Yes and no. You make it sound like she has,something special that makes it easier. It is never easy, even with the Holy Spirit. I live with severe, chronic pain and you have to fightt, like Joni said. Its HARD WORK walking into it, breathing through it, not resisting it but looking and listening for Jesus in it.
I have suffered from chronic pain only since January this year. I have ME/CFS and suddenly I got these new symptoms: Pain in one buttock, pain in the hiips, but only when I lie on them. My illness means ‘pacing’ += 30min lying on my back, hips are trouble at night. What you say is so true and tears began flowing! Everiging is organically ok with bum and hips, it’s the ME giving false signals, so pain meds don’t help much. At least I am ok when I kneel or stand. I often think and pray for you who have suffered far much longer than me and you are my top example and cannot wait to hug you in heaven. Looking at this world gone crazy, it could be very soon!! Love you so much, from New Zealand (and you are just a few months older than me ).
Yes, Joni, what wonderful words of wisdom and encouragement when in the midst of pain. While in the hospital, and ever since then, while in the midst of pain, I started saying praises to God...just that. And the relief was there in no time. I think from a practical standpoint, my breathing was probably more relaxed and then muscles, and then of course the rest of my body. And I'd also "ride" that pain like a wave. Blessings to you! ❤

Joni, I am so very sorry to hear that You have pain. I was with the understanding that your injury, so many long years ago- that you are unable to move your limbs, And that you do not have "sensation" below your chin. This analogy that you have given will help me, as I have started having pain in feet, and legs. I will use this plan you speak of. I have up till now, just used art making, or painting to decrease my pain levels. You are such a wonderful witness for Jesus. Thank you for sharing Joni.
NEEDED! I have some crushing chest pain from anxiety. I do get angry and fearful at the pain there or in my back. I will try what you said, Joni. If you can do it will all your suffering, I can do it w the smaller suffering. Blessings!

I fist heard of you when I became a Christian in 1972 and have followed and prayed for you over the years. I am 73 and have had pain basically since I was 2. I managed pain with alcohol for 26 yrs, got delivered from that then a few years ago went on Rx meds. Thanks again for sharing this beautiful insight!

I pray for you, Joni. My dad was abusive so I had to learn to run to Jesus, instead of away from Him. It has been a lifelong struggle to trust God as a compassionate, merciful, healing Father and not attribute my earthly father's attributes to a Holy, good, and loving God. I am drinking in what you have said. Jesus meets us right where we are at now.

Thought provoking! I hear you saying Jesus sustains you in the pain. Have never considered "suffering WELL"... inviting Jesus to help you bear the pain with a godly attitude of trust that He is able. I think you're describing "abiding" in Him. I'm encouraged to hear you say that He keeps the pain from crushing your spirit. Thank you for sharing solutions for harsh realities.
I have been in chronic pain for 11 yrs severe enough to warrant prescription narcotics. As Joni does, I have also been instructed by medical specialists to embrace the pain instead of fighting it. Those times when the pain partially overrides my medication, my first step into the pain is a lulu, and again as Joni said, the pain wraps around me. There is a strange ability to deal with it a bit better, but to invite my LORD JESUS, my CREATOR into my pain with me has, I'm ashamed to say, never crossed my mind. Now I will see the PRINCE OF PEACE holding my hands, looking into my eyes with the most perfect love. :) Since discovering Joni's videos awhile back, I'm learning a strange, new hope & joy to meet each day. I just wanted to share my similar experience and encourage others who are in a similar situation. This is the recipe for life-giving hope in our Savior Jesus!
EBRACE THE CROSS OF JESUS. Let your body be still and let the pain come up....knowing that God will help you in the here and now and prepare you someday for His Eternal Rest. As C.S. Lewis said, To make a Good Exit. Until then we stay at our Post at the foot of the cross in stillness.
Can you get cbd oil where you live ? I'm in the UK and I've been using it for 3 years now . It doesn't take pain right away but it helps a great deal . I hope you can get it . Love to you and Ken , Kay
