  • The MAS Modèle 36 is a military bolt-action rifle. First adopted in 1936 by France and intended to replace the Berthier and Lebel series of service rifles, it saw service long past the World War II period. It was manufactured by Manufacture d'Armes de Saint-Étienne (MAS), one of several government-owned arms factories in France. Because production was initiated late in 1937, not enough MAS-36 rifles were available to arm French infantry when the war broke out in September 1939. Mass production finally caught up after World War II and MAS-36 rifles became widely used in service during the First Indochina War, the Algerian War and the Suez Crisis. Altogether, about 1.1 million MAS-36 rifles had been manufactured when production ceased in 1952.

Exactly; Now please tell me how am I supposed to "keep the rifle loaded with an empty chamber and bolt closed", because I read that it was the correct way of keeping a MAS 36 due to its lack of manual safety, and frankly i just don't understand how can this be feasible.

After loading the magazine from a stripper clip, use one hand to press down on the top round to prevent the bolt from picking it up as you close it. Then, you'll have the full five rounds in the magazine, an empty chamber, and a closed bolt.

bruh stop the hate on France, the surrender jokes are now just plain offensive to those who actually fight bravely, and you might try to get back by saying Uooh bUt THeRe aRe nO BrAve FreNch SoLdier HaHa WhIte FLag Go BRRRrRrRrrr like dude, France had waaay more victories then they had losses and they've also been punished enough in ww2 no need to punish them more with all this humility and white flag jokes, both France and Britain were equally unprepared for ww2 and it's not france's fault for being right next to Germany while Britain had more time to get ready for the war because they were an island nation far from Germany, If Britain took France's place it too would've been easily gobbled up, in real life French soldiers were brave and not the bullshit cowards dropping their rifle and running away stereotype you see in memes and media. Like bro can we just give France a god damn break for once they have been through shit in ww2 and we can't just keep on shitting on them for being shitted on. Oh andthem losing yes of course! Nobody is perfect in life, not even Superpowers like Britain and Germany, and everyone has their fuck ups, even professionals But one fuck up does not instantly make you a sore loser, yes it doesn't matter if you lost or not, what matters is how many times you've won. (Jesus what a rant, I've probably just pissed a bunch of a bunch of people)
