The reason why Lizzie was such a relatable character is because there wasn't anything special about her she wasn't a secret pop star like Miley Stuart or a wizard like Alex Russo she was just a normal girl dealing with everything that life threw at her such as school, friends and family

Yeah it is sad. Lizzie McGuire really does hold up very well. It's a well written show and miles ahead of what the network does now. Although I am impressed with Andi Mack, which is actually by the creator of Lizzie McGuire

Hilary Duff has grown up so much! Can you believe she has a 6 year old son and a daughter on the way! I loved Lizzie McGuire when I was younger! It’s definitely one of those shows that I would love to show my future daughters someday! But Hilary is right, the bra episode was classic!
My entire bedroom was Lizzie McGuire inspired. I was OBSESSED. I had Lizzie McGuire bed sheets that were like 4 different very bright colors and I painted each wall in my bedroom the same colors. I also had a HUGE poster of Lizzie hanging above my bed. It was a great time 😂

😆 Nice! I didn’t have Disney channel, so I’d only seen bits & pieces of her show & saw the movie at some point-& the song still catches in my head even now! 😄 So I didn’t even think about it when I moved to Italy. A guy friend there invited me to go with him to Rome for a day, and it was awesome! We walked to different locations because they’re really not far apart (also because there was a transport strike that day). But I did often get to ride a Vespa with nice guys! (It’s funny, people keep telling me it’s every girl’s dream. I never fantasized about that yet got to do it many times.) 🙂
@@sunnylilacs Aww that's awesome. I was on a school trip so there was definitely no vespa riding, though I was more upset when they cancelled our gondola rides :( But that sounds so cool and you're right - the song is a bop!

Great Role model! not huge in the party scene. never got into drugs. stayed focus on her career, family and her life.
On top of that, her ex-husband did her (and their baby) pretty darn dirty but she didn't let that stop her from living her life and staying true to herself and to keep on keeping on for herself and her baby. She's such a strong, beautiful woman who has always been a strong and beautiful role model for girls (myself included) and it's so good to have someone in the entertainment world like her to look up to.

That's because her parents did their jobs. They made sure that Hillary stayed grounded the same thing with her sister Haley. Unlike a lot of actors or actresses their parents use them for their money take them to parties because otherwise they wouldn't be able to get in and then they get hooked on drugs and then their kids get hooked on drugs. Which is what happened with Drew Barrymore and her mother. I don't know if you've ever seen the documentary about her life but her mom literally took her to parties just so that she personally could get high and even got her daughter to take drugs with her so that she wasn't taking drugs alone. And Drew was just a kid I think like maybe 12. But it just depends on who their support system is and how supportive that they are and how strong that they are. But like I said there are so many actors and actresses that grew up in the spotlight even as far back as the twenties that committed suicide when they grew up.
Hilary Duff was a massive part of my childhood. I remember discovering Lizzie McGuire when I was very young and slowly liking her and then the like turned into a full blown obsession lol my mom would get mad because every magazine that had Hilary on it, she'd buy for me and I'd just shred it and cut all the pictures out to put on my walls and door. I had the room decor and clothes from Target, backpacks, lunchboxes, Barbie dolls, every CD she came out with and every movie she was in I had to own and see 100 times, Hilary was even my first concert when I was 10! It's so weird being all grown up now and watching Hilary talk about her experiences on Lizzie McGuire and realizing how long it's been..

I had EVERYTHING Lizzie McGuire and I even remember taping episodes on vhs tapes! And the fact that the Lizzie McGuire movie and her debut album were 15 years ago, THATS proof that we're getting old!

It was about a guy (played by Aj Trauth from Even Stevens) who was embarrassed by his little brother, Stevie,(played by Spencer Breslin) so he got a coin from someone from the mall and made a wish that he wasn’t his brother! Oh yeah and LaLaine plays his friend Abby by the way! And she got to sing the movie’s theme song at the end too!

It was probably embarrassing for me that I was such a fan of hers when I was in high school. All of my classmates already outgrew her and I was carrying her CDs around campus in my book bag. She’s only a couple of months older than I am, so that’s probably a huge reason why I connected with her (acting roles, but especially her music). I even got a chance to see a concert show during the Most Wanted tour. Now that we’re both 30, it IS weird to look back and think, “Wow, that was really 15 years ago?” I did find myself reminiscing this summer, listening to my favorite tracks from “Metamorphosis” and her self-titled album, and rewatching episodes of “Lizzie McGuire”. Dorky, I know, for an adult woman to be watching these decade-and-half old tween shows in her spare time, but there’s something oddly fascinating looking back and reflecting on, reliving some good times in what was otherwise an awkward adolescence.
Actually, I like to go back sometimes and listen to that pop bands I used to and they make me happy.
I'm a grown 35 year old man And I still watch and love Lizzie McGuire! Her music is still great. I'm not embarrassed to still do this haha.
I felt the same. I was 15 when Lizzie Mcguire first came on television in 2001. That's whenever we first got the Disney channel on basic channels. Lol. I used to have a secret crush on Duff when I was in high school that I wouldn't tell my friends or even my girlfriend at the time. Plus, my girlfriend at the time was only less a week younger than Duff, so that's probably why. Every now and then, I stumbled some old episodes. It really brought my inner child self when I watched them because it's like looking at my old childhood photo albums or videos. Sometimes, it brought joy, sadness, and tears while looking at them all over again.
I'd still take a second Lizzie McGuire movie.
Yup The Lizzie McGuire movie is still one my favorite childhood movies. I really hope they do a reboot of the show or at least Disney channel movie.

Hilary Duff has been my inspiration since I was little. I remember watching Lizzie McGuire growing up, and seeing the movie in theaters. Every young teenage girl should watch Lizzie McGuire, even though it’s not on Disney anymore you can always pull up the episodes on UA-cam. I am currently older now and I still watch it lol! She’ll never get old.
It truly was a great show. Real issues, and great actors. Sadly this generation dont have shows like this. Disney was ahead of their time - and now it seems backwards in some ways

I was absolutely obsessed with Lizzie McGuire and the movie. I saw the movie twice in theaters, owned it on VHS, owned the soundtrack on CD (and listened to it religiously for an entire summer), had posters of her in my room, and would skip my family dinner to make sure I didn't miss an episode hahaha. Those were great times.

I’m a 2002 baby so it’s safe to say that I wasn’t suppose to grow up with Lizzie McGuire. Instead I grew up with Hannah Montana, Zack & Cody, Waverly Place, Camp Rock etc which was great but around the time when I turned 11 I found out about Lizzie McGuire and I just got hooked lol it was ordinary and it actually taught me life lessons! Totally loved the show
