The orings are the same ones used in all the plunger tube parts, so I imagine that choice was a lean/cost cutting measure. Use what you have because you have it. I found that the basket was my biggest issue, because I'd spend as much time trying to dump it as I saved using the sweeper. I made an angled and slightly expanded back and it's much better. Especially for picking up small kids toys like hot wheels.
O-ring wheels are definitely a creative solution and yes, a good way to use what you already have. However, for a finished product available for purchase, I believe the solution falls a little short.
My method to grab the darts is a whistle- I whistle to stop the furious battle and get the bunch of kids my daughter is playing with to stop firing and start picking ammo. Works like a charm. Never got tired picking up ammo, myself😀
I really appreciate this thorough and balanced review! The nut gatherer works so well for Rival that I wish for a dart equivalent. Looks like we’re not quite there yet. Thanks!
I'm guessing the print quality issues are due to shellington using larger diameter nozzles on their printers to speed up print time. If that's the case, the print strength shouldn't be affected too much, only the appearance of the parts. For a product that goes on the ground and is gonna get really dirty anyways, I think their choice makes sense.
This is what I struggled with. On the one hand, this isn't a blaster, so the prints don't need to be perfect- function over form. On the other hand, as mentioned, this appears to be the same print quality I received on my spring thunder order in 2020.
My reacher/grabber costs $10 a walmart... it isn't super fast but it really saves my back and combined with a sandcastle bucket, it picks up hundreds of darts.
Harrison donated one to UNO and I use it a lot during indoor events on a turf field. I think the storage piece could be a lot larger as well as needing a magnetic latch or something because its not easy to empty out. When using it on turf, it picks up a ton of turf. Useful but it does feel like some corners were cut.
Sweepers would be really useful especially for nerf battles, like HVZ and others where time to pick up ammo is limited, so having a sweeper would be pretty nice ^^
aside from the quality issues, i think it needs to be bigger. like, double the width to get more darts in less time. more space to make it easier to pick up anything bigger than mega darts. and at last, more space in the basket.
Print quality isn't looking too bad. I'm just surprised that you got it in just a couple of weeks I ordered a hardware kit nearly a month ago, and it hasn't even been shipped yet. Cherry picking? Anyway, great video.
Yeah lol i hate the karens who are like "oh, you lazy ass why not pick up all your darts by hand?" I respond by dumping ragefire clips, at ten darts per second, 100fps. The reason I cant pick the darts up by hand.
The test proves that training your dog is the best way to do it (or monkeys if they can be legally own as pets) And seriously, this would be much better made with vacuum molding and sourcing wheels from hardware store
There is a deeper discussion here about modern day 3d printed products. Because yes the conversation is very different depending on whether or not you have a printer and/or files are available.
119 dollars for 3D printed material and a handle that isn’t telescoping is ridiculous. the print quality is atrocious and the build quality is pathetic. Shellington is a fucking joke with this even if it was injection modeled, it would still incredibly overpriced. I’m very disappointed in the price gouging going on here
Your dog coming back before the final mixed dart test to give you the dart he took in the first test was just an adorable touch.

@@beretnarf I agree, I just have an explanation of sorts. I thought it was clever, but ultimately doesn't quite cut it.
Really appreciate the detailed review

13:15 still carrying the dart is just the most adorable thing

Cheap, reliable, plentiful- it's a simple solution that someone will always be glad to use.

I was curious if that would happen for turf, guess it's a small price to pay? Hopefully it's easy to clear out the excess.
Doggo helped more than the dart sweeper. One sweeps darts into it's sack and the other sweeps darts into it mouth
The bristles are such a simple but smart improvemnt, wow
Thanks for the review and bringing it to my events! I feel spoiled when its there being used because it does help A LOT with the clean up.
If you're using halfling dots or rival as a justice use a vacuum cleaner
Does it come with picatinny?
Hi Luca! Can you do a review on the MP5 Shellington labs made?
Luca is unable to make reviews
@@beretnarfYou should let him, you never know his true hobbie!
The thing I would do is expand the hopper in the back with a net or something.
Ok it does hands, but does it do feet?
And how quickly,
What is the FPS?
Wonder if we can just modify the Nerf Dart Rover with a new roller to improve its performance.

Finally, someone pointing out Shellingtons horrible quality, they sent me my 600 dollar custom wingchester and the grip was broken on arrival
Sorry to hear that. I hope you were able to get a replacement.
@@beretnarf had to get it replaced by someone else, because they printed the grip with the layer like, instead of against it
your dog seems to really like zombie strike elite darts
You should have made a dart angel while laying in the mess. 😂

Is there any nerf Cowbar?
Please bring this to MFT, us the refs would love you (more)!
I don't know if it would survive the journey
doggo dart thief 😂

It’s neat, but probably not worth the price IMO. I’ll stick to my hands/grabber.

can you give it the ultimate test Dum Dum Dummmm the great outdoors Mah ha ha

For the price, that sweeper needs to be injection molded. 3d printing at all is unacceptable for anything above $20
That is quite the hot take for this hobby
@@beretnarf fair enough - but at least open source the bare minimum stls
