Get the Mack up and running then sell it.
Market is crap on trucks he'd be lucky to get his cost of repairing it back by selling it
It ain't increasing in value sitting there. Paying 18% interest on a new truck every 1k you can pay down helps.
@@markpeterson6836He’s paying 18%?
When he brought it home he said something about financing. It was in the teens. 😳
Used to be a truck mechanic and we always greased the king pins with the tire off the ground. That way grease gets down in the thrust bearings.
Good grief. Your videos make me so thankful I am retired. Hell no dealing with that crap.
Heck I’m 68 years old with a bad back, had 6 back surgery’s and I can’t even get my 35 year old son come up and help me out round my place. I hurt so, much at times but the work has to be done.
Yep...we're from a different generation. Things sure are going down hill.
I'm in my mid seventies and have had six surgery's also. Have hardware in several areas and I know about the hurting. My oldest girl stops by from time to time and will mow the yard for me. Can't get the boy to do much of anything. He always complains about how bad he hurts. He hasn't had any surgery's on his back, just injections.
@@mayberrygobber5818 Yes they are, and it's only going to get worse.🙁🙁
Me too 70 years old lot of health issues I have to ask my elderly friends for help or pay somebody.
@@jda72 all my friends round me is younger and work a lot never so, I have to do it my self. It is women on both sides of me older man cross the street gets round worse than me. So, I just do it myself.
You may have already found your coolant leak and I think I mentioned it to you in a live stream but you if you are losing coolant, cant find any leaks and it passes the head gasket test I would be thinking EGR cooler leak.
Nice job with the Internal led lights . Much brightness across the trucks spectrum 👍
noramly when you have exhaust gas leaking into the coolant you will have excessive pressurization of cooling system has been my experience. it is just leaking somewhere. probably at higher pressure when you are running under a load
look at your tail pipe for carbon if your EGR cooler leaks the tail pipe will be dirty it should always be clean like the day you installed it
I’m pulling for you…you guys are hard workers and I respect that a bunch!
I concur! Robert doesn’t have ‘quit’ in his vocabulary. He will succeed no matter what.
Could be your Sleeper AC dripping down on your tank
Yeah I bet it is! I didnt even think of that
I hope you guys can get the problem figured out because you really can't afford to have a lot of down time
3:00- Harbor has T-Handle hex keys that's likely do the job there... Just my two cents regarding the coolant test. It's probably best to do that test after the truck's under a load and on the road as that's the time when the engine's the hottest and likely to leak exhaust into the coolant. That's when gaskets expand the most. At idle and under no load the engine runs relatively cool.
Do the test if you can when you stop for fuel or end of day at a truck stop after pulling into a parking spot with a fully loaded trailer. That's the time to check it IMO.
Nice job on the lights
Do u do oil samples they tell u a lot about your engine just a suggestion like your videos
This new generation of kids are something else.
4 Sure, my stepson mowed the lawn and went over it so fast it just looked awful, I had to redo it but he still wanted paid full price!! I am so Happy I don't have to deal with his worthless ass anymore along with his Mommy.
I agree. I am 20 but strive to be like my parents generation. I’ve got my own lawn mowing business with about 45 customers.

Lights look awesome! Didn't look like there was much pressure pushing the liquid in the tester. When I had some cups come loose on one of my 7.3's, it made LOTS of bubbles in the tester and turned the blue liquid green. Are you sure the kit is for diesel? You could let some exhaust from your Ford hit it and see if it turns colors. Then you would know 1000% that the test was good.
Arnold Transportation Services,A Dallas,Texas based trucking O.T.R. company has closed down completely becuse of the way our economy is right now..Wow,and I'm sure they are not the only trucking company who has had to close down..
The Truck industry wants the U-joints to fail so they will make more money selling service and parts
I’ve been watching y’all since you started with the ford. Y’all have accomplished alot. You should be proud and I know you worked hard for everything. That’s a nice rig. Maybe it’s the automatic transmission or the reliability of the truck, but y’all seem happier and less stressed
Hi best you tube trucking channel from Australia
Glad there's no exhaust gas in the coolant. I have a couple ideas of what to look for to help diagnose it, based (oddly) upon a bizarre way coolant gets lost from 2016-2022 Prius sometimes. Not saying your truck is a Prius, but the general principle might apply to something on your truck.
In their infinite wisdom, they routed coolant to a heat exchanger on the catalytic converter, in series with it going to the heater core. On some cars, when the heat exchanger leaks, it leaks externally and you get the usual signs of coolant on the driveway. On other cars, it leaks internally into the cat/exhaust, and no never see a leak. Sometimes water vapor or white smoke out the tailpipe, sometimes not if it all condenses inside the muffler, etc. But eventually, some coolant liquid or vapor makes its way out the tailpipe, or out leaks in exhaust flanges.
What to look for is any exhaust pipe that looks like it's been steam cleaned. In your case, maybe the APU exhaust pipe?
