I had a real crappy day yesterday, first time in a very long time. I was down in the dumps and really lost a lot of motivation to bring some content to you guys and I am sorry for that but with these next few videos I hope to get back in the swing of things with DS/DST guides and begin playing games that I want to play myself to not only diversify my content but also give me a slight break from JUST Don't Starve.
The content will be there but don't expect me to get right back into having a Don't Starve video every day or so. Take care folks! Well wishes to all!

Also, they do attack clockworks, creating a world with lots of catcoons and more clockworks is a battlefield

I remember joining a server with catcoons everywhere, and they were slaughtering all of the butterflies in sight.

One time, I set up my base in the birch but forest and one of the local catcoons were getting close to my grass gecko farm and I didn’t think much of it until I came back from the caves to find a bunch of grass and leafy meat inside the pen.

While it is luck based normally, there is a mod that makes the whip’s snap guaranteed but reduced to a single tile (it’s called cat items buff buff I think) and it can stun lock Mobs like spiders hounds and depth worms because it plays their hurt animation and de-aggros them for long enough to be completely broken despite its low damage. So with enough luck most enemies become jokes.
Quite fun but quite broken.
(The mod also makes the hat a better beefalo hat)
I hope klei buffs the bad/unused items like modders do
Here , is want to add that catcoons can also cough a kanari bird , i won't say that it's easy to farm kanari's that way but if you do happen to get one it sure saves you the scarecrow materials and the time to find oasis desert

Catcoons are life.
If you trap a catcoon with brick walls and place seeds near the wall a bird will come for the seeds and the catcoon will kill it (unless it's sleeping)

You can take any size break you need, this content is awesome, I’m really interested in how the lights out mode is really working, just a suggestion but why not tackle this challenge? Again, you can take off stress for how long you need, just keep up the great content!
Your videos are soooo addicting to watch. I know you cover a lot of DST but would you ever cover the DLCS like shipwrecked and hamlet because there’s so much content in those that’s hard to understand?

Hi there I’m a long time fan and I have been here for almost eternity but I haven’t seen a guide for base locations or something like that.....

Base locations honestly vary on the type of person and play style
Here are some suggestions from someone who has picked up the game about a month ago and played it to hell.
Nearby Pig King:
Easy gold from offerings
Pigs to do your bidding
Full moons can be scary early game.
Nearby beefalo:
Easy source of manure.
Easy source of wool for winter and various other uses.
Must get beefalo hat and wear during early game winter and spring. Or not to near them at all.
Middle of map:
Easy access to all worldgen resources.
Less travel time between destinations.
World gen isn't always so kind.
But whatever you do don't build your base in the meteor fields or your base will be destroyed.
