Well done video. Love you are taking it slow and easy. Wished my woman was still interested in archery, but! I see you both are tigger shooters. So, I started bow hunting in 1963 and have seen it all and tried 90% of everything for my background in this crazy thing of archery. I would hope I could get both of you to change your trigger techniques or maybe go to a thumb. ( Stan Onnex thumb under a $100). If you want to stay with wrist band tiggers look at those with the adjustable strap so the correct length can be found to fit you. Those barrel designs 99% of the time can not be set short enough to be of any help. Ideally, for a more highly repeatable execution the index finger needs to hooked deeply over the trigger and LOCKED into position. Never move it. The shot is activated by pulling thru with the back muscles, not moving that itchy index finger. What you’re needing to accomplish is you will be focusing on the target, not the pin, and at the same time beginning to load up the back by pulling pretending you are wanting your elbow to go straight back like you are trying trying to punch a imaginary wall behind you. The trigger needs to little to no travel ( better) but with some tension required to move the trigger backwards to fire. ( long story but ). Please, look up “ bow only outdoors “ UA-cam and look at the learning videos on different releases. Find the index trigger one and see his technique on set up and firing it. And also watch the one on thumb button releases. ( IMO, easier to learn to control the shot cycle). I will GUARANTEE you two if you will try his techniques with serious commitment the results will amaze you. In just a few hundred shots you will have begun to learn how to 100% control the shot. I’m serious as can be on this. GOOD LUCK.

Thanks for watching! It is definitely nice having a wife that enjoys shooting. While Olivia does have a conventional trigger release, the one I shoot is the Nock On Backstrap. It is a true tension-activated release with an adjustable "barrel." The trigger only functions as a safety so that it does not activate during the draw cycle. I have had it for a bit over a year and am still getting used to it. Thanks for the suggestion of the budget-friendly thumb release. The index was the easiest for Olivia while learning and she has not had the desire to change just yet as she is a casual archer. I did look into thumb releases when I switched, but went with the Nock On Backstrap due to it being a comfortable style but still a tension-activated release.

@@CreationOutdoorsI’ve never got to shoot a backstrap but would like to try it. I think it would be awesome because of the technique required to make it pop.

We are not, unfortunately, due to some other obligations. Hopefully next year! It looks like a great time.

What’s your thoughts on a resistance release

It’s an adjustment. Less peaks and valleys in my accuracy than my previous index finger releases and reduced target panic. But, I’m less accurate than what I was previously able to accomplish on my best days. I probably just need more intentional practice with and and should go backwards a ways before moving forward, if you know what I mean.