Or in general, just look around for anywhere they might have routed coolant to a heat exchanger. Could be anywhere, even a windshield washer fluid tank. Who know what those damned engineers (I am one) who didn't even give you grease fittings might have designed.
On a Prius, anyone who doesn't get a $1700 cat under warranty, just bypasses the coolant from going to their cat. So, the car warms up a little slower, but at least the cat has no coolant leaking through its expensive guts and keeping it from getting hot enough to burn off pollutants.
Also, if it's leaking onto exhaust insulation, your truck engine/exhaust creates enough heat to probably evaporate it all in the right situation, without it ever dripping to the ground. Like if you put a towel on a leak. Hard to think of where a leak would be onto something absorbent, but maybe exhaust insulation, noise insulation, or something like that.
putting a driver in your Mack not a good idea with the way the market is right now
That plastic ring goes in where the bushings go on the axle.you need new bushings probably on both axles.good luck.not a cheap fix.
At least the Mack didn't get dropped off with all the parts in a basket in the cab. I had someone years ago flatbed a Honda to me with all the engine parts in the trunk. Came to me from north of the boarder. Took me two weeks to get it up and running.
i wish i had a phone camera back in the 70s when i first started tinkering with old cars and motorcycles
Look to see if your fuel tanks have diesel tank heaters? If you have coolant lines going into tank? If so they break and put coolant into your diesel tank. Mine did. Look inside tank is it red? If so there’s your coolant leak. I also have a t680
@8:30 The reason that engine is starting to use more coolant is because of the regeneration system, EGR, it is running hotter, it will toast your harness, fuel consumption will increase over time. Thats why people do the delete of that system in the engine and even delete the DEF fluid. But again, everybody does not go that road.
Great job on the lights. Maybe try running the APU overnight or for several hours to see if the coolant goes down. It's tough to do it on the road as you start the diesel then the APU on the same day and night. I'm sure you already thought of it but wanted to mention it. Mark exactly where the coolant is when you start when its COLD. Run the APU for X hours, let it cool and check the level??
Robert…..It looks like it’s not ventilated . Get a burp funnel for the radiator… it can vent itself. Good luck 👍
Look into road millings, not sure if they are cheaper. But over time it will harden like pavement.
Brother how is somebody a dummy for wanting to run hotshot and banking on themselves..why are you still doing it gotta stop tearing other ppl down to try to make your situation better…preach positive it brings positive and just in case it’s towards that trailer part you was talking about and the market situation but yet you still out running lol make it make sense
When are you going to put a few glass watermelons on the out side and a 18inch drop visor Painted to match the truck.
Could it be that the cap, or the APU, is venting your coolant pressure instead of it keeping it and the coolant is getting vented off.
FYI, your steering shaft is rubbing your fuel line…!
Sure u heard it before but those Cummins are bad to drop sleeves from factory most likely antifreeze
Sell the old truck, way to much money just sitting around,
Check your air lines and your air tanks it mite be leaking into de air compressor the air compressor is cooled by the radiator coolant .
Have the oil analyzed it will tell you a lot hopefully it's ok those engines have a history of dropped liners.
I know those apu’s when I was in company trucks , loved to use coolant
Are you getting a small amount of coolant in your oil change?
Maybe get a tap lube sample analysis
so you have a place to call home?what about all the chickens?and do you have children? who takes care of that
Love the new interior cab lights…….maybe add some for the exterior, watermelon lights??
What is "ceramic coating",is it like a wax you put on?
Hopefully everything will work out for you Robert .
Alot of those plugs are dummy plugs and don't yo to anything
so do you have two primer pumps with the fast filter system with the original system?
Ive got a suggestion....take those ugly wheel covers off.. i know that they may help with fuel mileage but to me they make a truck look ugly. If u have aluminum rims on the back like whats on ur steers, thats what sets a truck off....i drove for a company that had those covers on their trucks and i didnt like 'em.
Fuel mileage is the most important thing in trucking, not looks !
Follow out your coolant lines and see if one of them is seeping coolant
You should have put that tester near your exhaust pipe to see if it changes.
o its maintenance free but i bet not replacement free lol
I like the new lights
You didn't see that when you bought the truck?
Inspect transmission for coolant leak
Is your exhaust gas test kit made for diesels?
That could be a Bengal Cat and it looks pregnant.
Nice Video Robert and Lita Stay Blessed and safe.
Check for a coolant leak in the EGR cooler.
Bro that’s your fault as their parent! Get on their ass so THEY’LL get off it! My old man kicked me out the day I graduated! Unreal you let them get away with that shit! 💯
i left home at 18
Did that help him getting you to help him do work with him? Not saying your not right on the parenting part.
Your dad’s philosophy was to kick out his son at 18? Your dad’s parenting plan sucks! My son was a college Junior at 18 and had an open invitation to come home during school breaks. He also was welcomed home after getting his Masters and landing a great paying job! I wished he would have stayed even longer, because he was saving 90% of his paychecks during those very short 20 months. He found the perfect home, purchased it, and I was sad to see him leave, but I am proud of his hard work ethic! I guess I could have “KICKED” him out to show him how much I loved him. 🤔 Maybe then he’d be writing comments like yours…🏍🇺🇸🎒
Name of lights??
