Scrappy getting ripped WOULD sound absurd...
But we’ve already seen it before, so it doesn’t seem so wierd.
Oh ya the movies we don't talk about
Well to be fair, he mentioned the movie first, which opened the door for my comment.
Almost certain that was a reference
Scrappy wanting to destroy the gang isn't that outlandish anymore, I think it's my favourite use of the character.
@@matti.8465 Imagine if mystery inc. did that Scrappy's vengeance kind of thing. We know he exist in that universe too.
It should have been called "Scooby Doomsday".
Scooby dooby doomsday!
Like why do this idea at all if they weren't going to use this title?
This is awesome, if I ever become a famous filmmaker and make an R-rated Scooby doo movie I may steal this
@@SeanSmith-lv7wl That's cool man, buy me dinner and you can have it for free.
Thank you! I have said this verbatim!
They missed a huge opportunity to call this series Scooby-DOOM!
Scooby Doomsday.
Or at least Scooby a-pup-calypse
Scooby Doomslayer.
(BFG Division begins to play)
Your pfp fits perfectly. 🤣
Shaggy looks like the original Green Arrow with that facial hair
I knew I wasn't the only one who thought that.
Shaggy looks hot, too bad he's a Vegan in this.
@@fenrisvermundr2516 Shaggys been a vegan for a long time really. Blame his og voice actor.
So... just Green Arrow.
@@GhostGhosterson In Mystery Inc he's not a vegetarian, but yeah in most of the media he is vegetarian.
Now all we need is the Justice League checking out spooky houses as teenagers
I guess the closest to that is the Justice League Unlimited episode where Klarion the Witch Boy vanishes all the adults then turns the League into children and they have to venture through this spooky demonic adultless world.
Batman is Velma
@@luizhenriquealves9755 My batglasses! I can't see without my batglasses!
There's one Justice League Action episode where Batman, Zatanna and Constantine were turn into kids who think they are trick or treating at a haunted house. It was done by Klarion, I think.
Wait, shaggy is a vegetarian? Can anyone explain all the times he's literally eating racks of ribs before? Or burgers? Or pizza? Or salami? Or mayonaise? Or like, anything? There was literally a scene in the original cartoons where shaggy made a ham and cheese sandwich appear out of thin air (which we can only explain as the first manifestations of his unfathomable powers.)
Veggie ribs lol
Also beyond meat burgers
@@X111ESILENTX111 beyond the universe limits.
Munchies are one hell of a thing, man.
In the first season of Scooby Doo, Shaggy was an omnivore, after a while, the Voice Actor became a Vegetarian, and the seasons afterwards Shaggy was a Vegetarian until Mr. Kasey's death. Since then they have plaid with Shaggy being a vegetarian off and on as time went by and they had to get other actors to voice the character.
Shaggy in this looks like Oliver Queen.

Who would win in a fight: Ultra Instinct Shaggy or Virus Fred?
Don't compare mere mortals to UI Shaggy
UI shaggy is still within 1% of shaggys power. How would this even be a fight?
Like, no contest, man.
Ah, but you all seem to forget that it has been confirmed through an interview with Mr. Barbara that Virus Fred has had access to Ultra Instinct long enough to master it. Not to mention when Scrappy Doo returned and used the potara earrings to fuse with Jiren, they still couldn’t even land a single hit on Fred. I think the scales are still in Shaggy’s favor, but I’ve been wrong before.
dead meme
“There is one character who always steals the show whenever he’s around… Scrappy Doo!”
… WHAT KIND OF HORRIBLE BACKWARDS WORLD IS THIS?!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol I can just feel the odd sense of it the fact that he can turn into a jacked dog man just is weird. Well at first until I remembered that he has done it before in the live action Scooby Doo movie 😂
One where James Gunn successfully assassinated Scrappy Doo.
DC comics has got Scooby Doo now . And so like everything else they turned it dark.

Awesome video...
Really... I absolutely love it.
And I will buy these comics only. Cause you told us about them
I love you no homo
WTF are you wearing bro?
"Fred's obsession with traps"
Excuse me, what?
I think of it like:
"...Wait...What type of Traps???"
Just watch Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated. It's fantastic and the best incarnation of Scooby Doo ever.
@@magicalgirllaurie Woosh
@@mattwo7 it's an innuendo, if you think hard enough.
@@sharif47 Oh sorry, I missed the part where you got the joke, must've msiread.
The Nanite King's design makes me think of the Phantom Virus from Cyber Chase.
I'm almost certain that was a huge inspiration for it's design.
Wait, Shaggy was supposed to be a vegetarian?
Pretty sure even as far back as Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? he was eating baloney.
That bologna was explicitly vegetarian.
Before What's New Scooby Doo he could eat anything
@@guacamolenightmaretv7720 And he was explicitly horrified by vegetarian cuisine in Mystery Incorporated, which came afterwards.
Weirdly, in one of the very first episodes we learn the Scooby doesn't like clams, but then eating clams is a recurring theme in Mystery Inc.
@@ComicDrake Shaggy was not vegan until 2002.
Yeah. Casey Kasem demanded that Shaggy be made vegetarian either after or sometime during Where Are You since Kasem himself was a vegetarian
No one ever seems to think about “Be Cool Scooby Doo” which is the most absurd iteration of the franchise
Is that this puppet one i keep hearing about?
Blue Magma and The Model Railwayman
it’s the weird family guy lookin one
shhhhh we don't talk about that one
Or Shaggy and Scooby-Doo: Get a Clue.
so absurd that it is not to be mentioned EVER!
Great, now I can't see Shaggy without thinking of him and a bunch of augmented dogs reincarnating the raptor scene from Jurassic World.
I feel like there should be an epilogue where Daphne and Scrappy likes killing way too much, and now they're no longer in a world where they could kill monsters anytime, they become serial killers and needs to be brought to justice
From my understanding of the video, apparently there are still monsters left that were immune to the cure, so... I'd settle for a Daphne and Scrappy series where they form a new Mystery Inc that goes around killing the remaining monsters.
Die Hero or live long to become vilain
So.. Shaggy Rogers has a son named Fred?
Fred Rogers?
Should I or should I not...

