If you're new here welcome! My name is Laura Mullen Vermilye and I am an iron casting metal artist. Being a cast iron artist is an interesting - and at times tough journey, but the rewards far exceed all challenges. While working with cast iron to create my art I am exposed to an amazing community of artists who are as dedicated and passionate as I am. The cast iron art culture is a major influence in my life and on my work and I want to share this artistic adventure with anyone who is interested in seeing hard working people make amazing art with a hot and dangerous material. To do this, I make vlog style videos on this channel that chronicle the artwork that I am currently making and my journeys in Metalsmithing and iron casting. In between casting and metal art videos you may also see some behind the scenes footage of me roaming around the heart of the Midwest and the Ozarks. Thank you to all you folks that are as interested in my small metal project as you are in my cast iron art! Thanks for tunin' in, and as always - I love you.

Now I'll feel guilty for not commenting for some time... 😲 It isn't easy to see when YTbers get caught up on the view counts and analytics, if you love doing what you do, keep doing what you're doing, the stats don't matter! ❤🤗👍

    Hey you!
Remember that youtube has content creators like there is sand in the sahara.
Don't you worry about view counts. Eventually the channel will grow.
Most importantly: Be confident in whatever you do, because You Rock 🤘🏻

I don't comment much but I watch most of your vids. First saw you in an Abom or Windyhills video and followed you for the same reason I follow most channels, interesting subject and someone genuine presenting it to me. I kept watching because you do come across as honestly passionate about the things you're into and choose to show us, I guess I'm just trying to say you do you and the right people will keep watching. UA-cam and the internet is full of thirsty boys that can be catered to or ignored depending on how you feel about that. You're a pretty girl so I'm sure you could boost your numbers if you wanted to but would the numbers be worth the kind of audience that would develop. I think you're already on the right track. Hello from Scotland.

Laura - DO NOT dwell on the numbers of people who watch your videos. Your videos are important to you and that is special, because YOU ARE SPECIAL! You are a unique person who is full of joy and positive energy, and you are sharing something that you have done that gives you happiness and joy! That sweety is enough!!!!! We love you!!!!

I'm a new subscriber and follower and this is maybe the 2nd video I've watched of yours. I'm confident that I'll now be a lifelong fan. It's very admirable and sincere of you to separate yourself from potentially toxic external validation. I feel lucky to see a pivitol moment where an honest person could re-ground themselves to their purpose 😊

Keep doing what you're doing. If you're after growing the channel, then you might need to change, and feed that UA-cam Algorithm. The fact is there are all kinds of viewers, those that want to see the vlog, those that want the quick iron pour vids, and those that want to see you working in the shop, and of course those that want to see the molds and pours.
As others said, don't get caught up with the stats unless you are really after growing the channel for an income stream. If that's the case, you'll need to feed that dreaded YT Algorithm, and use those click-baity titles, and such. You know "You'll NEVER believe what happened at this iron pour". LOL....Oh and use some click-bait thumbnail!! LOL.
For us that have been with you since you had just started, we're pretty much not going anywhere. Keep doing you!

One from Windy Hill poped up today and I wondered "whatever happened to Gypsy".
So I did a search and here we are.
I'm gonna start leaving a comment even if it's just a wave. 👋
    Love ya! ❤

Hi, I came across your Wisconsin iron pour videos and I was hoping that you could help me with any information, help, and or advice. Because I am trying to get into smelting and casting with molten metal but I live in a small apartment in Minnesota near the Wisconsin border with no where to work. And help or info would be appreciated. Thanks 😎

What a coincidence the video I pick to watch randomly on my way to get back on track is such a whole hearted one, soo nice. Views have mostly nothing to do with content. The dedicated viewers will watch for you. You might consider some voiceover instead of music on those style videos to explain what is going on or just comment what you thought about it at the time or now.

The art work is cool especially the stuff you made back in school. A wide variety of videos are good to get insight. Im sure its a balance in-between work and personal thats why i don't ask personal questions like whats tattoo say/mean are did you and rob find any new awesome river spots are if i ever can trick my Donna into marrying me would you be interested pouring a skillet with our name on it not for free of course . Lol ok i did just ask . Hope nothing crossed a line

not seen you ages. Dont know if that's my fault or youtubes. This is your channel, we are just along for the ride. The content you make has to be what YOU want to do. Otherwise you wont enjoy making the videos and the content then would suffer just to get views.
    As usual 2x👍

Your channel, Your content it is not possible to satisfy all viewers. You produce content that is unique in it's own way so I doubt You will loose that many followers over the long hall even if You change up the style.