Interior lights look great!
Very nice lighting makes more cozy like a resort 👍
Like #970 checking in for the algo.
Link to the lights you used??
HEY !!!! what ya know I am 1st !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you got a link for those lights?
Comment: Good video.. I know your turbo is not leaking. But your Radiator fill cap needs to be replaced. It is seeping moisture in the air. Pretty common. My opinion.
That might be an air pocket working it's way out, leak at the water pump or thermostat under driving conditions only. Look for a MACK that you can go and take photos of under the hood so you can route and plug that correctly. I'm glad your still trucking and your show is always better. I'm happy for you and Lita, may the Lord bless you both!
What phone case do you use?
Hi Robert and Lita
Luv the new lighting
It's a fleet spec truck, so it won't have grease zerks. Companies only need it to make 400k. Lower maintenance.
😂 Who's the cat?
I have a black cat I acquired a few years ago and he stays outside and I bought him a wood cat house on Amazon he stays in with a heat pad,he like to lay on his back with his feet in the air..cracks me up.
If you leak coolant that means there is air in the cooling system. It doesn't matter if it's a $300 apu radiator or the truck radiator water pump. A leak is a leak. Head gaskets don't fail themselves. Normally they start as a leak. I for sure would replace that apu radiator before it smokes the engine. If there is air in cooling system that allows steam to build. Steam is more pressure which pushes more coolant out. Boom head gaskets goes. Id be willing to bet that apu radiator is cheaper than a engine rebuild.
I find it impossible to believe that the drive line doesn't have grease fittings on the slip yokes and u joints. Did you slide back the expandable dust covers on the shafts. You mean it doesn't have a way to grease the moving parts of the brakes. Good luck on not having one of those slip shafts to dry out from no grease, then ruining your input seals.
The disc is your bushing! You need a re-bush... My trailer is getting the same service right now
whats that costing you?
@@SouthGeorgiahotshot I'm waiting for my estimate from Utility... I'm sure thousands
What about under the bunk? Is there anything for coolant transfer there? Yeah I agree to pressure test it! Maybe rent one from autozone possibly!!!
That FASS system looks like a good one,If I had a truck I would have one.
Could be EGR cooler, it could be a bad coolant reservoir, theres so much coolant running through so many parts on these trucks i had a coolant leak on my air compressor DD15 engine, then i kept losing coolant and replaced reservoir now its all good. Pressure test might be your best option to see if theres a small leak somewhere
Perhaps some research will show you how and where to add grease points. I've seen other folks do it. Have good days!
I'm gonna say concrete hasn't just got expensive, it's always been expensive.
Hopefully, you’ll get those issues solved and get back on the road. 🏍🇺🇸🎒
On our 13 speed eaten trans have a coolant line that leaks often. Passenger side just behind the steer tire under the floor board on top of the frame. There's also a line that runs in front of the front axle looks like a check mark on the bottom of the frame, has a tip at the bottom of the y, coolant will leak sometimes. Also paccar has an updated reservoir for the coolant and also one for your power steering. That wetness on the tank could be the overflow. If that is happening our return lines may have a screen in them at the 90° on the tank they may be clogged, if you have one tank that is always a lot lower when you fuel it will be on that tank. Just remove it. I also noticed on our trucks that if your water separator needs to be replaced it will also do that same thing... Hopefully this might help you check a few things.

Robert, I love the channel and an episode ago or so you mentioned the fass fuel filter how was that working out? Did it increase your fuel mileage?
👍👍👍🇺🇸
If you continue to lose a little coolant, pay close attention to your egr. ISX s have a bad rep for bad egr s. Happy motoring.
I had a Cummins that would squirt out a gallon with in a month what I’d do if you have the overflow hose on it just run it back to the other side of res it has a spot on it to do that so when it squirts it will go back in won’t waste anything anymore or just keep filling it like a idiot.
Put a pressure gage on it.
I found the bolts backing out on the fuel tank heaters. T24.
Do the bubble test on the coolant system.fill a plastic bottle half full of water.put the radiator overflow tube into the bottle and run the truck.if bubbles appear in the water you have a bad head or bad head gasket.
Really like the lights
if the 2 systems are linked apu / engine u already know of the apu leak so run it and see if it leaks or bite the bullet and install a core ! on the apu or get it pressure tested and soldered up where u know the leak was .
I think what you are describing is called a "shackle".
coolant leaking on top of the fuel tank from the sleeper heater?
EGR cooler are common on going and using coolant in Cummins
Its the egr robert, very common very expensive
Harbor freight sells those tests, it works great.
Hope yall have a great weekend
Be safe
Hi did you test the Apu ? do light change to red ?
Don’t forget to blow out your EGR
Air compressor going out?
