@@nat-dz1bt If you haven't read Siiversans' comic on Tmblr, I suggest you do that now! All I should say as to not spoiler much is that they meet at one point in the story and become friends lol. It's not like "Oh, I'm the protector of AUs, so I guess we're friends now!", but they actually get really close. I won't say any more, so you should go read their comic if you haven't already!

Gin has this strange "curse" that disallows humans to touch him (Forgot how he got the curse whoops). If they touch him, he dies. One day, he was at a carnival(?) with Frisk, and I think they were helping a child in some way(??). The child grabbed his hand, not knowing he wasn't human, and he ended up dying. Later, he comes back (In some way I sadly DON'T remember). Error finds him, and- being the "mistake" Gin is- tries to take his soul. Ink obviously saves him, and that's how they become friends. Afterwards, Ink brings him to the Omega Timeline, where Core Frisk is, and a lot of drama takes place later. The subject of them actually being friends is brought up later, and I think Ink says he doesn't just feel like Gin's protector (Being the AUs guardian and whatnot), but like his actual friend. That's why you'll see him there crying.
Sorry for the long paragraph, and sorry again if this doesn't satisfy you. Tumblr is a pretty scary place, but maybe one day you can look at the comic yourself!
