Info: Hamelin Bay on the southwest coast is a serene open sandy bay, famous for the abundance of stingrays which frequent the bay. Snorkel around the bay to enjoy a personal interaction with these remarkable sting rays and see them close up in their natural habitat.
Measuring up to two metres across, the friendly stingrays will swim around you. They can also be seen close to the shore feeding off the scraps left by fishermen. For the avid snorkeller there is plenty of interesting plant and fish life within the bay to look at, as well as several shipwrecks and caves to explore.
Beach fishing is popular in the bay, and there is also a boat launching ramp if you want to explore the open ocean or many waterways of Augusta.

Hi Luke. I really love your drone footage of Hamelin Bay, Redgate, and Margare River. My partner just finished an ultra marathon from Hamelin Bay to Wilyabrup (80km) - a huge effort which I am very proud of. I took some video footage along the way but was also hoping to splice in some drone footage to make the final video a more impressive keepsake. Would you PLEASE grant permission for me to use the drone footage if I use it for this purpose. Many kind regards. Mic

I didn't use them tbh . . . Shots looked ok without them so left them in their case!

Great footage & brought back memories of the enormous stingrays here! I always love the shots from drones but find them really intrusive when I'm travelling & someone uses one. How do you balance the 2 when you use one? I'm tempted but just not sure it's for me?
Yes can be very difficult especially at popular attractions. So much easier in larger natural areas.
The mavic zoom is perfect tbh . . . The zoom ability allows you to get good footage (and appear closer to the subject) but be far enough away to remain unnoticed.
If people are around I make sure I stay far enough away so the drone isn't heard, use in short bursts and find the quietest area possible.
With a small amount of common sense and courtesy, you can get great footage and people wouldn't even now a drone is in the area! I would 100% make the investment!!

I have a mavic mini drone and I want to fly it at Hamlin bay am I allowed to fly my drone at Hamlin bay or is there specific rules that hamlin bay have about drone flying
Hi, yes its not always obvious what drone laws are relevant but you must look at the requirements for the national park and any permits needed to be fully compliant.
