The genius of this piece had to of been inspired by Our Heavenly Father above... the mechanics of the piece, the mathematical perfection, the harmony.... everything is perfect... God Bless Johann Bach for his spirit which had to be in tune with Gods to receive the revelation of this piece....
I always avoid original organ music whenever possible, it’s so boring, I’d rather play transcribed film music or big, well known symphonic pieces, pop music, kids song, and so on on the organ, instead of playing the classical organ stuff, which the young people don’t know, don’t care about, and it doesn’t make them come to the church, all the new and different stuff does, but still gives a meaningful experience in the church, cause it’s a totally different sound, playing those things on the organ.
A piece which usually strikes terror into the hearts of those contemplating it, but absolutely steam-rollered by someone with Jonathan's technique. Many thanks. (And, by the way, to the nit-pickers out there, it is NOT too fast(!))
@@SirReginaldBlomfield1234 Oh it is, indeed (SIR Reginald. - Ha!) And, as it seems to be necessary, in your case, I suggest you look up the use of the exclamation mark in brackets.
What can I say, Jonathan (?) - other than another masterly performance of the great Master of organ music, himself! Splendid, in every way - I continue to be amazed by your talent and dedication!
A beautiful and most challenging work brilliantly performed,as always,by Jonathan.I only wish my father-a church organist- was alive to enjoy Jonathan's exquisite talent!
I’m not sure i’ve heard this since “punishing” our local church organist with it as a request for my wife and I to leave the church to. He did blanche at the request, and nervously cautioned about the “technical limitations” of the very modest instrument. But he gave it a great performance on the day and this exceptional recording brings back great memories!
Jonathan and the pipe organ enjoyed a good workout, and both are in absolute top form! BRAVISSIMO to Jonathan and Dr Tom for another wonderful mini concert: aurally and visually a joy!!
Love the pedal point with canon. I love the way the piece resolves with it towards the end as well, and the interchange of the lead lines between the manuals and pedals are spectacular. Thank you so much Jonathan for giving this the ‘Scott Brothers treatment’. What a welcomed late Xmas pressie. All the best to you and your brother for the new year.
Ohh! - I think I may have heard a few other virtuosi playing this Toccata just as perfectly, but I'm certain that I've never heard anyone play it any better than this. This performance is exquisite.
The only one I've heard that is on this league is Marie Claire Alain's one. It is absolutely spot on, perfect in every way. They sound really similar with this one actually, except for the very end, yet MCA's one is a better for me, but I am probably a bit biased because I have listened to it nearly a hundred times in total.
I hope that all this energy is in 2022 to make us even more happy. Thank you. I wish you a wonderful New Year to you Jonathan, Tom, your family, friends and to all admirers of these talented golden boys. 🙏🎶♥️🙌👏🙋🏻♀️
A magnificent piece of music for a great musical closure of the year, wonderfully played! Thanks for the recording! It does lift the heart. Wish both brothers, family and friends as well as all Scottbrothersduo fans a very happy and healty 2022!
Can one but imagine what Bach might have left us if he had organs with these concert resources? But surely, no one could complain about what he did leave us. Sometimes I think Bach's legacy increases with age. I wish JSB had a modern piano, too. Thanks for the New Years gift, gentlemen. It was a nice coda to 2021. A 2022 wish for you for growth and contentment.
Absolutely adore pedal points. The F in the pedal lasts for many measures. Maybe i like them because they are like the drones in bag pipes, which I also adore. Thank you Jonathan and Tom for helping us endure the covid, and lately the long nights. You two deserve some Royal Recognition for helping us, like the WWII admonition "...carry on."
(Sorry I'm late...holiday times are rough for Hospice nurses.)---I loved seeing the animation! It's the element that I've been missing for awhile, and altho' not necessary to enjoy the presentation, it thrills me to see it nonetheless!
Bravo Jonathan. I love the F Major Toccata and you play it magnificently. A wonderful treat approaching New Year. I am looking forward greatly to attending some of your concerts in person to hear your wonderful music. 😀😀😀
The one piece of Bach where u need to be consistent throughout. Jonathan gets the tempo just right here and not rushed as some organists have a tendency to show off !
I am in awe
Amazing: the man that wrote it and the man that plays it.

If Bach were alive today, he would say that this is the way he wrote this piece to be played. Perfect pace!

Thanks Jonathan and Tom for uploading this piece on this wet day in the Netherlands!
Relentless! Breathtaking ! Impecable Jonathan! You are great. Thanks again.
J.S.Bach played this, Jonathan plays and has fun at the same time. How much capacity. Gorgeous! Okay! Got a score of 10. 👍🙌👏🎶
A wonderful example of Jonathan Scott at his brilliant best! Thank you for that amazing rendition.
Thank you! So nice to hear it played at an exciting tempo, not a funeral procession!
Hello!
Bach would be proud of you Jonathan fantastic!
Thanks very much!
Greetings from the Netherlands.
Fantastic performance of this toccata!
Bravo! This tempo so works, and nice to hear real phrasing on pedal solos. Mature reading, flawless technique, youthful energy!
Many thanks John and Tom for brightening up what is a dull (weather wise) day. Beautiful music!
BRAVO MAGNIFIQUE!!!
Merry Christmas to everyone and the Scott brothers! Happy New Year to you and all the subscribers!
I absolutely love this piece! Well played as always Jonathan!😁👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
I just love you you’re the best and such a joy for me. Thank you Bob Reuland.
Excelent performance , congratulations.
Bravo Maestro! The best performance I never listen in my life of Toccata in F major! Great 👍🏻

I prefer the version of Cameron carpenter

A magnificent performance of magnificent music on a magnificent instrument!
Many, many thanks Jonathan and Tom.
Brilliant Johnathan, one of my favourites. Bach was the greatest.
Fantastico! Il riascolto è sempre un piacere, grazie.

As usual, Perfect Scott Brothers! Aloha from Hawaii. Stay Safe!
I've only heard the concert version by Virgil Fox before; Watching and listening, it makes my fingers ache! Wonderful!
Thank you so much. Please continue your excellent performances. Love Janet xx Carlisle Cathedral, maybe please xx
Wonderful as always Mssrs Scott. Busier than a one legged river dancer on the pedals!
A favorite of mine. I loved playing the pedal part. Sadly I never was able to combine bother manuals AND pedals! Excellent!!!
Awesome. Chapeau
Beautifully played! One of my favorite organ pieces!

Yes both in top form, that Marcussen is very good for Bach
@@epincion That Marcussen needs some TLC. Keys on top manual are uneven, and all that dust! But it sounds superb with Scott's excellent playing.
3 beau morceaux d orgue dont un avec le piano superbe magnifique 💓💓😉😉

That bass F lasting for about the first minute is one of the best things made by Bach in his life!
Amazing music and fantastic player !
Bravo!!!
Can't help but think Bach had a great sense of humor.

Pretty sure it is from Manchester, England.
@Katrina Bryce Yes it is from Manchester, that's becouse I know this organ and where this is recorded.

I wish I had taken organ lessons when I was four
Damn best pedal note ever
Close to perfection!!!
