All you can do is hope others step up to compensate. For Mahomes it's been the def. The question should be, "can the 9ers do that?" It shouldn't be only, or even mainly, on Purdy to do it.
Nick Wright will continue to hate on Purdy, no matter what he does on the field. FACT: Purdy's pass completions have dropped because of two reasons: 1.) The Niner receivers are not getting any separation 2.) Niner receivers a have been off the mark on the routes and have been dropping critical passes.
49ers finished the Chiefs game down 9 starters. Against what Nick calls the best Defense and Special Teams in the league. With the best Coach and QB. And it was a 2 point game entering the 4th quarter. 9ers actually drew first blood too. The idea that Brock is somehow a mid-level QB because he plays competitively, but doesn’t win, against such odds seems pretty unreasonable to me. 49ers would have won the SB too if not for defensive cluster injuries during that game. Especially having to replace Greenlaw with Oren Burks, which opened up Kelsey who was so tilted he was throwing temper tantrums on the sideline until Greenlaw went out

I like how the stats he's posting aren't TD vs INT, but TOTAL TDs vs TOTAL TOs. IE he's counting fumbles. His 2 worst games ever were the Ravens and the Chiefs this week. SEVEN of his 12 INTs in that 12 game run were in just those 2 games...one of which had him without CMC, Deebo, Jennings, AND Aiyuk in the second half (2 INTs were in second half). His #1 WR was in his 1st NFL game. Nick is just ridiculous. The cherry picking is just insane. He's had 3 games in that span where he had a rating over 120, 2 of them this season without several Avengers.

Having one of the best rookie seasons of all time, beating the Cowboys in first first playoffs. Starting out 5-2 with a brand new OC and a team that should be rebuilding. He plays well without 9 Pro Bowlers on his team. Personally i think CJ is tier 2 but you can now take off your Purdy blindfolds.

It's not remotely unique to Purdy, or to "lesser" QBs. All you can do is hope others step up to compensate. For Mahomes it's been the def. The question should be, "can the 9ers do that?" It shouldn't be only, or even mainly, on Purdy to do it.
Nick Wright will continue to hate on Purdy, no matter what he does on the field. All this injuries that the 49ers accumulated could be a bless in disguise, it gives the other young wide receivers a chance too not only play but gain valuable experience in real games this will help them in the foreseeable future.

FACT: Purdy's pass completions have dropped because of two reasons: 1.) The Niner receivers are not getting any separation 2.) Niner receivers a have been off the mark on the routes and have been dropping critical passes.
49ers finished the Chiefs game down 9 starters. Against what Nick calls the best Defense and Special Teams in the league. With the best Coach and QB.
And it was a 2 point game entering the 4th quarter. 9ers actually drew first blood too.
The idea that Brock is somehow a mid-level QB because he plays competitively, but doesn’t win, against such odds seems pretty unreasonable to me.
49ers would have won the SB too if not for defensive cluster injuries during that game. Especially having to replace Greenlaw with Oren Burks, which opened up Kelsey who was so tilted he was throwing temper tantrums on the sideline until Greenlaw went out

His 2 worst games ever were the Ravens and the Chiefs this week. SEVEN of his 12 INTs in that 12 game run were in just those 2 games...one of which had him without CMC, Deebo, Jennings, AND Aiyuk in the second half (2 INTs were in second half). His #1 WR was in his 1st NFL game.

Having one of the best rookie seasons of all time, beating the Cowboys in first first playoffs. Starting out 5-2 with a brand new OC and a team that should be rebuilding. He plays well without 9 Pro Bowlers on his team. Personally i think CJ is tier 2 but you can now take off your Purdy blindfolds.

Purdy definitely had a bad game...like all QBs do, especially when you're down to WR5 and WR6. The problem with the Purdy slander at this point is the argument that when the niners win its only because of Shanahan; when they lose its only because of Purdy. Shanahan can't adapt, isn't creative and was out coached yet again by Andy Reid. 0-5 against KC. Purdy could've played better sure, week before he threw 3 TDs , 18/28 and 255 yards against the Seahawks. Can Purdy save the niners season?
