  • This review features Chêne Gear Waders for waterfowl hunting. The waders feature premium 4-layer waterproof technology, are breathable and built to last! A unique shoulder strap design and hand warmer pockets ensure all-day comfort even in the worst conditions. Wingman Scott Reekers breaks down all the features during some off-season dog training. Designed for all season durability, these waders are backed up by Chêne Gear's limited lifetime warranty.

Last year I bought a pair of fly fishing waders because i wanted a pair of breathable waders. they're so much better than most high end hunting waders and offer more features.

Hey Alex, the fishing world has great waders. The waders from Chene gear are built with qualities of those in mind but for waterfowlers.

great review. reminds me of a high end swim suit with those welded seams rather than a piece of clothing. definitely going to pick up a pair now.

How do you feel about wearing dark solid colored waders when duck hunting? Do you feel like the birds can see you more? I thought about these waders and wanted them in solid, but I'm weary of that dark color. They used to have a solid color that was green "olive". I just might wait until they come out with something like that again.

We've worn all kinds of different camo patterns and solid colors over the years and honestly feel that your hide is more important than what you're wearing. In a duck blind you're probably quite well hidden, standing in the open, in flooded timber or a marsh, you'll most likely have a camo jacket over your top half so your exposed lower half is the only thing showing. Chene offers camo models as well if it's a large concern. Either way, great waders with lots of options for the waterfowler.

Having worn both, the biggest upside is the covers over the boots, helps tremendously with the high west areas. If the knee pads are important they don’t have that.

Great review. I’m undecided on the tall size. I’m 6-2-6-3, 290…. I hate dragging in water with extra tall inseams….My question is do you feel that the tall size is for someone your height and beyond or are you maxing out the tall size for your height?

Thanks for watching! Scott is 6'5" and has just enough room in the Tall size, his inseam is 36". What we have found with waders is that the extra length provides us with increased mobility. Depending on your inseam you may want to go with the Tall size.
