We had that same VCR. Takes me back to renting The Mask and Speed. Something broke and it wouldn't accept a tape anymore.

I made the same mistake while working on my JVC HR-3330 piano key top loader years ago when I tried to remove the screw that secured the pinch roller. The arm was so bent that the tape was riding up and getting chewed up. It took me months to figure that out lol. 😂

Great video. Funny I have the same VCR that I never got around to tossing it out, had it since the 90s
I’m wondering how you are picking up all these analogue NTSC stations

Rare but not valuable. That's how I describe my collection of Icelandic 80s LPs.

I have no idea where to get new ones, sorry. The one I used on this VCR was salvaged from a mid 80's JVC and I got lucky with fitting.

I saw a video of a panasonic NV-777 I believe, and it had exactly the same fault that you showed on that other VCR, all functions worked well but when you hit fast forward scan and release it would unmute the audio a keep going exactly like yours, a comment on that video said he had the same issue and after swapping the capstan controller IC it fixed it.

I have a Panasonic NV-333 and it has the same fault. It's a little bit annoying but not such a big problem
