She was nothing but pure raw talent back in her prime. Vocals that would put 90% of today's singers to shame. No electronic tuning or any other audio help that technology provides today. Just pure god given talent. What a treat to still be able to listen to her here in 2024 just as she sounded back in the 70's. Incredible voice. Peace !
SHE IS SO GOOD ! I saw her in Nov. 1976, at the Universal Amphitheater in L.A., great show. Unfortunately my idiot friends did not want to go, so I told them to F-off and went alone. Had a great time, and now a great memory with no regrets!
She is an amazing powerhouse & she can also sing a ballad abt as good as anyone I ever heard. I saw her 3 times during the 70's. Breaks my heart she can no longer sing, talk abt unfiair
First time I saw this performance, it was late at night and my parents kept telling me to go to bed. I was glued to the TV !! I had the biggest crush on Linda.. my parents could tell because I kept saying , " ok, just a second ". Linda kicked ass !!! Peace.....
Love Linda, I remember her wearing that white blouse with cut-offs and she was barefoot, live at UCR. This a fantastic line up, Andrew Gold and Waddy Watchell. Keith Richards wrote in his autobiography, Life, that Waddy taught him to play open string cording. Oh I love Heatwave!❤
Linda was fantastic singer and Taylor would only dream to sing like her but Taylor writes great lyrics and co-writes the music for most of her songs. And she plays several instruments as well. So calling her "no talent" is silly.
🎉😅This song is too good!! And so true about tons of ridiculous people out there!! Life's tough for everyone, you don't ever have to be hatefull,,! I'm guessing.😢
Wonderful performance! Lucky enough to see Linda Ronstadt in concert twice way back when. As a side note, Rodney Temperton (credited in the video) obviously did not write Heat Wave, though he did have a band called Heatwaves. Heat Wave was famously written by Holland-Dozier-Holland for Martha and the Vandallas in 1963. Rodney was just a young lad of 14 then.
Unique voice... it's awesome really....i only hear this voice in a radio and i love it eversince t'was 1970, because am living in a remote area here in the Philippines ... thanks to youtube... the voice has a name already... Ms. Linda Ronstadt... praying for your recovery...

@@deadandburied7626 Yeah, too bad she didn't rock longer before going into "odd" music. Lol. Odd for me anyway. I really hated everything she did after about 1981 or '82.
@@gsr4535I love her diverse music from the 80's and 90's. She did so many different styles of music and her voice was never as good as it was in that time frame. It may not have always been rock but she achieved huge success and critical acclaim.
@@randyventresca4152 Thanks but not for me. Plastic, commercial adult pap. And I hated her voice in the 80s and 90s. Stretching out notes, showy, theatrical type of singing. Ugh. No thanks.
Ok. Your first part is right. This was a Holland-Dozier-Holland song but there never was a band called Heatwave. It was originally recorded by the Motown group Martha and The Vandellas. I'm from Detroit where all this shit originated from back in the day. Motown was not rock and roll. It was its own thing. A little bit blues. A little bit soul. A little bit gospel. A little bit rock and roll. It was called The Motown Sound back in the day and there was nothing quite like it.
I remember in the mid 1970s a statement that Linda Ronstadt was the next Janis Joplin. Janis had a raspier voice than Linda has, but for me Janis only had one soul-burning song (that I've heard, which wasn't all): Piece of my Heart. Other songs I just didn't like her. (Yea, we all have our own likes, etc.) I don't see Linda as the next Janis, I see Janis as the setup for Linda. Linda's voice is clearer, she can rock (Heatwave is the prime example to me) and can sing the blues (Temptation's Tracks of my tears or When will I be loved?), and for my money, did it better than Janis could. I wish she was around singing today, and pray for he with Parkinson's. I totally agree with everything "BD 43" wrote: a powerhouse... take this over anything today." Right on! Saying that, I thank "mtnhigh" for posting this fine bit of concert. As a type of PS: Linda did all this, entertaining us, without all the dancing and other stuff done today; she just did what we wanted her to do: sing like very few people good. And I say Bless and thank you, Linda
nope. nobody does it or sings like her. unreal voice. Lady G and Taylor Swift you will never never be even remotely close to this talent. take your auto tune and computers and pre records and amuse the 10 year old girls. You got nothing.
I think of Linda Ronstadt as a murder weapon. A very beautiful one but an instrument of destruction nonetheless and that's just a personal experience. Program sez: copy that Ringo.
Nobody in her league and the prettiest girl in the room.
She was one of my main high school crushes along with a host of others lol.

Linda Ronstadt rocking out! Great voice! Never be another like her
One of the best & certainly one of the prettiest! She got it all over the gals of today! Especially the no talent TS

This lady is absolutely stunning, and her voice is not to bad either

There is nothing about Linda Rondstat I don’t love…….amazing voice and very very easy on the eyes….yowza

Linda's drummer had a great view.

Why do people bother with Taylor Swift when they can listen to Linda Ronstadt?
I would like to 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th that……
maybe because there's no one worth a shit today. Can you imagine if 1976 Ronstadt was in 2024? There would be no competition.

Ronstadt is great, the band - not so much. In the middle of “your no good “ all the musicians veered off into different lanes, not good :(
