did not know about this album….thanks for the upload. Hope to find it soon!
Dude it sounds exactly like positive noise! 🖤🥁🎸🎹
funny that
Released in the UK in May 1981.
just got this album!!!! love it
is it hard to find?
Great!!!! absolutely great....
The lead singer Ross Middleton’s voice gives me Midge Ure vibes.
Such a sick album. The intro intrigued me in a different way than anything I've heard before. To me, this is a quintessential New Wave/post punk record in that it takes all the accessibility of punk but updates the sound and give slightly more progressive song structures to keep the spirit alive.
However, I just have to point out how fucking terrible the snare sound is... they could have easily fixed that...
Love this song..;€
A Dutch radio program (KRO Rocktempel i think it was) played two tracks from this album and i was sold!
No morew blood and soil and warlorlords hooked me.
Then my turntable broke down and never played the album. two days ago i found a good and nice priced turntable so 30 years later....... Like is whas produced yesterday.
very trop bien!!!
I LIKE IT!!! 😄👍❤️❤️❤️🎵🎶

What I would consider beautiful auditory candy ...wish there was more.
right away...I get a Virgin Prunes meets Fad Gadget feel!
Wow there's two bands I haven't heard mentioned for honks, but you're quite right. Whatever happened to Gavin from VP?
Amazing!
Elements of that first track remind me very much of Flowers Of Romance by PIL.
Unfold the curtain - make me uncertain! (And yet again…)
I have a 7" demo single from Positive Noise (Nothing on the B-side). A-side is "Love Like Property". Good to hear some other stuff 1979 or 80, I think it must have been their first single which didn't actually chart.
Actually, the one-sided single came free with initial copies of the album.
hermoso
super album
Hipnótico!!!!
Good!!!
brilliant
Once, though rarely, again....I thank the algorithm.

I got lucky and found it online, it was going to be a gift but that fell through.
Up ya KILTAAA.... YA Jock Boys !! Classic tribal punk grim!.....
Fan of Leisure Process here to see what this sounds like. Darkness Visible was a 1979 novel by William Golding, incidentally.
Interesting . and of course we all know the brilliant little joseph conrad novel Heart of Darkness which inspired Apicalypse Now
good
This is sooo awesome!
Please if anyone knows the lyrics of Darkness Visible let the world know!
Is the third verse Scots or maybe Gaelic?
Hypnosis
I do believe I hear where Lykke Li - I Follow Rivers found her "inspiration". Compare and see what you think.
Good Cambuslang Boys
hmm not sure bout this one, there's a copy of it down here in little ole'paeroa new Zealand for $2, a steal really, kinda sounds like a lot of other stuff from the early eighties, i'm gonna score it, I think it will grow on me with repeated listens
Some of this album sounds like KIlling Joke .At least it reminds me of them a bit.
Sure thing, although I only noticed after reading your comment properly ;) Might be the funky bass and hypnotic drum. Yeah
I only knew the 2nd song, and I had heard the 1st one some distant time ago. I'm blown away by this album. They have got smth in common with the Associates as well (my thought hearing No More Blood And Soil a 2nd time) but generally, although this is much greater
Some tribal rhythm doesn't play like the Joke. PN were part of the post-punk scene but I wouldn't make simplistic juxtapositions. Each band in the 80s had different peculiarities. It was a very rich and varied scene
:)
You should re-release this cuz
Yes
la bonne époque créative au moins
51SPART you are absolutely right. the present epoque is not as creative.