I'd like it too but I think it's way to mature. Scooby Doo is still supposed to be a kids show
@@tannerparks6030 mystery inc had scooby run a canine version of a terminator through with a forklift a major character shot to death by nazi robots and world eating lovecraftian horror driving people mad and telapathicly comanding a death cult. Adult Swim needs to eat their shit together and adapt this ASAP.
@@lucasluna1699 Genndy Tartakovsky could do it since hes pretty competent on making something adult in theme. Though seeing the Scooby gang in his style would be odd.

but, did Fred like traps, if he didn’t it’s a no go.
It's been a while since I've read it, but I don't think he did. He's pretty worthless in the book, imo. Like, the writers didn't know what to do with Fred at points. He spent a majority of the first half either knocked out or with a broken leg.

okay, at 13:09, I definitely recommend both "Afterlife With Archie" and even more so "Locke and Key", if you can handle gore and blood, check em both out.
I've never heard of Locke and key but I know afterlife with archie is pretty cool
@@mikemarks6136 locke and key is really good. It's about 3 siblings moving into their summer home after the death of their father. I really LOVED how "bonkers" Scooby-Doo Apocalypse was.
I loved the premise. The problem i had with the series is it just dragged on way too long. if you edit out more than half of the series you'll end up with one really great 12 issue mini series without missing anything.
With shaggy as the dog trainer its like he is Christ pratt
Holy shit, the only series I've ever seen that made scrappy an actually cool character.
I had to rewind and rewatch when he flashed that magazine with a girl on the cover while talking about Fred's weird obsession with traps... I think I've been watching too many anime youtubers

The ending was rushed because of its cancellation.

I can’t believe this video had someone list daphne having a seafood allergy as a character trait that makes her a more interesting character

How to survive Scooby Doo Apocalypse
1. Leave area.
2. Get lots of food and drinks.

8. Make sure that everyone is working together to survive.
I love it when you and Billiam collab. Great video.
Is Scrappy becoming a buff dog-man a reference to the live-action movie? Or is that something thats happened somewhere else as well?
might be simply a reference to how scrappy just REALLY wanted to fight the monsters each episode
I laughed out loud when i heard “freds weird obsession with traps”
Love it when you've been watching both channels for years then out of nowhere they come together!

I have the first two volumes. I loved it. I'm a life long Scooby fan, and I think this comic is pretty great. And now that I know the ending, I think it works. It fits right in with all the other Scooby shows.
I appreciate the detail of you talking about this with a Shaggy's cosplay
I am almost certain that the Nanite King was supposed to be Velma's 4th brother. The general brother died, we saw what happened to the CEO brother Rufus, and they were saved by the CIA brother near the end. The only one we don't know about is the scientist brother, who changed Velma's design. But then they got canceled and needed to end the story in like, 2 issues. C'est la vie.

I really feel like the writers wrote themselves into a corner and didn't really know what to do at the end
Thanks for the review. I remember seeing these on the shelf, drawn to the awesome cover art, and always passing on it. I'll have to peep the trades.
Wow, you really put me in a bind here...on one hand I'm really interested in reading these comics but then on the other hand you've completely repelled me. I love Scooby stuff. I especially loved those late 90's animated movies where the creatures were real. Soooo...what to do? Maybe if I can get 'em for free I'll check them out?!

So this is the adult Scooby doo content I've been thirsting for?? Yes please
Great video. Please do one of these for the old star wars comics.
I remember reading this! It was interesting to say the least but I was surprised by the concept and I thought it was pretty cool.
I loved this comic run. It was so out there. Like you I didn't always vibe with the tonal shift, but I love the fact that they took some serious risks. It's the biggest departure from the source material out of every incarnation, and while it doesn't always land I respect it for trying. I can't say the same for 3d animated Scooby or puppet hand Daphne, which add new gimmicks, but feels entirely soulless. I didn't realize there were so many different comic versions of other shows. I thought it was just Scooby, because I found it randomly like 2/3 of the way through the run. I liked this enough that I want to check out the others too.
I did not expect to see Billiam in this video. Unexpected but awesome. Yes I should have read the full title but still.
You want a good horror comic? Immortal Hulk. Legitimately amazing body horror with a dash of eldritch existential nightmares, it’s sort of incredible.
Comic Drake and Billiam in the same video. Woohoo! Awesome!

