Lionel EP-5

Hi all!
I was incredibly lucky to find both this EP-5 and these MTH passenger cars! While they’re made in different eras, these are a perfect match for each other!
The Lionel #2350 is an iconic locomotive manufactured between 1956-1958, and this example is wearing a fully restored shell. The model has pantographs which are capable of bringing converted for overhead power operation, a Pullmor motor, Magnetraction and a reversing e-unit.
The MTH 60’ streamlined New Haven passenger set, 30-67198, is something I found by chance. I met a volunteer at the Danbury Railway Museum, and while we were discussing the gorgeous O Scale model railroad he mentioned he had this set of cars. And when he told me he’d be willing to sell them I jumped!
I had a lot of fun making this. I may have gone a little nuts with the 1950’s style horn, but it really is a cool piece of history that I’m lucky to experience.