"Fred's weird obsession with traps"
Me: *very poor choice of words*
I binged mystery Inc when I was younger and it could spook the hell out of me sometimes but I still watched it like everyday
Fred: "I love traps" Has not aged well
I would love to see a full live action film or series on this 😂
I absolutely adored Exit Stage Left: The Snagglepuss Chronicles. I hope you'll cover that, especially since you liked Mark Russell's previous work on The Flintstones.
I didn’t like the ending but I did like Shaggy running down the hall yelling “I’m gonna be a daddy!”
Wait, Daphne was an “action girl?” Was that sarcasm? I remember Daphne being a bit hapless and quite clumsy as in, “Danger-prone Daphne does it again!” Regardless, I must say I DO like the whole postapoc Scooby thing as you have shown it here. 😁
They changed that decades ago. She was already more handy in 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo.
I want warners to make a straight to DVD animater series of these comics.
7:56 i never thought id see scrapy get that close to jojo poseing
Really similar to that one Kars pose + same muscle mass
WHAMMU!
This comic is what happens when Shaggy accidentally uses 1% of his true power
*you have entered the dead meme zone*
memes don die, only children realize that a fad was stoopid
No shaggy used a lot less than 1 percent of his power
I got a lot of Generator Rex parallels, nanites, monster, the one how can control the nanites, and one of the villains just being made of nanites. Am I the only one that sees this or did scooby doo rip off Generator Rex?
This comic is basically a Walking Dead ripoff. The monsters being created by nanites does not actually come into play until about issue 24 or so.
If anyone heard of The TBS Cancelled show of "Close Enough", which uses voice actors and the artstyle of Regular show (if you watched it, I hope) then maybe a comic run could be awesome.
Update: formerly cancelled but renewed. ( yes im aware this is an old comment, it's for those who stumbled upon it)
@@Random_Guy_20xx welp. From what I watched, it should've stayed cancelled.
@@clutchcake7717 wow. I didn't know youtube still notifies people on comments this old. Also i haven't watched it yet, so i can't really make a call on it. I want to see for myself. Im sure you have your reasons though.
Okay I gotta read this now! This seems like it changes a lot of things about Scooby-Doo but still gets core things about it right and makes fun of it in a loving way, unlike some other more recent attempts that just seem to hate the source material.
I loved this series because it was fresh but also very true to the characters. And especially in the last year, it became one of the best comics every month with a creative team who are all legit legends: Giffen-DeMatteis-Oliffe-Palmer. And it really does read like a classic-style comic, with solid, old-school storytelling, the kind we usually don't see as often in these modern days of hipster characters wasting half an issue sitting and talking. These older guys remember that comics are a visual medium.
You forgot about Cliffy, the best boy of the book
I actually loved this series sure it was weird but it was enjoyable.
This comic is actually really creative and cool I like how they did this
This was a great read for sure and it's top 3 Scooby-Doo mediums for me
- Zombie Island movie
- Mystery Incorporated animated series
- Scooby Apocolypse comic
I agree scooby apocalypse as a story is really weird and confusing and to be perfectly honest isn’t really fun but super dark.
Still an enjoyable series nonetheless. The tone felt similar to the Evil Dead series in general.
Sharil Shahed Ivan understand that
Scooby Apocalypse may be an interesting concept for a more sci-fi horror style elseworlds story, but I much prefer my favorite meddling kids unmasking the monsters. As much as I like series that involve characters fighting monsters and demons, I think I'm just a hardline traditionalist when it comes to Scooby Doo.
I feel like they should have kept them in their already established niches so hey don''t end up with redundancies. Velma is the encyclopedic brains with scientific knowledge of how to defeat threats, daphne is the martial arts motorcycle totally-spies type escape artist, fred is the brawn and mcguyver of traps, and scoob and shag are the limber stealth ninjas whose accidents end up saving the day
Happy Halloween everyone
I couldn’t stop watching your hand motions
It was interesting, I really liked it actually 😁
Hey batman meets the turtles was surprisingly good.
the whole nanite king seemed to me like they intended to have a longer run, but they were told to wrap it up. after fred was resurrected, it seemed rushed, and the nanite king was just a fast way to wrap up all the lose ends and close out the story.
I loved it at the time, I wished it would continue
I was thinking Billiam would be great as part of this review
but Drake what about the Hex Girls? did they make a appearance and Put A Spell On You?
Scrappy just casually had the ability to turn in to a pillar man
I've only watched this video and I feel like I know everything.
Watching a UA-cam video of a comic is definitely not a substitution for reading it. You don't know everything.
@@ComicDrake I know, at the end of the video you said that just watching the video wasn't enough to know everything or fully understand it. I was just trying to make a joke, sorry I usually try to make it more clear.
